Border Surge Closes Lukeville Port, Arizona. Hobbs, Sinema, Kelly Ignore Calls For National Guard Deployment

Governor Hobbs, along with Senators Kyrsten Sinema and Mark Kelly acknowledged the crisis, but insisted only that the federal government take action.

How We Ought to Answer

“Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving. At the same time, pray also for us, that God may open to us a door for the word, to declare the mystery of Christ, on account of which I am in prison— that I may make it clear, which is how I ought to speak. Walk in wisdom toward outsiders, making the best use of the time. Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you ought to answer each person” (Colossians 4:2-6 ESV).

Prayer is not to be something we do just at mealtime or just when we have our times of personal devotions in the study of God’s word. To me, prayer is open communication with God 24/7 (24 hours a day, 7 days a week). And it is two-way communication with the Lord to where anytime of day or night we can speak to him and him to us about anything that is on his heart or on our hearts. So we can be talking with the Lord when we are driving down the street, or doing laundry, or watching small children, etc.

And we are to be watchful in it with thanksgiving. And this word “watchful” means to be spiritually awake, alert, vigilant, and responsible. We are not to just recite prayers off of a list, but we are to be spiritually alert to the needs all around us, and of the things that are of concern to the Lord that we should be bringing before him in prayer. And we shouldn’t be the ones doing all the talking, but we should have our minds and hearts ready to hear from the Lord regarding what he wants to teach us, too.

And we should pray for all those who are actively sharing the truth of the gospel of our salvation and who are ministering to the needs of the body of Christ, whether they be physical, emotional, and/or spiritual needs. So this is about praying for all those within the body of Christ who are sharing the gospel message, the whole counsel of God, and who are ministering God’s truths and his love and grace to their fellow Christians. But make certain that you are praying in the will of God and for those who are sharing truth.

I see far too many requests from different “Christian” organizations who want our financial and prayerful support in order for them to spread the gospel, but so many of them are not teaching the truth of the gospel but a man-made gospel which is an altered version of the true gospel. So I believe this is where this word “watchful” comes into play. Test those who say they are of God and that they are sharing the gospel to make certain what they are sharing is what Jesus and his NT apostles taught, in biblical context.

And this leads right into this next part, for those of us who are literally sharing the gospel message in its fulness (the whole counsel of God) appear to be far in the minority here in America. And we get opposed a lot. And so many people now are being trained to teach the altered gospel message and to oppose the truth of the gospel and to lead the people to reject the true message of the gospel and to embrace the lies, instead. And so we need people to pray for us for open doors to share the gospel in its fulness.

And, yes, pray for clarity of mind and heart so that we will be in tune with the Spirit’s voice and so that we will share what the Lord wants us to share at any given moment and opportunity which he grants us to share his gospel message with other humans. For it is critical that we speak the truth, and that we speak the critical factors of the gospel message and that we don’t leave out anything that it critical for people to hear in order to enter into genuine biblical relationships with Jesus Christ by God-given faith in him.

And all of us who believe in Jesus Christ should be sharing the truth of the gospel with others and we should be ministering to the needs of the body of Christ. And we should be walking in wisdom toward outsiders, making the best use of the time. So we need to be spiritually sensitive to those divine appointments our Lord gives to us to share his truths. But first of all we must be those who are walking the walk, who are not just talking it. We need to be obeying our Lord and living holy lives pleasing to him.

Now when this says that we are to let our speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, this never involves compromise of truth and righteousness so as not to offend people with the truth. We are to speak the truth of God’s word, but to do so in love. For grace is God’s gift to humankind, but that grace trains us to renounce (say “NO!” to) ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives. And kindness is never telling lies to people to make them feel good.

And if our speech is seasoned with salt, what does that mean? Well salt has to do with preserving and seasoning. And to season something can mean to mature it, to prepare it, to condition it. So this definitely can be related to helping fellow believers in Christ to maturity in their walks of faith, to help them to become sensible, responsible, and reliable servants of the Lord Jesus Christ. And to preserve is to protect, to maintain, to uphold, to keep, and to continue in, which is how all of us are to approach our faith in Christ.

And we are to let our speech be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that we may know how we ought to answer each person. So, we should be speaking the truths that Jesus and his NT apostles spoke, and what we share should include the fulness of the gospel message and the teachings on walks of maturity in Christ in spiritual growth, too. None of us should give a diluted gospel message out to people, but we should share all that is necessary to the proper instruction in righteousness and holiness and in godly living.

