Iran attacks Israel... then suffers crippling drought

Well if we go by what scripture actually says, that doesn't happen until the end of the Millennium.
The referral to Gog and Magog in Revelation 20:8 means that it will be the same nations that made up the Ezekiel 38-39 Gog/Magog attack on Israel, 7 years before Jesus's return, a thousand years earlier.

Ezekiel 38-39, to take place 7 years before Jesus's return.

Revelation 20:8, to take place 1000 years after Jesus's return.

Sensitive documents from Putin Meeting left in hotel

Another security breach by the Trump administration.

Papers with U.S. State Department markings, found Friday morning in the business center of an Alaskan hotel, revealed previously undisclosed and potentially sensitive details about the Aug. 15 meetings between President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir V. Putin in Anchorage.

Eight pages, that appear to have been produced by U.S. staff and left behind accidentally, shared precise locations and meeting times of the summit and phone numbers of U.S. government employees.

Jon Michaels, a professor of law at UCLA who lectures about national security, said that the documents found in the printer of the Alaskan hotel reveal a lapse in professional judgement in preparation for a high-stakes meeting. "It strikes me as further evidence of the sloppiness and the incompetence of the administration," said Michaels.

Butter emails!

Another look at the moon landing.

I've had them & they are, I removed them years ago.
Very foolish.
People have died because their smoke alarms weren't working/they didn't have on.
So you believe in a pre-rapture, absolute rubbish.
No, I said "MAY"; I don't know.

And it's ironic that someone who believes in a flat earth can call another belief "absolute rubbish".
No - But the prophets did, didn't Jesus inspire the whole Bible ?
No, the Holy Spirit did.

And he, or God the Father, could have instructed Jesus to teach a Flat Earth if they had considered it to be remotely important. It isn't.

Multiple immigration sweeps reported across Los Angeles, with a tense standoff/protest downtown; SEIU union leader arrested

An L.A. high school senior was walking his dog. Then immigration agents grabbed him

Benjamin Marcelo Guerrero-Cruz was walking his family’s dog in Van Nuys on a recent morning when he was taken into custody by federal immigration officials, according to authorities and published reports.

Guerrero-Cruz, who turned 18 this month, was set to start his senior year at Reseda Charter High School on Thursday, according to a GoFundMe page set up to support his family and legal fees. Instead, he’s being held in Department of Homeland Security custody pending removal from the United States, the agency confirmed in statement to The Times on Friday.

“Benjamin Guerrero-Cruz, an illegal alien from Chile, overstayed his visa by more than two years, abusing the Visa Waiver Program under which he entered the United States, which required him to depart the United States on March 15, 2023,” the statement read

When he was taken into custody Friday morning, immigration agents tied his dog to a tree and then unclipped his collar, allowing the animal to run loose on Sepulveda Boulevard, according to the GoFundMe page.

Trump Threatens Federal Takeover of Washington After Member of DOGE Is Assaulted

West Virginia, South Carolina, Ohio to deploy National Guard troops to D.C.

Three states moved to deploy hundreds of members of their National Guard to the nation's capital as part of the Trump administration's effort to overhaul policing in Washington through a federal crackdown on crime and homelessness.

West Virginia said it was deploying 300 to 400 Guard troops, while South Carolina pledged 200 and Ohio says it will send 150 in the coming days. [To add to 800 DC NG]

Gov. Phil Scott, a Republican from Vermont, declined on Friday to send the state's National Guard troops to the nation's capital. Scott's chief of staff, Jason Gibbs, told Vermont Public that while public safety is a "legitimate concern" in cities across the country, "the governor just does not support utilizing the guard for this purpose, and does not view the enforcement of domestic law as proper use of the National Guard."

The activations suggest the Trump administration sees the need for additional manpower after the president personally played down the need for Washington to hire more police officers.

[Again, this suggests that Trump favors military intervention over civilian law enforcement.]

[It's also useful to have forces 'from the provinces', who may show less reserve than local troops.]

