  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Why Did Judas Betray Jesus? (w/ Fr. Mike Schmitz)

Did Judas think he was actually helping Jesus fulfill His mission by betraying Him? Was Judas pre-destined to become the traitor of the Lord? Fr. Mike Schmitz asks these bold questions and unpacks what Scripture says about the person of Judas Iscariot. By evaluating his motivations and his lack of cooperation with the grace given to him, Fr. Mike details what a tragedy it is that he never became St. Judas.

Second Federal Law Enforcement shooting in Minneapolis

Whats more it appears Pretti was part of this organised resistence against ICE and federal law. More will come out.

But this is more or less organised insurrection and bordering on a form of terrorism. If agitators like Pretti are going out and spitting on agents with hate and smashing their cars, willing to drive them down, and dox them so they are murdered. Carry loaded guns against federal agents.

Then that is a form of terror IMO and some leaders have encouraged this.

Worthy of The Calling

“Therefore I, the prisoner of the Lord, implore you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling with which you have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, showing tolerance for one another in love, being diligent to preserve the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.” (Ephesians 4:1-3 NASB1995)

First off, what does it mean to be a “prisoner of the Lord”? Well, for Paul it meant two things, I believe. From what I understand, he was literally imprisoned at the time in which he wrote this, and he was imprisoned because of his service to the Lord Jesus and because he preached the gospel of Christ and of his salvation. Many of his writings, I believe, were during times when he was being held captive in some kind of imprisonment for the gospel of Christ. But somehow his letters were able to get to the people.

And some of you who are reading this may presently be being held in some kind of prison, or you may have friends and family members who are being held because of their declarations of faith in Jesus Christ and because they are sharing the truth of the gospel without shame or fear of reproach. Or you may be ostracized from people who now think of you as odd because you serve the Lord faithfully with your life, and so you may not have many friends, and so you feel isolated from people, which is kind of like prison.

But the second way in which he was a prisoner of the Lord was the same as we should be also, if truly Jesus Christ is Lord (Owner-master) of our lives. For we are no longer to claim ownership over our own lives, but we should now serve as servants of the Lord to do his bidding. Now he takes ownership of our lives, and we now live for him to follow him wherever he leads us. We no longer see ourselves as free to live however we want, for we were bought back for God (redeemed) by the blood of Christ, shed for our redemption.

Therefore, as those who now belong to God, in his service, no longer to live for the sinful pleasures of the flesh in deliberate and habitual disobedience to our Lord and to his commands, we are to walk (in conduct, in practice) in a manner worthy (suitable and fitting) of the calling with which we have been called. And that calling is the one Jesus gave to all who desired to follow him, that we must deny self, die to sin daily, in practice, by the Spirit, and walk in obedience to his commands, if we are to have eternal life with God.

And “with all humility” is lacking in pride and in self-importance. And “with gentleness” is with meekness, which is not weakness, but which is controlled and gentle strength, like Jesus modeled for us. And patience and tolerance are not to be accepting of sinful lifestyles in those who profess faith in Jesus Christ, for we are to exhort and encourage one another daily so that none of us is led astray by the deceitfulness of sin. And we are to speak the truth of the gospel to one another in love so that we all follow Jesus Christ in truth.

And being diligent to preserve the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace is not in encouraging one another to follow and to obey “wolves in sheep’s clothing” disguised as ministers of the gospel who are teaching lies to the people and who are trying to get the people to conform to the ways of human flesh rather than to conform to the ways of God and to the teachings of the Scriptures. Too many “pastors” are businessmen who are marketing “the church” to the world, so they are compromising the gospel message.

So, test the spirits to see which ones are of God, and test them against the Scriptures taught in their correct biblical context, and then obey God.

Holy Spirit, come within us.
Cleanse our hearts,
and from sin free us.
Make us holy vessels fit
for service to the King.
Fill us with Your love and power.
Anoint us within this hour
To be living witnesses
For Jesus Christ, our King.
Our praise to Him bring.