Jesus taught the gospel message when he said that if anyone would come after him, he must deny self, take up his cross daily (die daily to sin) and follow (obey) him. For if we hold on to our sins, we will lose our lives for eternity. But if for the sake of Jesus we deny self, die daily to sin, and follow our Lord in obedience, then we have eternal life with God. For Jesus died that we might die to sin and live to righteousness, and he died to free us from slavery to sin so we will now walk in obedience to his commands.

The Prayer

Written by David Foster, Carole Bayer Sager,
Alberto Testa and Tony Renis

I pray you'll be our eyes
And watch us where we go
And help us to be wise
In times when we don't know

I pray we'll find your light
And hold it in our hearts
When the stars go out each night
Remind us where you are.

Let this be our prayer
When shadows fill our day
Lead us to a place
Guide us with your grace
To a place where we'll be safe.

Myron Golden

Apparently, nature abhors a vacuum, and in the passing of Zig Ziglar a new Christian finance guru has risen to take his place.

Login to view embedded media
Description: In this video Myron Golden talks about the 4 levels of wealth: the implementation level, the management/unification level, the communication level, and the imagination level. He explains what income can be expected at each of the levels and talks about going from one level to another.

This model, in my opinion, reflects our current reality with the internet more than Biblical Principles. This may serve as a good introduction to Myron's thinking.

Login to view embedded media
Description: Myron Golden defends his business from his detractors who claim that he is a prosperity Gospel preacher. He goes back to the book of Genesis to defend himself, talking about gold in the Garden of Eden and Abraham's wealth as examples. He also translates Proverbs 22:29 as "Do you see a person skilled in his business? He will stand before kings; He will not stand before obscure people." to defend the idea that Christians are supposed to own their own businesses.

Basically I am seeing some iffyness with Myron's content:

1. He's claiming the name of Christ and using the authority of Scripture to back up points about wealth and starting a business. It's clear that's he has an agenda of trying to help people earn more money in order to sell them expensive courses and events, and that can drive him into eisegesis. Merging spiritual objectives and worldly ones may not work very well.

2. Myron's wealth is from selling his ideas of biblical wealth and prosperity, which is making his ideas circular.

3. He keeps talking about the example of Genesis, Abraham, and the Garden of Eden over and over again. If his ideas were sound, I think I would see him digging out more proofs from more sections of the Bible. While he does venture into the Ecclesiastes and Proverbs occasionally, I don't think he's fully considering the whole counsel of Scripture. I think the book of Job, as well as the fact that Christ lived most of His ministry in a state of poverty, are serious dents in his ideas.

I think this man may know a thing or two about business and he appears to be a practicing Christian, but I think the way that he's mixing his two areas of expertise (apparently he also has a theology degree and knows how to read Hebrew) is not really the best decision and it's causing him to compromise his knowledge.

Thoughts? I think the man is well intentioned, he just may not be going about what he is trying to do in the best way.

Prayers for a New Job

Hello friends,

Please pray for me to get a full time job with better pay, benefits, and less stress overall. Right now I'm working in a group home with foster kids and I'm about to start a social work internship in January. I can't keep working in my current position because two social work positions would be too much on me. My current job is already too much, because the kids I work with have previously physically assaulted me more than once. I'm literally afraid to go to work every time because there's always a problem. And worst of all, being at my current job makes me want to engage in self-harm because I feel trapped and like I have no way out.

I applied to a fast food place, and I might get the job, but the pay per month wouldn't even begin to cover my bills. I need to find some other way out of this. Lord, please give me the opportunity to move on and the strength to withstand my current position

Kari Lake explains why she believes Biden ‘intentionally’ botched the border

@KariLake
: "We're empowering the cartels right now. The more power we give them, the more money they're allowed to make by trafficking human beings. The more money they make, the more power they have, the more drugs they're able to get across any method they want."
It has been obvious for a long time that the Biden border policy is deliberate and that the administration is not telling the truth when they claim the border is closed or safe or secure.

Does anyone know if this is OCD or God?

Certain thoughts will get a sharp "prick" in response. Like a beesting, real physical pain. These pricks seem to indicate when a thought is wrong. Whenever I think that this may be wrong or anything that goes against the prick, I will get another. Its constant. And very present, in that it always happens. Could this be God? OCD? Demons? I am so lost.

Biden plan to house aliens in National Parks at taxpayer expense meets resistance

Look, I understand the "aliens, strangers, and foreigners" passages in the Scriptures. I understand the need for compassion. I know the Church's social teachings on this topic.

But how long can we keep this up? More than six million illegal aliens in three years? And no place to put them? Given the state of our economy right now, our ship of state is having a hard time staying afloat as it is; how many more should we take on? Are we expected to just bring in more and more and more people until the ship sinks? What good will that do for anybody? Us, them, the world?

