From the "As if prosecutor bias wasn't bad enough", files: Judge rejects Roger Stone request for a new trial

Judge Amy Jackson, the Obama appointee who handled Stone’s case for nearly a year and presided over the two-week jury trial last November, rejected Stone’s claim that he was entitled to a new trial following his defense team’s allegations of “bias” regarding one of the jurors.
...
Trump also criticized Jackson on Tuesday.

Is this the Judge that put Paul Manafort in SOLITARY CONFINEMENT, something that not even mobster Al Capone had to endure?” Trump tweeted. “How did she treat Crooked Hillary Clinton? Just asking!”

Jackson presided over a number of other spinoff cases from Mueller’s two-year investigation, including against former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort, former Trump campaign deputy-turned-government’s witness Rick Gates, and former Obama White House counsel Greg Craig.

More info on the jury foreperson: Roger Stone jury foreperson's anti-Trump social media posts surface after she defends DOJ prosecutors

Former Memphis City Schools Board President Tomeka Hart revealed Wednesday that she was the foreperson of the jury that convicted former Trump adviser Roger Stone on obstruction charges last year -- and soon afterward, her history of Democratic activism and a string of her anti-Trump, left-wing social media posts came to light.
...
Meanwhile, it emerged that U.S. District Judge Amy Berman Jackson had denied a defense request to strike a potential juror who was Obama-era press official with admitted anti-Trump views -- and whose husband worked at the same Justice Department division that handled the probe leading to Stone's arrest. And, another Stone juror, Seth Cousins, donated to former Democratic presidential candidate Beto O'Rourke and other progressive causes, federal election records reviewed by Fox News show.

The revelations came as Trump has called the handling of Stone's prosecution "ridiculous" and a demonstrably unfair "insult to our country." They raised the prospect that Stone's team could again seek a new trial, especially if Hart provided inaccurate responses under oath on her pretrial questionnaires concerning social media activity

Too bad he wasn’t a drug smuggling murder that entered the country illegally, he would be free as a bird.

What exactly is "prosecutor bias"?

Fair point. I should have said prosecutorial misconduct which led to four attorneys being forced out.

What misconduct was that? Last I heard the prosecutors resigned in protest, not being forced out.

They withdrew from the case after Attorney General Barr meddled in it.

LOL ... resigning after attempting to pursue a 9-year sentence for offenses which others have received only minimal sentences.

So you we are agreed that the prosecutors were not forced out even though that was your claim?

The president told a barefaced lie (shocking I know). The judge had nothing to do with Manafort being put in solitary confinement, and to suggest she did is utterly dishonest and disgusting. Nothing this man says can be trusted.

The fact we’ve reached a point where his fans are cheerleading for Roger Stone of all people says everything that needs to be said. The dark arts merchant who literally has a tattoo of Richard Nixon on his back is now some poor victim to some of you people. We’re so far past parody at this point that I don’t see any way some people are ever going to salvage even the remnants of their integrity.

They left under protest. What alternative characterization would you prefer?

I require no alternative characterization. I just want to ensure we agree on basic facts since that has gotten to be challenging of late. If we do not agree on facts it is hard to have a useful discussion.

How did Roger Stone's lawyers miss finding these social media posts before they agreed to seat her on the jury?

Investigate the investigators! Prosecute the prosecutors! Judge the judges (according to political party)!

With climate change and Rex lex, we may yet achieve Banana Republic status.
Perhaps we already have.

If that were the case, would your opinion change?

Nobody should be above the law. Nobody should be below it! Everybody should be equal! Authorities and powers which be should be held accountable. If you can put on trial a President one the most ultimate Government authority why shouldn't others in Government be held accountable too? Can't touch them or you're criticized? Just accept that they're honourable people without question?

If what were the case (that we achieve BR status?) and which opinion? The question as it stands is too vague to be answered accurately.

Nobody should be above the law.
Does that include Roger Stone, Michael Flynn and Donald John?

No, but there should be a credible basis for investigating, prosecuting and judging - not simply that someone opposed or criticized the president. People should not be investigated, prosecuted and judged for telling the truth and doing their jobs according to the laws and statutes. They should not be hounded out of office for belonging to the wrong party.

Clinton was subjected to countless investigations, the last one that was announced, contrary to policy, two weeks before the election probably cost her the election as that was the point where her poll numbers crashed. Donald observed that and has sought to repeat it with Biden, even though there is no credible basis to investigate let alone prejudge him guilty.

This judge is not the first one that Donald has disparaged for trying to do their job without favoritism. Who says she has not been "held accountable" for her actions? What does that even mean when her actions have been reasonable and above board, but not in Donald's favor?
