Just came across this,

US pastor runs network giving 50,000 Ugandans bleach-based 'miracle cure'

The network, led by pastor Robert Baldwin and part-funded by Sam Little from Arlesey in Bedfordshire, is one of the most extensive efforts yet to distribute the “miracle cure” known as MMS, or “miracle mineral solution”. The Guardian has learned that poor Ugandans, including infants as young as 14 months old, are being given chlorine dioxide, a product that has no known health benefit and can be extremely dangerous.

This isn't just happening in Uganda, both Ireland and Canada have banned the sale of "MMS", because it's literally bleach being sold as a panacea. But it's being touted by some, such as on Facebook groups, as just that, which has led some parents to try and "cure" their children's autism by literally forcing them to drink bleach.

Salisbury woman reports parents, claiming they gave children bleach to 'cure autism' :: WRAL.com

Bleach peddled as autism cure on YouTube

Parents are poisoning their children with bleach to ‘cure’ autism. These moms are trying to stop it.

This is horrifying.

Horrific and shows the depth of wickedness prevailing in the world (but not forever) and from someone masquerading as Christian, indeed ..."you will know them by their fruits".
Heartbreaking.

not trying to troll or pick a fight

but there are plenty of die hard Christians on this site that firmly believe that vaccines are unnecessary and or harmful and dangerous.

This miracle cure is definitely in the same ballpark. I'm sure the people doing this "believe" with all their hearts that this is indeed a miracle cure in the same way plenty of others believe that vaccines cause autism and spread disease...

The same bad science and "I had a friend who had a cousin's who's girlfriend's son got a vaccine and died therefore vaccines are bad..." is the same logic being used with these sorts of miracle cures. I guarantee that people that believe in these miracle cures have a friend who has a cousin who's girlfriend's son had some ailment, took the miracle cure and is cured...

basically, my point is that we need to be consistent in our judging. This sort of scam is no different than pro anti-vaxxer arguments.,..

No, reading about this pastor it is clear he is doing it for his own gains. Why else would he give smartphones to those who are "committed" to peddling his so called miracle cure. He knows what he is doing and said himself he is doing it through his church so he doesn't come under scrutiny of government and health authorities. He is claiming the cure is through God.
He is a wicked man.

Well, many people say it works. That’s probably good enough for some people that Tweet a lot.

The poor and uneducated and desperate can easily be hoodwinked in medical “miracles”.

I hope Sheila has a special place for this pastor and the accomplices.

To be crystal clear, I'm not arguing the people involved here are good. No. What I am arguing is that the same logic and beliefs and reasoning that support the anti-vaxxer arguments can easily apply here.

TO answer your post, he is doing all of the above because of the same government conspiracy that is behind vaccines is the same government conspiracy that opposes his miracle cure.

He can firmly believe wholeheartedly that his cure is a real cure in the same way that anti-vaxxers believe wholeheartedly that vaccines are harmful and are a scam perpetrated by the government...

using that same logic, all of his actions are easily justified...

Nope. He’s a fraud. Ignorance is not an excuse. But I think he knew.

Then there's that famous brand of mouthwash that began its life as a watered down antiseptic floor cleaner.
Was it ever peddled as a cure for cancer or anything like that?

I know that in floor-cleaner concentrations it was sold as a treatment for gonorrhea in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

Did you mean Sheol?

... Or do you know of a woman named Sheila who is literally so bad that she might as well be the grave itself? ^_^

At least it was an improvement on the previous treatment (injections of mercury into the affected body parts and eating Sulphur)

Umm...the Sulphur wasn't eaten.

Also, I cannto link to it, but google early std treatments for fun reading.

19th century England was deeply concerned with sexually transmitted diseases, particularly with how they affected the health of troops and navy men. The problem was that they decided the spread of STDs was entirely down to prostitutes, and proceeded to create a series of laws, the Contagious Diseases Acts of the 1860s,that criminalized them and their work. A woman could be forcibly examined for an STD, without her consent, if a police officer even vaguely suspected she was a prostitute. If she was found to be suffering from one, she was hospitalized in a "lockhouse" for treatment, and if she refused, she was put in a prison for up to a year.

Couldn’t have her infecting MEN, now, could we?