Now Biden wants to build "temporary shelters" in the National Parks, heaven save us, to house these people, and pay for their upkeep with taxpayer funds. All I can see happening with this is a more or less permanent 3rd-world slum in every camp they build, the destruction of some of our most beautiful natural sites, and hordes of unassimilated, unemployed, non-English speaking foreigners sponging off the backs of the Americans who are struggling as it is to deal with ever-increasing inflation. And in the meantime, the Parks become degraded; the economy becomes ever more strained, and absolutely nothing is done for our own disadvantaged homeless citizens, such as veterans, the elderly, the mentally ill, etc.

If Joe and his pack of circus clowns want to spend Federal money on these people, don't spend it building shelters. Spend it by leasing a fleet of cargo container ships, load these people aboard, and send them back where they came from.

There. I've said it. I know it makes me a horrible person, a racist, a bigot, a whatever they want to call me. But I don't see how we can go on just bringing more and more people in here when we're rapidly losing the ability to take care of the ones we've got.

Jerusalem and Bethlehem to join Jordan in solemn Christmas

Christmas in the Holy Land will feature "no gifts, no celebrations, no fireworks or festivities – just a babe born on a deep winter night under a bright star."

As the conflict between Hamas and Israel continues to cause turmoil in the Holy Land, more cities have decided to forego mirthful and joyous Christmas celebrations to stand in solidarity with those who have lost their lives, as well as those who mourn the fallen. The move to cancel public Christmas festivities was first made by Jordan, in early November, and now both Jerusalem and Bethlehem have followed suit.

Aleteia previously reported that the move to cancel festivities was initiated by the Council of Church Leaders in Jordan, a group that works to maintain interfaith relations in one of the most diverse nations in the Middle East. The council decision means there will be no holiday markets, caroling, public Christmas tree displays, concerts, or public distribution of gifts to children.

While the national celebration of the secular Christmas traditions has been canceled, Christians are invited to place all their focus on the religious Christmas celebrations in churches. Father Rifat Bader, director of the Catholic Center for Studies and Media in the Jordanian capital, described how Christmas will look in Jordan in 2023:

Firefighters Crawl Across Frozen Lake and Save Stranded Deer Using a Curling Technique–WATCH

Every year, the frozen lakes of the North pose challenges for emergency teams called in to rescue people or animals on thin ice.

But this is the first time we’ve heard about innovative firefighters using a technique from an Olympic sport.

Worried locals in Minnesota called the Prior Lake Fire Department after they spied a large deer stuck on Pike Lake.

The animal could not stand up on the slippery surface of the ice and its legs were poking holes into the frigid lake.

The firefighters arrived and devised a plan to use a curling technique to push the deer to shore using a Y-shaped pole.

First, they had to reach the animal by crawling on their hands and knees.

Seal of God or marked

Seal of God or
mark of the beast

In the end we will be in two groups, and we will either have the Seal of God or by default will receive the mark of the beast.

What is a beast? Scripture answers that….

Daniel 7:23 “He gave me this explanation: ‘The fourth beast is a fourth kingdom that will appear on earth. It will be different from all the other kingdoms and will devour the whole earth, trampling it down and crushing it.

A kingdom is a political power and examples of these are in the dream of Nebuchadnezzar. The last kingdom is mixed with clay We are told this beast is one that thinks to change times and laws Daniel 7:25

So we know that the that the beast is a political power and one that thinks to change times and laws so they have replaced God’s law with their own laws.

What is the mark of the beast over?

Revelation 14:9 Then a third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, “If anyone worships the beast and his image, and receives his mark on his forehead or on his hand, 10 he himself shall also drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out full strength into the cup of His indignation. He shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb. 11 And the smoke of their torment ascends forever and ever; and they have no rest day or night, who worship the beast and his image, and whoever receives the mark of his name.”

Clearly the mark of the beast is over worship. So we have a political power who thinks to change times and laws and it has to do with worship. Those who receive this mark have no rest.

So there is false worship and true worship and to receive the mark are those who worship in vain (false worship) or by default do not worship God in Truth and Spirit which is what we are called to do John 4:23-24

What is false worship?

