The fact that membership is dwindling in your parish says more about the possibility of selfish attitudes of the men in your parish.

I think the good people of the Matero Province in Zambia would most likely disagree with you there. But you are ignorant of our activities to raise money for that project, are you not..?

I certainly am.
I know nothing about those efforts but I would never make the foolish claim that your charity towards them is "outdated" . . .

Never been a knight but if it's like every other men's club in America it probably has something to with cribbage and alcohol.

And maybe dinner.

We should start a fraternal order. No secret handshake or rites of innitiation or anything, just conversation over good booze and the occasional donation to a charity we support. Also, we'd let chicks in. In fact, we should only let chicks in.

Weren't all there Fraternal organisations set up to get away from the wife for a few hours...?

Edit: Before Elvis hits me with another judgement from on high, that was not meant as a criticism...

Oh, we'd certainly be getting away from the wives. Well, our wives, anyway.

Well I move that if we're to allow women in, they speak when spoken to and must be able to cook and clean with grace and aplomb...

And there's nothing wrong with getting away from the wife for a bit. Keeps the marriage healthy.

What's the old saying? Absence makes the heart grow fonder?

how can anyone call a group of men with swords and capes outdated?!?!?!?!?!?

If they kept up with the times they'd have guns. If they were real forward-thinking, maybe some sort of rad plasma-rifles.

They'd keep the capes though.

Hmmm . . . more ignorance.
Swords and capes are only for 4th Degree members.
The vast majority of Knights are not 4th Degree.

not ignorance
a joke
my dad is a member of the Knights of Columbus and I have a lot of respect for the group
i just think some people on this thread are being very rude to others and i wanted to make a joke

Being a member for 20 years, I guess I just take it seriously. We do a LOT of good for a LOT of people.
Being my council's Pro-Life Director, I take that extremely seriously.

However you do not have to b rude about things
As rude as you were when you ridiculed this charitable organization?
This is a classic exaqmple of being able to dish it out but not being able to take it . . .

I gotta tell you Rhamiel - I usually enjoy your posts but this one took me by surprise.

Dude you need to chill before you get reported. There is no reason for such rudeness, you do not act very Christian at all.
