Or being eliminated, whatever.

Is that really what Sabbatarians believe?
Absolutely not. That teaching is heresy. It denies the finished work of the Lord Jesus. Our salvation is purely based on what He has done for us by His death and resurrection. I was in the military (navy) for the first 3 years of my Christian life. I went to church when and where I could. I worked most Saturdays. I had no idea about the dead, religious sabbatarian doctrine. Lord Jesus came to set us free, not saddle us with pointless laws and regulations that achieve nothing for us spiritually.

So some would consider it wrong but not "hell-binding" right?
I don't doubt that some think Sunday worship constitutes a willful disregard for the Fourth Commandment and is therefore a serious sin.

I'm not sure what Sabbatarians believe, but it isn't biblical that a person would go to hell for that. As a believer, I don't live by the law anyway, but by faith through the grace of God.

Can anyone confirm that the Saturday Sabbath that Sabbatarians worship on is in fact exactly the same day that that Jews worshiped on more than 2000 years ago? Can anyone count back day by day and confirm that numerically the Sabbath day is correct and has not shifted is some way?

That can indeed be determined. Although the annual calendar has been changed the seven day weekly sequence has not.

Sunday is a great day for formal worship, leaving the Sabbath for the rest intended by it. The early church often gathered on Sunday.

1 John 3:4
Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.

The fourth commandment is the Seventh day Sabbath Commandment.

Folks that are worshiping on Sunday are not obeying the fourth commandment.

They are not condemned until the time comes when legislation is passed demanding Sunday worship and they choose to disobey GODS commandment and follow the law of the land.

Mark 7:7
Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.

It comes down to an issue of obedience just as it was in the garden of Eden with Adam and Eve

John 14:15
If ye love me, keep my commandments.

If Christ Himself instituted the Sabbath day of rest for us (Mark 2:27), would He change it? Jesus kept the Sabbath day faithfully. The disciples of Jesus likewise kept the Sabbath day (Acts 13:14, 16:13). The seventh-day Sabbath is taught throughout the Bible, while Sunday sacredness is not mentioned once. If Christ or the apostles did not change the Sabbath, who did?

The Jews have kept impeccable records going back to the time of Ezra and Nehemiah. So what we call Saturday is indeed the day our Lord kept as Sabbath.

Yes, that was accomplished thousands of times at least, for the last few thousand years even.
FINDING it, in a way applicable or presentable on this forum, might be a challenge to do though.
Still, if someone seeks, and keeps seeking , they shall find, as God Promises.
"Happy hunting!"

I believe that had that kind of law over a hundred years ago in the USA,
and other places as well, and over a thousand years ago, though the dates escape me.... might have been 1700 years, of 700 years, or other....

Towards Global Sunday Law

The Pope is calling for the world to acknowledge and honor Sunday as a day of rest. Legislation that will force the world to worship and rest on Sunday would be the ideal solution. There are many voices clamoring to fulfill exactly such a goal, using the economy, the environment, and even the family as reasons to legislate Sunday rest.

Blue law | American history

Blue law, in U.S. history, a law forbidding certain secular activities on Sunday. The name may derive from Samuel A. Peters’s General History of Connecticut (1781), which purported to list the stiff Sabbath regulations at New Haven, Connecticut; the work was printed on blue paper. A more probable derivation is based on an 18th-century usage of the word blue meaning “rigidly moral” in a disparaging sense. Strictest in Puritan, Bible-oriented communities, blue laws usually forbade regular work on Sunday, plus any buying, selling, traveling, public entertainment, or sports. Peters’s account of the New Haven Puritan government’s codes has been proved unreliable. Among the 45 blue laws he listed in his History (1781) that were wholly or substantially true, however, are the following: “The judges shall determine controversies without a jury”; “married persons must live together or be imprisoned”; “a wife shall be good evidence against her husband”; and “the selectmen, on finding children ignorant, may take them away from their parents and put them into better hands, at the expense of their parents.” To some degree, similar laws existed in all the American colonies. In general, they lapsed after the American Revolution. However, blue laws, especially those regarding the sale of alcohol, remained on the statutes in some states into the 21st century, and their influence persisted wherever public activity on Sunday was regulated.

Sabbath Day | Ten Commandments | Day of the Lord | Sabbath Commandment

Jesus did change the Sabbath as part of the new covenant. Of course the OT Sabbath was in force until the death of Jesus, and the destruction of the Levitical priesthood and the temple in 70 A.D.

OC: Man made for the Sabbath as a day of compulsory worship and service.
NC: Sabbath made for man as a day of rest. Worshipping on the 1st day ok.