Questions and Answers

What Ezekiel 38:12 does NOT say is: the House of Judah. So the Jews are not involved here.
keras, you made a typo - it is Ezekiel 39:12. And here is what it says...

Ezekiel 39:12 And seven months shall the house of Israel be burying of them, that they may cleanse the land. kjv

The house of Israel in Ezekiel 39 is talking about all the twelve tribe descendants of Israel, which includes the Jews.

The nation of Israel, born in a single day on May 14, 1948, fulfilled Isaiah 66:8, a nation born at once. Which also fulfilled Ezekiel 37:19, the tribes of Israel (the northern kingdom) reunited with Judah (the southern kingdom) back into one nation.. So the house of Israel became one nation again made up all twelve tribes.

There is not going to be a replacement nation to the present nation of Israel. Gog/Magog will attack the present nation of Israel, as you see the Israel - Iran conflict leading up to the Gog/Magog attack.

Hegseth Boosts Video of Pastors Saying Women Shouldn't Vote, Advocating Repeal of 19th Amendment

I'm not ignoring it. I'm saying it's flat-out wrong.

The Trinity share one will. It's not that the Son and the Spirit put aside their own wills to submit to the Father. You could just as validly speak of the Father submitting to the Son or the Spirit. They co-operate in bringing about their shared will.

I just wanted to add this for the sake of providing further elaboration to anyone curious.

This is just historic, orthodox Trinitarian theology. There is only one Divine Will; the Three Divine Persons are of one undivided will. In the Incarnation the Son assumes a full and complete humanity, and thus a human will.

Dyotheletism (Jesus has two wills, human and Divine; even as He has two natures--dyophysitism) is the position of all Chalcedonian Christians (Catholic, Eastern Orthodox, and Protestant). So the Son's obedience to the Father emerges out of the Incarnation, as a perfect human will united to the Divine Will. The Incarnation itself, the Son assuming into Himself humanity and partaking in the fullness of humanity is not an act of eternal subordinatism (a false doctrine), but rather is a singular act of the one Divine Will: And is borne out of the mutual love of the Three Divine Persons--the intra-love of the Persons (the love shared between Father, Son, and Holy Spirit) and the extra-love (the love extended to creatures which comes from the intra-love of the Persons). In this way God shares Himself with creation, because it is God's participation in creation--even fallen creation--for the sake of the rescue, redemption, and ultimately the restoration of all creation.

As St. Gregory Nazianzen wrote, "Whatever is not assumed is not healed." That is, the full human person cannot be saved unless the Son bears the full humanity--body, soul, mind, will, etc. And it is in God's participation and union with His creation in the Incarnate Person of the Son, in Jesus Christ, even to the point of "tasting death for everyone", that God intends to bring creation to its full, good, and glorious resolution in Christ ("for all things were made by Him and for Him").

These are elementary Christian doctrines that have been part of basic, normative Christian teaching for centuries and which have been worked out by the ancient fathers of the Christian Church in the ancient councils as they engaged, thought through, and wrestled with all the complexities of the profound encounter with God and His grace through the Incarnate Jesus who suffered, died, and rose again; and the significance of the long story of the biblical drama that has Jesus as its climax and ultimate purpose.

That's off topic, and probably not something the rules allow us to debate in depth here, but I'm not. There is nothing in Scripture to forbid a woman being authorised by the church to the office of elder (priest).

No; no human being holds that responsibility. Authority ultimately belongs to God, but insofar as human beings have to discern it, that is a shared responsibility.

I take it you mean abdicated. I'm not even sure who might be seen to have "abdicated" their authority to me.

Run the race. Fight the good fight. Keep the faith.

Energy chief suggests Trump administration is altering previously published climate reports; staff for next iteration all fired already

Something companies face every day when they fire someone.
He didn't know the guy had no tax expertise, even from a legislative standpoint?

That can only happen nowadays because the only qualification is loyalty to Donald, not expertise.

