I pretty much believe that most suicides go to hell. But when I hear of children--tweens and teens, committing suicide, it's even more sad, imagining a kid in hell. What do you think on this issue? Sad because they think they're ending their pain, but their pain ends up becoming magnified by 1 million for eternity...
There are some essential doctrines Christians must believe. These doctrines are very clearly presented in the Bible. Everything else is speculation or derived from reasoning. Our desire or need to make the puzzle complete urges us to assume things not divinely revealed. A mature faith learns to live with not knowing because trusting in the LORD is enough.
Suicide as an unforgivable sin is derived in western Christianity from Roman Catholicism. The reasoning goes like the following:
Life or the divine breath is what provides life,
then the extinguishing of life is the ultimate unholy act - either by murder or suicide.
I would encourage you to pay particular attention to post number 17. To some degree most believers have times when the pain is too great or nothing makes sense. Every one has a different level of tolerance and strength.
The English Meaning of the term gospel is "good news." The good news is that our acceptance before YHWH is not what I do but what YHWH has done and will do. It is in our futile attempts, our inadequate efforts, our failures, and our blatant disobedience that grace abounds - AMAZINGLY!
And this you are promised. We cannot tell the difference between a wheat and a tare.
In fact, it is NOT our job. It is the job of the Lord. Don't speculate but trust that YHWH is righteous, good, merciful, gracious, and loving. We don't need to know everything YHWH knows.