Jesus answers this question clearly…

Matthew 15:3 He answered and said to them, “Why do you also transgress the commandment of God because of your tradition? 4 For God commanded, saying, ‘Honor your father and your mother’; and, ‘He who curses father or mother, let him be put to death.’ 5 But you say, ‘Whoever says to his father or mother, “Whatever profit you might have received from me is a gift to God”— 6 then he need not honor his father or mother.’ Thus you have made the commandment of God of no effect by your tradition. 7 Hypocrites! Well did Isaiah prophesy about you, saying:

8 ‘These people draw near to Me with their mouth,
And honor Me with their lips,
But their heart is far from Me.
(opposite of the new covenant Heb 8:10)
9 And in vain they worship Me,
Teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.’ ”

Mark 7:6 He answered and said to them, “Well did Isaiah prophesy of you hypocrites, as it is written:

This people honors Me with their lips,
But their heart is far from Me.
7 And in vain they worship Me,
Teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.’

This ties nicely with the beast that thinks to change times and laws and Jesus in His own Words said those who keep their traditions over the commandments of God quoting directly from the Ten Commandments worship in vain (false worship)

If false worship is obeying our rules over the commandments of God, which was personally written and spoken by God Exo 32:16 Exo 31:18, Deut 4:12 than true worship must be keeping the commandments of God.

Lets go back to Revelation and see how this plays outs….

False worship:
Revelation 14:9 9 Then a third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, “If anyone worships the beast and his image, and receives his mark on his forehead or on his hand, 10 he himself shall also drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out full strength into the cup of His indignation. He shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb. 11 And the smoke of their torment ascends forever and ever; and they have no rest day or night, who worship the beast and his image, and whoever receives the mark of his name.”

Compare this to the very next verse, that is the fruit of a saved person (Gods saints)
True worship:
Revelation 4:12 Here is the patience of the saints; here are those who keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus.

True worship are those who keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus.

Jesus already defined the commandments of God as He quoted directly from the Ten Commandments when He defined false worship – obeying our rules over the commandments of God. What is the faith of Jesus. Notice it does not say faith in Jesus but faith of Jesus. What was the faith Jesus had? How did He walk as our example. Jesus also kept the commandments of God John 15:10 and we are to follow the example Jesus left for us and mirror His faith. 1 John 2:6

So in summary….
  • The beast is a political power/mixed with religious power Dan 2:43
  • It thinks to change times and laws Dan 7:25
  • It changed God’s law Exo 20:8-11 and replaced it with traditions
  • Jesus calls this worshipping in vain (false worship) Mat 15:3-9 Mark 7:7-8
  • In following this one will receive a mark of their authority (who we worship) during the time when this mark is mandatory Rev 14

Can we find this beast and mark through history……who thought to change times and laws.

The Sabbath is the only thing that fits this description, as it is both a time every seventh day (Saturday) Sabbath Exodus 20:10 and a law, the 4th commandment Exo 20:8-11 written in this same unit Jesus defined when we keep our traditions over God’s commandments, we worship in vain.

Was the Sabbath changed? Yes and the institution that changed it admits they did so, on their own authority, not God’s. God said not to add or subtract from His commandments Deut 4:2 Pro 30:5-6

Question: Which is the Sabbath day?
Answer: Saturday is the Sabbath day.
Question:
Why do we observe Sunday instead of Saturday?
Answer: We observe Sunday instead of Saturday because the Catholic Church transferred the solemnity from Saturday to Sunday.
—Rev. Peter Geiermann C.SS.R., The Convert’s Catechism of Catholic Doctrine, p. 50

They claim the change of God’s commandments is a mark of their authority.

Of course the Catholic Church claims that the change was her act. And the act is a mark of her ecclesiastical power and authority in religious matters.—C. F. Thomas, Chancellor of Cardinal Gibbons, in answer to a letter regarding the change of the Sabbath, November 11, 1895.

And they are above the Bible (God's Word)

Deny the authority of the Church and you have no adequate or reasonable explanation or justification for the substitution of Sunday for Saturday in the Third - Protestant Fourth - Commandment of God... The Church is above the Bible, and this transference of Sabbath observance is proof of that fact.—Catholic Record, September 1, 1923.

Scripture tells us His Word (the Bible) is the light to our path Psa 119:105

In the end we will either receive the seal of God or the mark of the beast, the one who changed God’s law. We clearly see that the law of the Sabbath was changed just as predicted and not by God Dan 7:25 but we are close to living in the last days and are called out of our false teachings Rev 18:4 as we must worship Him in Truth and Spirit John 4:23-24

What is the seal of God and how do we receive it. If the mark is changing the law of the Sabbath commandment that is the mark of authority of the church who changed it and admits changed it based on their authority which is above the bible (God’s Word) that means the Sabbath has to be the seal of God.

If we look at the Sabbath is has the seal of God written right in it.