Putin and Trump meet in Alaska on Ukraine -- no results, meeting ends early, no questions taken at presser

Trump had promised 'severe consequences' to Putin if a ceasefire wasn't reached

....he conceded the demand he made just two weeks ago.

...so much for the sanctions on India for importing Russian oil.
...so much for the threats against any other country doing the same.

TACO. And Putin knows it.

Action on Gabbard Evidence, Ex-Obama officials face federal grand jury probe into whether they promoted false Trump-Russia ties

Trump wasn't in the government when he was talking about the Obama birther nonsense. Therefore, he didn't come close to committing treason, unlike Adam Schifft.
Neither one is an example of treason per our constitutional definition. Treason is when you help a country we are war with. We are not at war with Russia or China anymore than we are at war with Mexico or Canada.

And his name is Adam Schiff. No T.

Trump Threatens Federal Takeover of Washington After Member of DOGE Is Assaulted

President Donald Trump claimed without evidence early Monday that his predecessor’s pardons for members of the House select committee that investigated the Jan. 6, 2021, attacks on the Capitol are invalid because then-President Joe Biden didn’t use a real pen. And when asked on Monday if he has used autopen, the president said he has.
Without evidence? It is clear that many EO’s were signed with auto pen. There is evidence some were signed without Joe’s knowledge. All recent presidents have used it but not to the extent In Biden’s case. Your point that Trump says he has used the auto pen is a weak defense for what happened with Joe and a ridiculous comparison.

That Which is Born of the Spirit

Won't true contrition for sin produce a life without sin ?
Won't humility to God produce obedience to God ?
The answer is "Yes" to both questions.
Salvation IS the reward for our love for God and neighbor.

Stop right there.
My comments are about converted people.
That conversion can change, as actual salvation won't be assigned until the day of judgement/day of judgement.
That's new. I didn't know people who thought they were perfect (Matt 5:48) and holy (1 Pet 1:16) also thought they might not survive judgement.
I see no inconsistency here.
God cannot be tempted, but we can.
We are not God, just His children.
Jesus was tempted !
There is no way the devil's temptations could ever have been successful against Jesus just as it was impossible that death could hold Him (Ac 2:24).
"Only reflecting the attributes of Father" only applies to the fruit brought forth, as 1 John 3:9 makes clear.
Attributes and characteristics are two different things.
Your argument is circular in that the fruit of the Spirit include "love", "kindness", "goodness", "faithfulness", and "self-control" (Ga 5:22–23) but then you say these may not apply to a person when "he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed" (Jas 1:14).
As His offspring have crucified their past lusts, with the affections and flesh, (Gal 5:24); temptations/enticements have no power.
So you are correct.

What is the opposite of "legal" ?
Illegal !
Is that what you want to be ? Illegal ?
BTW, the only real legalists are those who want us to go back under the Mosaic Law.
Complete with circumcision, dietary rules, feast keeping, sabbath keeping, etc.
No, thinking and preaching that what began in the Spirit is perfected by the flesh is legalism (Ga 3:3).
Folks can claim they are converted all their lives, but salvation will only be granted at our resurrection; either to eternal life or eternal damnation.
It's not possible to undo what has already been declared. Those of us who have rested from our works and have placed all our hope in Christ (and have been verified to have done so by God who sees the thoughts and intents of the heart per Hebrews 4:11-13) have be saved (Eph 2:5, 8).
Everyday is a battle to remain on the narrow path, and there are many adversaries.
Heed the Lord's, and the apostle's exhortations and admonissions, and live forever.
"Drop your guard", and experience the lake of fire.
Our final judgement will be on how we lived: not on some self-repeated sayings.
Stepping back, I now must admit I am more confused than ever before about the doctrine of Sinless Perfection. Until now, I thought that it took 1 John 3:9 literally when it said the one born of God can not sin because His seed remains in him. Now, I see that succumbing to temptation is not impossible for the one born of God in the eyes of those who hold the doctrine. Now it appears that the doctrine is nothing more than to say we must avoid all sins to get into heaven. This would be impossible if there were no forgiveness of sins. Where does that play in?
