I am a very young person who has recently discovered my faith. I willingly joined a Coven a few months ago. Now, I don't know if I'll ever get out.

I made a terrible mistake a while ago. I was ignorant to my foolish consequences that would damn me to eternal suffering. My close friend introduced me to Pagan candle rituals. Which is also known as witchcraft. I was intrigued by their new beliefs. A group of witches is known as a Coven. My friend urged me to join their new Coven, and nervous that declining would make me look like a "wimp" to them, I accepted the invitation. The next day my friend texted me saying they did this candle magic spell to basically set in stone that I am now a witch in their coven. I was a bit mortified to say the least. I spent nights tossing and turning after realizing what I had done. Then he sent me websites about witchcraft. They said they wanted to buy alter candles and do a ritual with me to obtain whatever they wanted. The website was full. of. pentagrams. I am deeply ashamed of what I did. I did two candle spells. A love spell and a luck spell. It honestly sounded extremely childish to me at the time, but now, I know it was a grave sin. After I did the luck spell, I was scared to do another.

A few months later and I am now a Christian girl that loves God. But...
What is going to happen to me?

I'm basically in a cult now. It's set in this candle magic realm that I don't know how to escape. What can I do so that God will accept me again? Do I need to ask this friend to remove me from the coven? Or is it already fated for me to go to Hell? Please, help me. Is this a sin I can never be forgiven for?

Please, if you know anything about this, reply.
Thanks for reading.

Trust me when I say that I am not making light of your concerns. But it has been my experience that things like "covens" are phases that some young people go through as a means of trying to fit in with some group or another. I remember several years ago Wicca was all the rage among young people, especially teenage girls. I had a girl tell me online one time that she was a wicken. I had to correct her on her spelling. That told me there wasn't much to it.

In your case, even though these things are in most cases harmless games, they can be a distraction from faith in God and they are something to be avoided. To get away from it, you should simply stop participating in it. As far as "spells" or "curses" or other such that the group might threaten you with there is nothing to them and they are nothing to be afraid of.

Turn around and walk away from the coven, and everyone associated with it. Don't look back.

Turn to God, and give Him your undivided attention and focus.

Are you involved with a church?

Many of us have been in and out of witchcraft. The two powers (God's and satan's) are not even comparable, as satan's is a drop in the ocean compared to God's eternal power. Fear not, but turn to Jesus Christ in true faith calling out His name...

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

If you turn to God in faith and repentance, then you are freed from your past sinful commitments.

The coven people may or may not consider you a member; that doesn't matter anymore.

Turning to God puts you under His protection. Read Psalm 91.

Thank you. I've been losing sleep over this for a long time now. Now I will strengthen my faith and let go of my sinful past, as many of us have done.

A fragment of God indwells all people--even so-called "witches". All that matters to God is your intent. It is not possible for any ritual, spell or other incantation to bind the will of our Father in heaven. Belief in witchcraft and other supernatural cults could slow your spiritual progress (as would any superstitious beliefs) But these things have no power to harm your soul. You are not going to hell. Only deliberate sins, especially repeated selfish choices over an extended period of time could threaten your eternal soul.

If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. - 1John 1:9

There's no sin equal to the power of the blood of Christ to forgive, as long as you will repent of it, which you have done. God will take you back. Confess the sin to the Lord, and renounce it and any attachment to any dark forces. Always remember, the power of Christ is far greater than that of the dark side.

Rather, we have renounced secret and shameful ways; we do not use deception, nor do we distort the word of God. On the contrary, by setting forth the truth plainly we commend ourselves to everyone's conscience in the sight of God. - 2Co 4:2

You are now in Christ and there is absolutely now no tie to the past things if you have confessed and repented before God.

Anyone or any thoughts that say you are tied with it is a total lie and you reject them straight away and keep your eyes firmly upon Jesus.
You have been given good advice, so don't worry any further.
As Darkhorse said Psalm 91 is a good one for you to read, and if you can memorise even a verse or two that will help you to get rid of any nagging thoughts should they pop up.
Whom the Son sets free is free indeed!

I'm basically in a cult now. It's set in this candle magic realm that I don't know how to escape. What can I do so that God will accept me again? There is only one true God. You cannot be made a member of some cult without your consent anyway. Even if you were made a "member" by some ritual unbeknownst to you, the god they worship is no match for Jesus.

The way to come back into relationship with God is to confess your sin to him and ask forgiveness.

1 John 1:9
If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

This "magic candle realm" has no power. Relax. Disassociate yourself from these people and follow Jesus. This "friend" doesn't seem much of a friend. But there may be an opportunity to convince him or her of your point of view.

Start digging into your Bible. Had you been reading it regularly, you probably could have answered this question yourself. I don't mean any rebuke. I just encourage you to read your Bible regularly. Its instruction can keep you out of bad situations.

Hebrews 4:12-13
For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. 13 And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account.

Thank you so much. I have not been participating in it or engaging in talking about it for months now. I still have one question though. Am I still in this "coven"? If so, how do I leave?
what you describe doesn't sound like a coven or Wiccan or witchcraft at all

I know what most know, in that I get the gist of it, but it doesn't matter, I know my God well enough to know these people have no power whatsoever. Now if you buy their ridiculous claims that you are stuck in a coven, then you give them some power, a power that anyone can give to anyone in any situation, but it's only psychological, not real power at all.