“The Sabbath of the fourth commandment is the seal of the living God. It points to God as the Creator, and is the sign of His rightful authority over the beings He has made. Those who obey this law will bear the seal of God, for He has set apart this day as a sign of loyalty between Himself and His people.”

The seal of God’s law is found in the fourth commandment. This only, of all the ten, brings to view both the name and the title of the Lawgiver. It declares Him to be the Creator of the heavens and the earth, and thus shows His claim to reverence and worship above all other

Exodus 20:8 Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. 9 Six days you shall labor and do all your work, 10 but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord your God (Title). In it you shall do no work: you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger who is within your gates. 11 For in six days the Lord made (Creator) the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them (Territory), and rested the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it.

The Sabbath contains the three elements of a seal:
Name: Lord thy God
Title: Creator
Territory: Heaven and Earth

What does God say when we keep the Sabbath…

Ezekiel 20:12 Moreover I also gave them My Sabbaths, to be a sign between them and Me, that they might know that I am the Lord who sanctifies them.

Ezekiel 20:20 20 hallow My Sabbaths, and they will be a sign between Me and you, that you may know that I am the Lord your God.’

Isaiah 8:16 Bind up the testimony, Seal the law among my disciples.

What does the Sabbath do? It points us to God the Creator and in keeping His Sabbath there is a sign between God and His people that we worship the One True God, the only God of Creation and the only God who has the power to sanctify.

The mark of the beast has their mark and they changed God’s law. But when we hallow God’s Sabbath, He gives us His sign that we are worshipping the God of Creation, the one True God.

Our time is short, and we can follow man, but we really need to be transformed into God’s World and God gave us His commandments that He wrote, and He spoke and are placed under His mercy seat revealed in heaven Rev 11:19 and no man has authority above God to change His times and laws. Just like there was a test in the Garden over a tree, we also have our test over our worship. It’s not just about a day, it's about the authority behind who we obey, a test of our loyalty to God, the Creator or following mans traditions in lieu of obeying God, the way He asks.

Revelation 14 calls us to worship our Creator and the Sabbath is the sign of His Creative and Redemptive power that no other god can match.

Revelation 14:7 saying with a loud voice, “Fear God and give glory to Him, for the hour of His judgment has come; and worship Him who made heaven and earth, the sea and springs of water.”

This is a direct quote from the Sabbath commandment Exo 20:11 which points us back to the God of Creation.

Ecc 12:13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter:
Fear God and keep His commandments,
For this is man’s all.

God has people in all churches, but we are told to come out of our false teachings Rev 18:4 as we must worship Him in Truth and Spirit. John 4:23-24 and all of God's commandments are Truth Psa 119:151 His version, Exo 20, not ours.

What home schooling hides: A boy tortured and starved by his stepmom

Roman Lopez was 11 when he went missing. His years of torment were concealed by home schooling.

(gift article, but reading it may not be an enjoyable gift.)

The police were searching, too, and now they had returned to the place where Roman had gone missing earlier that day: his family’s rented home in Placerville, Calif. Roman’s stepmother, Lindsay Piper, hesitated when officers showed up at her door the night of Jan. 11, 2020, asking to comb the house again. But she had told them that Roman liked to hide in odd places — even the clothes dryer — and agreed to let them in.

Brock Garvin, Roman’s 15-year-old stepbrother, was sitting in the dimly lit basement when police came downstairs shortly after 10:30 p.m. He ignored them, he said later, watching “Supernatural” on television as three officers began inspecting the black-and-yellow Home Depot storage bins stacked along the back wall.

Brock had no idea what had happened to Roman. But he did know something the police did not: Much of what his mother had said to them that day was a lie.

Home education was an easy way to avoid the scrutiny of such people [mandatory reporters in schools]. That was the case for Piper, whose children were learning less from her about math and history than they were about violence, cruelty and neglect.

Almost nothing resembling education took place, her sons said. But there was a shared project in which she diligently led her children: the torture of their stepbrother, Roman.

Little research exists on the links between home schooling and child abuse. The few studies conducted in recent years have not shown that home-schooled children are at significantly greater risk of mistreatment than those who attend public, private or charter schools.

But the research also suggests that when abuse does occur in home-school families, it can escalate into especially severe forms — and that some parents exploit lax home education laws to avoid contact with social service agencies.

But home-school parents, arguing that serious episodes of abuse are rare, have fiercely resisted [efforts at oversight]. And nowhere have their efforts been more successful than in the state where Roman and his siblings spent most of their lives: Michigan.

Michigan is one of 11 states in which parents are not even required to tell anyone they are home schooling, let alone demonstrate they are teaching their children anything.