Father God, our heart’s desire,
Come and speak to us in power.
Revive our hearts to obey You;
Live for You always.
May we love and serve You only,
Walking with You;
Not a phony.
May we always tell the truth,
And show integrity.
Your true servants be.

Jesus, Savior, sanctify us.
Purify our hearts within us;
Be transformed into Your likeness,
Holy unto You.
May we always listen to You
Speaking Your words
Now within us.
May we heed Your counsel to us;
Follow You today.
Do all that You say.

Chris Pratt Says the ‘Greatest Outcome’ of His Platform Would Be To ‘Bring God Into People’s Lives’

I think it’s worth remembering that people’s relationship with God isn’t really tied to a celebrity’s platform- God's already at work in people’s lives in ways we can’t always see. Faith isn’t a personal brand to promote, but something deeper that exists independently of a personal platform. Being an actor isn’t always the ideal platform for what he seems to be trying to do. The nature of that work is about performance and visibility, which doesn’t always translate to meaningful influence or the kind of quiet, lasting impact many people need in their lives.

Democrat AG candidate announces plan to execute Trump

I know this is meant as a joke, but the (failed) impeachment had already happened at the time he issued the pardon.

I think they should remove the pardon power (any pardons can be issued by the normal legislative process; congress passes a law in both houses and the President signs it), but I'm not sure if I necessarily disagree with Johnson's usage of it here. A massive pardon to everyone for treason was a way to just let the country move on from the Civil War. If that was the worst abuse of the pardon power, I'd have less of a problem with it. The bigger problem is that various pardons of the last few decades, which while obviously less sweeping, also have been less justifiable and more blatantly corrupt.
I'd go with a pardon board of some sort. Not sure how to fill it. And prohibit "corrupt pardons" explicitly. Anything to be done would require a constitutional amendment, but I think there is a real possibility that a bipartisan amendment could be crafted with the potential to get 2/3 votes in Congress and 3/4 of the states.

The primary cause of America's social-justice violence

Murder is a black and white issue.
It's not our place to say that the man deserved it
  • Man’s justice says: murder is a crime, and the courts must act.
  • God’s justice says: murder is sin, and only God can judge the soul of the murderer.
And this is why we never say “he deserved it.” The moment a human being claims the right to decide who deserves death, they step into a role that belongs only to God.

Every year, I take a considerable amount of time to learn about a new denomination. This year is dedicated to the Anabaptists

I hope your explorations include actual visits to worship with the groups you are studying. It is enlightening to see and experience how others worship. Over one year, I once took one Sunday a month to worship with a different tradition. It was both an adventure and clarifying about what I wanted and didn't want for myself.

(ETA: Plot thickens more) NYT reports interim US Attorney Alina Habba will leave interim role (Judge rules her acting appointment illegal)

much ado about......what?
In the appellate courts a case is placed before a three judge panel and a ruling is made.
The loser of the decision can appeal to the full court AKA en banc, (or the full court can choose to rehear the appeal, (which it did not do here), otherwise the appellant can try for certiorari in SCOTUS.

Ezekiel's Archetypes

Ezekiel offers Noah, Job, and Daniel as archetypes as he prophesies:
12 The word of the Lord came to me: 13 “Son of man, if a land sins against Me by acting faithlessly, and I stretch out My hand against it to cut off its supply of bread, to send famine through it, and to wipe out both man and animal from it, 14 even if these three men—Noah, Daniel, and Job—were in it, they would deliver only themselves by their righteousness.” This is the declaration of the Lord God.
15 “If I allow dangerous animals to pass through the land and depopulate it so that it becomes desolate, with no one passing through it for fear of the animals, 16 even if these three men were in it, as I live”—the declaration of the Lord God—“they could not deliver their sons or daughters. They alone would be delivered, but the land would be desolate.
17 “Or if I bring a sword against that land and say: Let a sword pass through it, so that I wipe out both man and animal from it, 18 even if these three men were in it, as I live”—the declaration of the Lord God—“they could not deliver their sons or daughters, but they alone would be delivered.