IOW, don't believe a word they tell you, they don't have zip when it comes to control over anyone. All they have is people assuming they do, and often due to tha "magic" of Hollywood. Many of us like a good movie every now and then, but don't get caught up in that stuff to the point we think witchcraft is anything more than smoke and mirrors, it's no more real than a flying Superman....all fiction.

The next day my friend texted me saying they did this candle magic spell to basically set in stone that I am now a witch in their coven. I was a bit mortified to say the least.

No reason to be mortified. Think about it, if God allowed just anyone to have the power you feel they have, the world would have ended a long time ago. Spells do nothing. This is a little pretend game they are playing and if they believe they have one ounce of power they are deluding themselves. They are very insecure in this early stage of their life where they haven't figured things out yet, and feel they need that false sense of power, but that's not you, the very reason you left. No one on the solid rick of Christ has any reason whatsoever to feel insecure, or in need of a pretend power to makes them feel like they are someone....they know exactly who they are.

A few months later and I am now a Christian girl that loves God. But...
What is going to happen to me?

You'll remain a Christian girl that loves God, and loves him enough to have enough faith in him, that he will take care of you. Except in this instance there isn't anything for him to take care of, as in you did all that was necessary and sought out the answers because you love God..

I do understand your concern so please don't think I'm making light of it, but in reality, there is nothing wrong now/you have no problem. You're back on the right path, just stay away from people like that if you can't help yourself being drawn back in, and if you are strong enough, maybe tell them in a kind way, you have something much better now....something real, and backed by the greatest power ever...anywhere.

I'm basically in a cult now.

Yep, if you allow words with no meaning to rule you I suppose it could be said you are in a cult. If you take the word of people that lie, people that are probably a little off their rocker, then yes, you may at least think you're in a coven.

But you now know better, and since I assume you have repented, and asked forgiveness for what you did, then that's the end of it. Look at it as though nothing ever happened, that's the type forgiveness God offers if we are sincere in l doing our best to live for him. I'm not saying get out there and do that or any sin again, but fact is, God is also very patient with us. Pretty cool, huh?

You're fine, don't worry about a thing. :)

It seems that what you have done is because you did not know any better. It's a lesson to be learned - don't get into anything without checking the implications first. God can and will deliver you. Walk away from this group. Remove yourself. Renounce the devil and his works. You don't need anyone's permission. Jesus died to pay the price of this sin also. Don't compound the problem by staying under condemnation. God does not condemn you. He wants to set you free.

Jesus is far stronger than any witch or coven.

11 It is written:
“‘As surely as I live,’ says the Lord,
every knee will bow before me;
every tongue will acknowledge God.’

12 So then, each of us will give an account of ourselves to God.

Even those in the coven will kneel before God.

Leave the coven and never go back. Let your friend know you have now become a Christian. You don't need human permission and certainly not the devil's permission.
If you feel Satan is trying to get to you, say this verse
Matthew 4:10
(Jesus said to him,) "Away from me, Satan! For it is written: 'Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.'"

Some more verses to give you courage.
“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.”
—Deuteronomy 31:6

(has always my personal favourite to say when I need courage.)
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
—Psalm 23:4

(Nothing can separate you from the love of God, certainly not some mortals calling themselves witches or a candle made of wax)
“For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
—Romans 8:38-39

“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
—Isaiah 41:10

God accepts all His children no matter what mischief they get into.
If you are concerned, then you still believe in God, and rejecting
God is the only sin that God does not forgive. All other sins are forgiven
.

1 John 1:9
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

1 John 1:7
But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.

Revelation 1:5
And from Jesus Christ the faithful witness, the firstborn of the dead, and the ruler of kings on earth. To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood

Romans 6:23
For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Matthew 26:28 s
For this is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.

2 Corinthians 5:17
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.

1 Corinthians 6:11
And such were some of you. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.

Acts 22:16
And now why do you wait? Rise and be baptized and wash away your sins, calling on his name.’

God is only worried about you not trusting in Him. He has no
measure of your sins after you've trusted Him for your salvation.

1) ask for forgiveness and you ARE forgiven, washed white as snow.
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
(1Jn 1:9)

2) Thrre is no such thing as a spell or act or coven or anything that can make you go to hell. God forgives all if you give your life to him.

3) you have literally nothing to fear if you have Jesus.

4) delete all the crazy witch people from your life. If they try to speak to you ignore them, their father is the devil

5) I have prayed for God to deliver you from a spirit of fear and give you boldness to find a church with Christians to help you learn and grow in Jesus. :)

Sart attending church, develop a habit of prayer, read the Scriptures. If you are worried that somehow God can't accept you because you were part of this group, don't worry that's not who God is. No matter what we've done, where we've been, or who we are the God who meets us in Jesus Christ is the God of love, grace, forgiveness, and salvation. If God can save murderers, He is more than capable of saving you--and He has, through the life, death, and resurrection of His own Son, which was for you.

As you hear the Gospel being preached to you you will grow in your faith, and you'll hear time and again about the truth of God, about who He is. And it will transform you as a daughter of the Almighty, it will transform you because it will create and sustain faith in you. You will stumble, you will have difficulties, you will falter, fumble, and sin--but the God who is yours in Christ will never leave you nor forsake you. That's His promise to you.
