The report debunked claims, promoted by Trump and his allies, that the Steele dossier had prompted the Russia investigation, and reiterated that the FBI investigation had in fact started in late July 2016, based on a tip from Australian officials regarding Trump campaign adviser George Papadopoulos

Horowitz concluded that, “given the low threshold for predication,” the FBI had a sufficient basis “to predicate the full counterintelligence investigation,” branded Crossfire Hurricane.

Upon the release of the IG report, Barr and U.S. Attorney John Durham — the federal prosecutor Barr appointed to investigate the Russia probe — both denounced Horowitz’s conclusion that Crossfire Hurricane was properly predicated. “Last month, we advised the inspector general that we do not agree with some of the report’s conclusions as to predication and how the F.B.I. case was opened,” Durham said in a statement released shortly after the IG report. And the additional evidence that has come to light since his report and since several things have been declassified would indicate that Horowitz was incorrect, by the way those classified items were known to Durham and Barr which likely explains their statements.

Beyond that, pretty much any objective source questions if it is Hunter's laptop; it is very fishy. First, we are supposed to believe Hunter dropped his computer off at a no-name computer shop, run by a blind, strong Trump supporter, thousands of miles from his home. I bring up the "blind" part only because the owner can't state who it was that dropped off the laptop, just that they gave the name "Hunter Biden." It seems really odd, since the name on the invoice was for Hunter Biden that he only got suspicious when he saw a sticker that said, "Beau Biden Foundation."

It is even weirder, with this allegedly having so much of Hunter's business information on it, that Hunter never would have returned for it. Even if he was drunk/stoned at the time, as some try to claim, how many computer repair shops could he have dropped it off in Wilmington? Yet, for some reason, not only did he drop it so far from home, and it had this critical business information, he never tried to get it returned.

Last, as you note, the FBI took the laptop. Why, since they've had the laptop for a year now -- and with the "strong evidence" that you claim is on the laptop concerning Hunter and even Joe Biden, has Trump's DoJ not acted on that information. I'd have expected charges against Hunter Biden, such as for the alleged child pornography/communication with a minor for immoral purposes/sex with a minor -- pick one of those -- based on what I've heard claimed is on the laptop. Strong assertions have been made about Joe Biden in regards to a China deal -- I would think the DoJ would definitely want to bring charges before he become President and prosecute him prior to him becoming President and, not only not being able to prosecute him, he'd even control the DoJ. Yet, for some reason, we've seen no charges at all.

Now, from what I've seen, it is likely some of the emails are real. At the same time, it appears some are also fake -- and that is why no charges have been filed. It will be interesting to see what comes out when the FBI concludes their investigation. It maybe be Hunter is charged, I don't know and can't say; after all, we know he is being charged with tax violations (but there are no solid reports of either child sex crimes or influence peddling). At the same time, I think we also find out that the laptop is "fake" -- that it was not Hunter's laptop -- and that it was placed in the repair store to "frame" the Bidens, to hurt Joe Biden's chance at being elected. Because there are no "hard facts" here, from either side. As TLK Valentine stated, we know the FBI has "a" laptop that, per the work order, says "Hunter Biden." What we don't have is any hard evidence that it did belong to Hunter Biden, including the fact that -- despite things you keep claiming are "slam dunks" to prove guilt -- the FBI has not filed any charges based on the laptop. And, while you likely won't accept this and just claim "bias" -- there are good reasons that no "MSM," to include Fox and the Wall Street Journal, have had news articles that outright state this is Hunter Biden's laptop or stories based on the emails that were allegedly on the laptop.