19 “Or if I send a plague into that land and pour out My wrath on it with bloodshed to wipe out both man and animal from it, 20 even if Noah, Daniel, and Job were in it, as I live”—the declaration of the Lord God—“they could not deliver their son or daughter. They would deliver only themselves by their righteousness.
I had either never noticed or forgotten this detail of the prophet. Thinking on the writings of St. Paul, it is clear that he had a strong preference for Abraham. And Jesus himself was transfigured with Moses and Elijah. Enoch also gets some scattered mentions throughout the NT.

That the Prophet, as the mouth piece of God, chooses Noah, Job, and Daniel is fascinating. For further consideration, Daniel was nearly contemporary with Ezekiel. Two of the three may not have been Israelites.

US appeals court lifts order curbing immigration agents' tactics against Minnesota protesters

...and that police was tried, convicted and sitting in jail. Reforms were made.
You won't see any police force violently push a woman down and then assault, gang tackle and kill the man who comes to her aid.
Does it have to specifically be that scenario? I could go on Youtube all day long and watch body camera videos of far worse than that being done by local police. It happens far more often than you may think, but nobody here is complaining about that. Far more attractive to complain about a couple incidents involving Federal agents because it gives an opportunity to badmouth Trump.

President Donald J. Trump Establishes New Department of Justice Division for National Fraud Enforcement

Indeed, there is so much corruption and they will have to face God. In my own state of Minnesota they have found just the tip of the iceberg, taxpayer money goes to non-profits and they either don't do the work or siphon off the money to individuals or to for-profit companies. As to the elections I am glad they are following up in Georgia. I reviewed a number of statements about the election in Michigan and as much government corruption as I have seen I was quite taken aback at the brazen moves. Lara Trump gathering over 100,000 elections observers/workers was a brilliant move to restore confidence in future elections.
Payola can be a normal part of doing business with the city. We had two companies bidding on a job and one of them withdrew their bid after they had legs broken. That mayor did not get re-elected.

Driver in custody after car crashes (twice) into Chabad World Headquarters in Brooklyn; no one hurt; police investigating possible hate crime

Brooklyn Chabad Car Attack: Father Says Son Faced Mental Health Struggles, Tried to Convert

Dan Sohail, 28, was seen near the Eastern Parkway synagogue before allegedly ramming a 2012 Honda Accord into the building at around 8:45 p.m. Wednesday, police sources said. Authorities said Sohail had visited several synagogues recently, including Chabad’s international headquarters in Crown Heights, as part of conversion efforts but was reportedly turned away.

Video shared online shows Sohail dancing inside the Chabad headquarters two weeks earlier in the same clothing he wore during the incident.

Chabad official speaks out after car-ramming of Jewish center, as NYPD probes motive

Motti Seligson, director of media at Chabad, told Fox News that Chabad has received an outpouring of support from elected officials since the car-ramming. The Chabad official said he had received a call from Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, D-N.Y., on Thursday morning. Additionally, he praised New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani, NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch and New York Attorney General Letitia James for coming to the scene shortly after the incident.

"This individual, according to reports, has attempted to enter various Jewish institutions in NJ, including Chabad, but was rebuffed and in at least one incident the police were called," Seligson later added in a separate post on X.

Foods and drinks preppers should avoid.

@JohnB445

My plan is to shelter in place for a year, and then move to a bugout location/camping location after that, where there will be hunting and fishing/water sources nearby and probably won't be a lot of other people around after that. Also will grow a garden after that all of the time or every year after that probably, etc. Me and a buddy of mine are planning on doing this together if something happens, etc, and maybe we'll eventually try to start a community from there sometime after that maybe, etc. But I'm very, very glad that I won't be trying to do all of this completely alone though, etc, cause that's important, or can be important.

God Bless.
