I wouldn't have thought to look in that direction. Thank you brother!

Very similar to why Zuckerberg created Facebook! Female rejection.

They seemed normal at first. But the more they talked the louder the alarm blared. Sometimes I want to see how far a person will go. But gosh, you've gotta draw the line somewhere. I'd stare at the screen in shock. You don't expect all that.

Yeah the guy who I was talking about earlier wasn't even unattractive. But the moument you start talking with him you'd realize he was way off the deep end.

I'm thinking the Incels exist because they've all been looking at porn, become ingratiated with the form of the specifics they find there, can't get that exact (elusive and illusive) form, and become dark, brooding and violent in their nihilistic resentiment (ala Nietzsche) of not getting what they want the way they want it......

I wouldn't say porn causes incel-ism as men looking at porn is not uncommon, even before the Internet. IE Playboy. I don't think there is a cause and effect here, as even non-incels look at porn. I mean, I wouldn't say that they don't look at it either.

....Unfortunately, what I see so much when talking about "incels" is disdain, hatred, ridicule and the like. This does nothing but fuels their anger and resentment towards society and gives them even more reason, in their minds, to act out in violence. That attitude does no good for anyone and, for a Christian, is about as un-Christlike as one can get.
The incel phenom reminds me somewhat of ISIS males. But no one seems to want to understand them..... and I understand why, even as I think understanding is always beneficial.

Jesus didn't express disgust and disdain towards the outcasts of society, Christians shouldn't either :)

I always encourage everyone to follow the Billy Graham rule. He forbade anyone on his team from being alone with a woman who was not his wife or family. This is good advice for anyone. It helps maintain accountability, ensure that we are above reproach, and keeps them from the harm that can be caused by false accusations being made against them. Especially with the topic at hand, it must be someone of the same gender or else, as you pointed out, they will view it as interest.

Unfortunately, what I see so much when talking about "incels" is disdain, hatred, ridicule and the like. This does nothing but fuels their anger and resentment towards society and gives them even more reason, in their minds, to act out in violence. I don't think it matters much what thier friends do. They need professional help not a bro. A layman isn't going to help them erase years of resentment and with the internet they can always find echo chambers to help feel justified in their hatred.

I didn't say that porn causes incel-ism. Please don't reduce my statements to a strawman of what I actually said. Not porn, but a more or less pornographically (and sexually lax) inclined "world culture" helps to breed various levels of resentment among men. Some become Playboys; others become potential terrorists.

He behaved until I said no. Then he blew his top. Maybe I was the final straw. I don't know. Given the things he says, I'm surprised he hasn't committed a crime. Some people are fantasizing. But he isn't. He's for real.

You mentioned wife colonies earlier. What is that?

Oh wife school. He had this idea where woman starting at twelve would be sent to a school where they would learn girl stuff (cooking, cleaning sex stuff) then a man would come to the school and be able to pick a wife. Which one he could pick would be based on his income. Like the girls with higher scores would be reserved for rich guys stufg like that.

Keep in mind, too, 'porn' in the modern era isn't merely a media product, it's a Zeitgeist. It's a way of seeing the world and of 'being presented to' in the larger culture.

I am glad you are alright.

He didn't have information on me or pictures. I'm more discriminating. His behavior made me leery of certain things. I'm mindful of anger, outbursts, and fixations. It never goes well.

I had an encounter in my early day in college with someone who hide his rage quite well and could appear smart, charismatic and quite friendly. There were the so called 'red flags' that I, at the time, either ignored or did not see. He did try to hurt me physically. It ended very badly for him (no, I did not kill him in self defense).

Wow, I'm glad you're okay. That's horrible! :yellowheart:

The incident taught me to pay attention to 'red flags' and to understand I have to rely on myself for my own defense (no one else is responsible for that, nor should they be).

Yeah, that's true. I've made changes since then. I think it's for the best.

I've fared well in my connections on the Internet and the people I've met were nice. But earlier this year I had a feeling I should stop. I know to trust my gut. I've managed to remain safe for over 20 years. But I shouldn't push my luck.

Given your prowess he shouldn't have pushed his either.

I think a lot of people are shocked. They're able to handle rejection without lashing out. It's a part of life. The incel mentality is beyond yours and mine. Women are subhuman and subject to their will. They promote rape, enslavement, and violence without remorse. And admit it openly.

That's going to warrant a response. It's the antithesis of humanity. Their rhetoric is profane. Compassion doesn't diminish our responsibility for confronting dysfunction and calling evil by its rightful name.

Outcast doesn't equal kill, maim, or violate. They're sick. They're mentally imbalanced. Their behavior is abnormal. We can't deny that.

Heavens no! Someone mentioned him today and I saw what he said. He's worse if that's possible.

That's sad that he's not having a 'wake up' moment yet.

I don't know much about the Incel social issue, but I'm glad you brought it up for further inquiry. It seems to be a related branch to all else I've studied.

I appreciate your OP!

Interesting. The idle mind saying holds true.

He didn't like disparity. He'd put them with lower class men to humiliate them. He feels men at the bottom shouldn't miss out or have to settle for less.

That may not happen until he breaks the law. If you feed something long enough you have to act or call it a fantasy. He may be heading in that direction.

Thanks brother. I appreciate your contributions. :yellowheart:

The article was informative and so was the feedback. Hopefully we've learned something. :)

It actually doesn't surprise me that it's seeped into Christian circles, as men there are quite conservative and would be unfortunately repressive to whatever women they wind up marrying.

This is too much of a generality about Christian men for me. Not all Christian men are quite conservative and repressive toward women. I have been married for 52 years, love my wife, treat her accordingly. I have never been "repressive" toward her, or any woman for that matter, and I am politically liberal.

If you really want to be realistic, if social change is not an option, forced castration, warfare to kill off males, abortions of male fetuses, or maybe eventually genetic modification.

You describe yourself as a Christian. Would you explain why you believe that forced castration, warfare to kill off males, abortions of male fetuses, or maybe eventually genetic modification are realistic options? Or are you just trying to be funny?

Either way, I don't think you're expressing a Christian sentiment, even in jest.
