Did Judas think he was actually helping Jesus fulfill His mission by betraying Him? Was Judas pre-destined to become the traitor of the Lord? Fr. Mike Schmitz asks these bold questions and unpacks what Scripture says about the person of Judas Iscariot. By evaluating his motivations and his lack of cooperation with the grace given to him, Fr. Mike details what a tragedy it is that he never became St. Judas.

I'd go with a pardon board of some sort. Not sure how to fill it. And prohibit "corrupt pardons" explicitly. Anything to be done would require a constitutional amendment, but I think there is a real possibility that a bipartisan amendment could be crafted with the potential to get 2/3 votes in Congress and 3/4 of the states.I know this is meant as a joke, but the (failed) impeachment had already happened at the time he issued the pardon.
I think they should remove the pardon power (any pardons can be issued by the normal legislative process; congress passes a law in both houses and the President signs it), but I'm not sure if I necessarily disagree with Johnson's usage of it here. A massive pardon to everyone for treason was a way to just let the country move on from the Civil War. If that was the worst abuse of the pardon power, I'd have less of a problem with it. The bigger problem is that various pardons of the last few decades, which while obviously less sweeping, also have been less justifiable and more blatantly corrupt.
Murder is a black and white issue.
It's not our place to say that the man deserved it

Oh yes ... I see that they are!I notice they're still available from WM and Amazon. But EXPENSIVE!
In the appellate courts a case is placed before a three judge panel and a ruling is made.much ado about......what?
Its a dog-eat-dog world out there. We are told the day is coming when the Lion will lie down with the Lamb.TruPlay Games, a Christian digital media company that creates educational Bible-based video games and entertainment, has accused American technology company Google and popular social media platform TikTok of systematically censoring Christian content and has asked Congress to intervene.
Does it have to specifically be that scenario? I could go on Youtube all day long and watch body camera videos of far worse than that being done by local police. It happens far more often than you may think, but nobody here is complaining about that. Far more attractive to complain about a couple incidents involving Federal agents because it gives an opportunity to badmouth Trump....and that police was tried, convicted and sitting in jail. Reforms were made.
You won't see any police force violently push a woman down and then assault, gang tackle and kill the man who comes to her aid.
Payola can be a normal part of doing business with the city. We had two companies bidding on a job and one of them withdrew their bid after they had legs broken. That mayor did not get re-elected.Indeed, there is so much corruption and they will have to face God. In my own state of Minnesota they have found just the tip of the iceberg, taxpayer money goes to non-profits and they either don't do the work or siphon off the money to individuals or to for-profit companies. As to the elections I am glad they are following up in Georgia. I reviewed a number of statements about the election in Michigan and as much government corruption as I have seen I was quite taken aback at the brazen moves. Lara Trump gathering over 100,000 elections observers/workers was a brilliant move to restore confidence in future elections.
Brooklyn Chabad Car Attack: Father Says Son Faced Mental Health Struggles, Tried to Convert
Dan Sohail, 28, was seen near the Eastern Parkway synagogue before allegedly ramming a 2012 Honda Accord into the building at around 8:45 p.m. Wednesday, police sources said. Authorities said Sohail had visited several synagogues recently, including Chabad’s international headquarters in Crown Heights, as part of conversion efforts but was reportedly turned away.
Video shared online shows Sohail dancing inside the Chabad headquarters two weeks earlier in the same clothing he wore during the incident.
Chabad official speaks out after car-ramming of Jewish center, as NYPD probes motive
Motti Seligson, director of media at Chabad, told Fox News that Chabad has received an outpouring of support from elected officials since the car-ramming. The Chabad official said he had received a call from Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, D-N.Y., on Thursday morning. Additionally, he praised New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani, NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch and New York Attorney General Letitia James for coming to the scene shortly after the incident.
"This individual, according to reports, has attempted to enter various Jewish institutions in NJ, including Chabad, but was rebuffed and in at least one incident the police were called," Seligson later added in a separate post on X.
