I’d recommend a word study into deadness in the Bible, if you haven’t already done so. God calls the church in Sardis “dead” in Revelation 3, likewise the prodigal son is “dead” to his father, yet it’s the son who returns home of his own will.

It’s the sons choice to try and return, but the fathers choice to forgive and accept him back, only the father has that right.

Still, a study into deadness would be what I suggest for people, it’s a big, tricky topic.

Until I came here I always thought Calvins gave decent account of themselves. Of course, I never heard of born again before hearing about Jesus until now. I`m still reeling from the revelation.

Sinners have faith in themselves. True? This is not saving faith. Real faith is in God instead of self.

I told you what I believe. Free will responds to reasons God uses to control our choices. We experience guilt or reward based on our choices because we chose what we wanted.
