This is just my opinion. And I say this as a civilian who is not in the military. But, I believe that the cost of nuclear proliferation and inevitable nuclear war in the middle east by association, would far far far outweigh a conventional war against Iran in terms of casualties and destruction.
And we can all complain about Israel and complain about Donald Trump all day.
But if Iran developed nuclear weapons, we would have a dark future ahead. And not just Isreal, but the world. Because we know that regional rivals would then also seek them out. Every Sunni nation that rivals Iran today. Saudi Arabia. Perhaps Kuwait. Egypt. Maybe even Jordan or Qatar. They wouldn't sit by with a nuclear Iran as their neighbor. They've waged war against one another for centuries.
But, alternatively, if we get shah 2.0 in, the issue resolves itself for decades to come.
