Matthew 28 says to go into all the nations and preach the gospel to every creature. How often are you telling people about Jesus? Do you ever tell strangers about Jesus or just someone you have known for a very long time? Todd White tells people about Jesus everywhere he goes, often multiple people getting saved just while standing in a checkout line at the grocery store. I think he is a good example. Most Christians today seem too afraid of rejection or people getting angry at them for sharing Jesus, myself included, something I praying against

It's not so regular as once a month or something, I used to try to talk to people on Whisper when it was more popular, it mostly went badly. I am not good at witnessing. People don't want to listen to me and they can walk away or block me at any time.

It's good to share the Gospel as much as we can whenever we can. The challenge of evangelism in the States though is that many people have already heard it in some form. I mentioned that because some of evangelism seem geared to those who've never heard anything about Christ, which is rare in the States. Or at least that's been my experience.

"nations" is the key word here I believe. In the US, if you haven't heard about Jesus then you must live in a cave in the middle of West Virginia. :p I don't feel I'm in any position to witness to anyone because I have so much to learn. I also think actions speak much louder than words. Anyone can jump up on a platform and belt out scripture, but how effective is that? Does that really work? I'd prefer to share personal stories with individuals one-on-one and allow my actions do the talking. Aggressive, loud, obnoxious people on the streets I think turns people away and leaves a sour taste in their mouths. At least for me it always did.

I grew up with churches everywhere but never KNEW that God was ACTUALLY real. I think the curse of this country is that people think the Bible is just a ''popular fairy-tale'' and not to be taken literally. In third world countries they are praising Jesus and REALLY believing the scriptures as REAL... here in the US, Christ has been turned into being used for ''motivational speeches'' instead of the author and finisher of life and that His spirit is ACTUALLY real

There is a fair amount of cultural faith in the States. Getting past that to present the Gospel is a challenge.

Matthew 28:18-20
"Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Me."
"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey all that I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end
of the age."

The Greek word that’s translated “make disciples” is mathēteuō, which comes from the root mathētēs, meaning “learner” or “pupil.”
The disciple is a believer(sheep) who’s learning God's Word and learning how to obediently follow and serve Jesus as their Lord.
Discipleship emphasizes more than simply accepting Jesus.
It’s a long-term commitment to uncovering and discovering what it means to be devoted to and abide in Jesus.
We do this through constant exposure to Scripture, commitment to the church, prayer, direct involvement of mature believers in our lives etc.

So this goes beyond the telling of someone about Jesus and leaving them to go at it the best they can.
You see, some people shared the gospel message with me and my family members a LONG time ago, they didn't walk out of our lives.
We were directed/taken to their church, connected to a Sunday school classes for children and adults; the person(s) who told us about the Lord were actively involved in our spiritual growth and also did follow up with us over the many years to see how we were doing in our faith walks.

Jesus spent 3+ years teaching/training his disciples(pupils)...they got hands on
training lessons regularly during that time...those today don't get that.
The churches I've been part of over the many years since my childhood offered
a month or six weeks discipleship class tops...a few of those churches didn't
even have a discipleship class.

I'm for the telling and living out a godly life before the world...but without the
unction of the Holy Spirit and the mature believers who are committed to putting in the time to teach and train the new disciples/pupils in the whole Word of God, I fear we're in danger of making life-long babes in Christ or worse... false converts.

Hi William :)

I am struggling with this myself. I went to Power and Love in Pennsylvania this year where Todd White was one of the speakers. That was the first time I actually went out and actively prayed for people and learned what it looks like to love people rather than treat praying for someone and telling them about Jesus like some horrific chore.
Problem for me however was when I got back home things slowly went back to how they used to be.
I've been so used to being afraid of people and isolating myself from the outside world.

After the conference however I've started to actively combat this fear and shyness thing. I think it awakens something in other Christians when someone like Todd White or someone in their circle of friends step out and love people the way Jesus loves.

For me it has awakened an intense desire to get in a deeper relationship with Jesus, to become love, walk in boldness and humility ( big one for me that last one, cause I think a lot of times fear is a form of pride), and to love others into the Kingdom.

So I am right there with you William! and I declare over both of us and anyone else who is struggling with this that we will have Victory in Jesus name! Because as new creations our spirit is fully love allready, our minds just needs to catch up. Perfect love casts out fear, and we have the greatest love of all on our side!

Thank you Jesus that you are with us in this and for a future in deeper intimacy with you and deep, genuine, Godly love for people! Amen!

P.S.

a while ago I listened to a speech by Heidi Baker who talked about jumping in a parachute. She said the toughest part os before the jump, but once you've jumped you realize that you are flying.
I think that is a good way of looking at any mountain that we're facing. Sometimes we just have to close our eyes and jump to realize that Jesus has already flattened that mountain :)

That's awesome you went to one of those conferences, I've been wanting to go to one. What all did you guys do? Yea I watch Todd's videos a lot- i love how he is 100 percent comfortable with walking in God's love and praying for people and touching people everywhere. I love how he puts it, he says he's just ''normal,'' it's how all Christians should be. Have you grown since the conference in walking in Gods love?

It was pretty intense but so amazing. Every day consisted of 3 sessions where either Todd White, Dan Mohler or Tom Rutolo were speaking. Between sessions we were divided into groups, you could either go with your own group if you had one or they'd pair you up with someone who had more confiedence and experience in going out and praying for people if desired.

The speaking sessions focused heavily on how important intimacy with Jesus is, and that praying for people means nothing without the love of the father. Praying for people is not about us it is about Jesus and that person. We're just the donkey He rides in on :)
I was really encouraged to deepen my relationship with the father and spending time in the word first. It gave me a new and really amazing view of what the gifts and authority we've been given really means :) It is all rooted in God's love :D ( I get a bit excited when writing about this, sorry if it is really long! )

The break times in between the groups were encouraged to just go out an live life, do stuff you'd normally do, be it going grocery shopping, going out to eat etc. and then just love on people :) Some prayed for people, a lot of waitresses were tipped really well, and there were a lot of healing testimonies. It was a really wonderful experience!

Have you ever watched the Power and Love livestream? They usually livestream the first evening session of Power and love :) I'm pretty sure you can find the livestream updates either on lifestylechristianity.com or on Todd White's facebook page :)

I pray you get the oppertunity to go some day! <3

My greatest takeaway was the importance of intimacy with Jesus :) I have to pursure Christ on my own and not aspire to become Todd White but rather become the person daddy God sees me as :) In my alone time with God he has revealed a bunch of things where he has favor and victory wating for me. It has been so encouraging! I feel like can actually win now! I didn't feel that way to the same extent prior to the conference. For me personally, I know I'll get to walk in love as long as I fix my sight on Jesus :)

I take so much encouragement from being alone with God, highly recomended! Though I have a feeling you're allready doing that :) He has so much favor wating for you! Keep pursuing God's heart brother! <3 :D

I recently began to ask for wisdom on a daily basis after hearing a Todd White video in which he reported how he has been doing that for years. He realizes that he is way over his head........ . his admitting that made me realize that I also desperately need to ask for wisdom daily!
