Ok, getting back to Daniel and Revelation. Daniel sets up certain timelines that continue in Revelation.
On the throne there are 4 beasts and 24 elders arranged in clock formation. There are two types of generation in the bible, a standard 70 year generation, and a 'strong' 80 year generation:
Psalm 90:10 The days of our years are threescore years and ten; and if by reason of strength they be fourscore years,
Each elder, who is actually a Levite, corresponds to 80 years. And each beast corresponds to 6 elders, as they are on the inner hub of the circle. (They also have 6 wings to show they correspond to 6 elders). So each beast faces out on 6 elders, whose portion of the clock face equates to 480 years.
Revelation was written in AD96, which marked the end of that 70 year generation in Israel. (The 80 year generation would have ended in AD106.) {The world was created in 3895BC, so you simply count the generations from then forward}.
The 4 cycles of 480 years counting from AD96 bring us to 2016.
When we come to the 4 seals each successive beast announces the seal, indicating that they are events occuring every 480 years from AD96 onwards.
However there is another time cycle of 490 years established in Daniel. This revolves around the 4 generational curse God put on Jerusalem and Judah. This requires proper explanation, but briefly each 70 year generation gets amplified 7 times, according to God's wrath, and so becomes 490 years.
So Jerusalem is under 1960 years of curse, starting in AD70, and going in 4 generational cycles of 490 years. Each cycle is depicted by a seal. The first seal is Rome, the second is Islam, (Mohammed was born AD560), the third I think is the Catholic Church, and the fourth is the Jesuit movement, (founded AD1540).
Jerusalem's curse expires in 2030. The house of Judah's curse expires 3.5 years later, in 2033, (because the 70th week of Daniel ended AD73).
Why the beasts run on a 480 year cycle, against the 490 year curse cycle, I don't know, (although there is a Hezekiah factor in the Bible which allows for a 10 year extension).