The family had moved to California from Michigan just a few months [before the police search]

Then the lid on one last bin snapped open, and the officers’ laughter stopped.

Even in his benumbed state Brock felt something strange pass through the room, as if the air pressure had suddenly dropped. It was quiet for a moment, then the police began pulling on latex gloves.

Lindsay pleaded no contest to a charge of second-degree murder last year and was sentenced to 15 years to life in prison. [Her husband and biological father of Roman] Jordan pleaded guilty in October to the same charge and is awaiting sentencing. He is already serving a 15-year sentence after pleading guilty to a federal charge of sexually exploiting a child.

Is this spiritual abuse?

Why is there such an emphasis in asking new converts or people who have newly joined a church to become a church worker/volunteer instead of there being an emphasis on building them up spiritually and what can be done to address it? This has happened to me many times as I've attempted to join a new church and looking back, I realize how harmful it was for me spiritually to be pressured to join a church worker group when I was just newly returning to Christ as a baby Christian. Instead of learning and focusing on the basics of the faith to be built up in them, I was busy as a church worker, and the mistakes I made, spiritual abuse I suffered, and the events that followed were a result of not knowing and understanding basic principles of the faith such as the importance of forgiveness, the importance of growing in the fruit of the spirit, bearing trials patiently, etc. Is it a form of spiritual abuse to push new converts to just quickly become a church worker instead of focusing on discipling them?

For the Sake of His Body

“Now I rejoice in my sufferings for your sake, and in my flesh I am filling up what is lacking in Christ's afflictions for the sake of his body, that is, the church, of which I became a minister according to the stewardship from God that was given to me for you, to make the word of God fully known, the mystery hidden for ages and generations but now revealed to his saints. To them God chose to make known how great among the Gentiles are the riches of the glory of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory. For this I toil, struggling with all his energy that he powerfully works within me” (Colossians 1:24-29 ESV).

Do you know that all of us who are of genuine faith in Jesus Christ are called of God to be ministers to the body of Christ, his church? This is why we are all given spiritual gifts, that we might use them to minister to the body of Christ for our mutual edification and spiritual growth in the Spirit of God. And we are all necessary to the proper working of the body in order that we might all grow up to maturity in Christ, as each part does its work. And God has a body part assigned to each one of us of genuine faith in Christ Jesus.

And we are to be those who are speaking the truth in love to one another so that we are not led astray by humans in their cunning and craftiness and deceitful scheming who are teaching the Scriptures out of context, and who are twisting the Scriptures to say what they do not say in context, and for the full purpose to deceive and to lead people away from genuine God-honoring faith in Jesus Christ to follow the lies. And we are to speak truth so we can all grow up spiritually in our relationships with Jesus Christ.

And we are to be filled with the Spirit, addressing one another in psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs. And we are to let the word of Christ dwell in us richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom. And we are to exhort one another EVERY DAY so that none of us are hardened by the deceitfulness of sin. And we are to consider how we may stir one another up (provoke one another) to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together wherever God provides a meeting place for us.

[Romans 12:1-8; 1 Corinthians 12:1-31; Galatians 6:1; Ephesians 2:8-10; Ephesians 4:1-16; Ephesians 5:15-21; Philippians 2:1-8; Colossians 3:16; Titus 2:11-14; Hebrews 3:13; Hebrews 10:23-25; James 5:19-20]

So, it isn’t just people who are called “pastor” or “elder” who are supposed to be the ministers to the church. All of us who believe in Jesus with God-persuaded faith are to be using our spiritual gifts to minister to the body of Christ, and we all have a part if we are walking in obedience to our Lord in living holy lives pleasing to him, and if we are not walking in deliberate and habitual sin against the Lord and against our fellow humans. And we will face suffering, too, when we minister to the church in righteousness.

And all of us should be sharing the Scriptures with one another as an encouragement to one another toward our maturity in our walks of faith in Jesus Christ. And we should be sharing with one another what the Lord is teaching us through his word and how he is working in our lives. And we should be praying for one another, especially that we might all walk in obedience to our Lord, and not in sin, and that we might all serve the Lord Jesus with our lives, and not live for ourselves.

But we must be walking in that truth, not necessarily in absolute perfection, but in practice. And we must be students of the Scriptures who are diligent to read them in their context and to make certain that we are listening to the voice of the Holy Spirit as he speaks to us through the word of the Lord. We must not be followers of man (flesh) but of the Spirit of God in what he has to say to us through the Scriptures so that we are following after the truth and not the lies that so many are spewing forth these days.

And we need to be people of God who do not shy away from sharing the hard lessons and the hard truths of the Scriptures, but who teach the full counsel of God and not just the stuff that makes people feel good. We also must not be afraid to share the many warnings that there are in the Scriptures written to the body of Christ, for there are many warnings and cautions which we must all heed. For the whole goal of our ministry should be that we may present everyone mature in Christ.

And we, too, should be those who toil, struggling with all the energy we have in Christ Jesus, to make certain that what we are presenting is the truth, as best we understand it, and that we are not people who dilute and alter the truth so as not to offend people. For a deliberate half-truth is a lie, if it is truth that must be shared in order to speak the real truth of the gospel of our salvation. For far too many people are altering the truth of the gospel or they are cutting it short in order to not offend the ungodly.

So, we must be people of integrity who are seekers of truth, who follow the truth of the Lord with our own lives and who do not shy away from sharing the whole truth with others. For the gospel message is that we must die with Christ to sin and be raised with him to walk in newness of life in him, no longer as slaves to sin but as slaves to God and to his righteousness. And sin should no longer have mastery over our lives to where we obey its desires, for if sin is what we obey, it leads to death, not to life eternal with God.

Oh, to Be Like Thee, Blessed Redeemer

Lyrics by Thomas O. Chisholm, 1897
Music by W. J. Kirkpatrick, 1897

Oh, to be like Thee! blessèd Redeemer,
This is my constant longing and prayer;
Gladly I’ll forfeit all of earth’s treasures,
Jesus, Thy perfect likeness to wear.

Oh, to be like Thee! full of compassion,
Loving, forgiving, tender and kind,
Helping the helpless, cheering the fainting,
Seeking the wandering sinner to find.

O to be like Thee! lowly in spirit,
Holy and harmless, patient and brave;
Meekly enduring cruel reproaches,
Willing to suffer others to save.

O to be like Thee! while I am pleading,
Pour out Thy Spirit, fill with Thy love;
Make me a temple meet for Thy dwelling,
Fit me for life and Heaven above.

Oh, to be like Thee! Oh, to be like Thee,
Blessèd Redeemer, pure as Thou art;
Come in Thy sweetness, come in Thy fullness;
Stamp Thine own image deep on my heart.

The Theology of the Holy Spirit

The Theology of the Holy Spirit - also referred to as Pneumatology is the Study of the Holy Spirit.

The term comes from the Greek "pneuma" and "logos" meaning; idea, word, speech. study. What is the role of the Holy Spirit in the life of the Christian. Let's look together at a number of different aspects of the Holy Spirit, his interaction with man and then the Baptism of the Holy Spirit that uniquely empowers the Believer for spiritual service, deeper intimacy with God and Holy living.

As we travel down this path together, it is an interesting observation how God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit act in a majority of Scripture. The observer will find time and again that Divine works originate with the Father, are carried out by the Son, and brought to completion by the Spirit.

Example:

We know in Genesis 1 that God created the Earth and everything there in -

Look here in
John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. 4 In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. 5 And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.
6 There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. 7 This man came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all through him might believe. 8 He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light. 9 That was the true Light which gives light to every man coming into the world. 10 He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and the world did not know Him. 11 He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him. 12 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: 13 who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. 14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.
Here we see very plainly that Jesus is referred to as "The Word of God" and He became flesh. But we also see that all things were made through Jesus.

Here in Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2 The earth was without form, and void; and darkness [a]was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.

We also see the Holy Spirit had a role in creation also.

As we continue, we will see that Divine weaving throughout Scripture.

I hope this study helps you get closer to God!

That Their Hearts May be Encouraged

“For I want you to know how great a struggle I have for you and for those at Laodicea and for all who have not seen me face to face, that their hearts may be encouraged, being knit together in love, to reach all the riches of full assurance of understanding and the knowledge of God's mystery, which is Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. I say this in order that no one may delude you with plausible arguments. For though I am absent in body, yet I am with you in spirit, rejoicing to see your good order and the firmness of your faith in Christ.
“Therefore, as you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in him, rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving” (Colossians 2:1-7 ESV).

If we are true ministers of the truth of the gospel of Christ to the people of God who believe in Jesus Christ, and to the people of this world, especially in the day and time in which we live, we should be experiencing persecutions and opposition, and we should have our eyes and ears open to what is going on in the world and in the Christian community, and coming from the opposing forces against us and against the Christian faith and against all those who would step out in genuine walks of faith in Jesus Christ, our Lord.

And we should be those who genuinely struggle for the truth of the gospel to get out to the people, for so many people now are teaching lies and/or are believing the lies of the enemy rather than the truth of God’s word. Lies and deception and distortions of truth and mind manipulation abound everywhere you look. And so many people are putting blind trust in those not of God and in those who teach lies, and they are being led astray from purity of devotion to Christ to follow after the gods of this world.

And all of this should grieve us. And we should have great concern for the body of Christ and for the people of this world that they would hear the truth and that they would believe the truth, and that they would walk in the truth and in righteousness and in obedience to the Lord, and that they would not fall prey to the lies of the enemy. And we should be diligent about getting the truth out to as many as who will listen, for the lies are drowning out the truth, for the lies tickle itching ears and they pacify the sinful flesh.

And so it should be our earnest desire to reach as many as possible with the truth, for it is the truth which saves, not the lies. And it is the truth which gives life, not the feel-good messages so many people are preaching today in order to appease human flesh and to not offend the ungodly of this world. For “encouragement” is not just all feel-good stuff, but it is exhortation, and it is holy urging, and it is speaking the truth in love to people and not the lies that soothe their consciences and which give them permission to sin.

It should burden our hearts that so many are being deluded (tricked, deceived, duped) and led astray by plausible arguments which are in opposition to the truth of the gospel and in opposition to the truth of God’s word. And our hearts’ desire should be to get the truth out to as many as possible so that they will reach all the riches of full assurance of understanding and the knowledge of God’s mystery, which is Christ and the truth that Jesus taught to the people when he lived on this earth.

For, it is not enough to just profess Jesus Christ as Lord and as Savior of our lives, but we are to walk in him and in the truth of his word and in the truth of the gospel which he taught, and which his NT apostles taught, which is not the gospel that is so popularized today, at least here in America. And to walk in Christ is to conduct our lives in practice in honesty, integrity, moral purity, uprightness, faithfulness, and in obedience to our Lord and to his commandments under the New Covenant.

Obedience to our Lord and holy living and moral purity are to be how we live, in practice, and not in sin. And we should be seekers of truth and of righteousness who love the word of God and who are following the teachings of Christ and of his NT apostles which are directed to followers of Christ, i.e. to the church, the body of Christ. And then we should be those who are sharing the truth of God’s word with others so that they can also come to know Jesus Christ personally and then walk in his ways and in his truth.

And we should do this even if we are hated and persecuted and rejected and falsely accused and mistreated and lied about, in return, for that is what Paul experienced, and that is what Jesus experienced. For Jesus said that if we follow him with our lives that we are going to be treated in much the same way as what he was treated. But we are to rejoice that we are counted worthy to share in the fellowship of the sufferings of Christ, our Lord, becoming like him in his death, and for the sake of the gospel.

Hear my Voice

An Original Work / July 9, 2012
Based off Psalm 27

The Lord is my great salvation.
He’s the stronghold of my life.
When my enemies attack me,
My heart will not fear at all.
Though a war break out against me,
Confident in Christ I’ll be.
Of the Lord, I ask that I may
Live with Him eternally.

Hear my voice, Lord, when I call you.
Merciful to me You’ll be.
Though my relatives forsake me,
My Lord God will receive me.
Teach me Your way, O my Jesus.
Lead me in Your righteousness.
I will sacrifice to my Lord.
I will sing with joyfulness.

I am confident that I will
See the goodness of the Lord.
All the richness of His blessings,
My Lord has for me in store.
He asks me to be of courage;
To be strong and to take heart,
Patiently as I wait for Him,
And from Him to ne’er depart.

The severe ultimatum…..

1 John 2:4 (NASB20)
The one who says, “I have come to know Him,” and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him;

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Scripture puts forth a rather severe ultimatum with this truth; ‘if one does not, one does not’…. For regardless of what one says, or claims about oneself, if one does not, one does not….
Truth puts forth such a severe ultimatum because of this simple truth; God lives in righteousness, and can only reveal Himself to those willing to live where He lives…. There is no getting around this truth, if one would know God one must be willing to live in righteousness…. For only to the degree that one does to that degree can God reveal Himself….. One might know all scripture, be able to dissect the definition of words, be a great orator, be a great articulate-er of the letter of scripture, but scripture itself puts forth a whole different criteria, that criteria being, one needs to walk in righteousness if one is to know Him…. For knowing about God and knowing God being two totally different things, each being proved by the fruit that is brought forth….
One being that which elevates self, the other being that which elevates Christ….. For in the doing of righteousness Christ is elevated, therefore as scripture says by the doing of righteousness will He be known….
How then is one to live if one would know Him…?
Scripture puts forth the only way;
That being the way of faith, trusting Christ to live His life of righteousness in and through one….
Blessings as we know Him, by He, living our lives, Not me
