i visited a local Assembly of God here in Sequoyah County Okla. last weeks mid week service and again yesterday morning , i saw no evidence of the Holy Ghost, no gifts of the Spirit , no prayer to invite his presence , no place to kneel and pray, the worship service had recoded music that was uninviting . what has happened to the old time Pentecostal , singing and shouting and the moving of the spirit ?

Christians are being violently persecuted across the globe while world governments and international bodies continue to ignore the crisis, said a top Vatican diplomat, Archbishop Paul Richard Gallagher, accusing the United Nations and its member states of failing to respond to what he described as the world’s most severe and widespread religious persecution.

Archbishop Gallagher, the Holy See’s secretary for relations with states, told the U.N. General Assembly last week that more than 360 million Christians live in places where they face high levels of discrimination and violence, according to Catholic News Agency.

He said the attacks have increased in recent years and include destruction of churches, imprisonment, forced displacement and killings.

“The data show that Christians are the most persecuted religious group worldwide,” Gallagher said. “Yet the international community seems to be turning a blind eye to their plight.” He also criticized the erosion of religious freedom more broadly, calling it one of the most urgent threats to peace.

John Durham, the former special counsel who spent nearly four years examining the origins of the FBI investigation into President Donald Trump's 2016 presidential campaign and its alleged ties to Russia, told federal prosecutors investigating James Comey that he was unable to uncover evidence that would support false statements or obstruction charges against the former FBI director, sources familiar with the matter told ABC News.

Federal prosecutors in Virginia met remotely with Durham in August to understand the findings of his investigation, according to sources familiar with the meeting, and his conclusions raise the prospect that Durham -- who was once elevated by Trump and other Republicans believing he would prosecute high-level officials involved with the investigation of the president's 2016 campaign -- could now become a key figure aiding Comey's defense.

The prosecutors also met with a team of lawyers at the U.S. Attorney's Office in Washington, D.C., who had investigated Comey for years -- including calling him to testify before a grand jury in 2021 -- but were unable to identify any chargeable offenses committed by Comey, sources familiar with the meeting said.

Sister Norma Pimentel is known as “the immigrants’ nun.” For over a decade, she has directed the Catholic Charities of the Rio Grande Valley (CCRGV) Humanitarian Respite Center, a humanitarian aid center located in McAllen, Texas, on the border with Mexico. From there, she has provided assistance to people who arrive in the United States seeking asylum.

According to Pimentel, the increase in arrests by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to expel immigrants who lack legal status in the country has unleashed a climate of fear in communities.

‘Raids are taking place everywhere’​

“People are extremely afraid ... they know that nowhere is safe, they pick you up anywhere, and you can’t even go to the supermarket because raids are taking place everywhere,” the religious explained.

Last year, the center received a legal request from the Texas attorney general’s office to compel a CCRGV representative to sit for a deposition regarding its immigrant assistance efforts, although the case was subsequently dismissed by a judge.

Pimentel said the sense of widespread fear has also spread to other residents of the Rio Grande Valley. I would like to hear from you all what you thought of the five points I posted. Did you think of anything else when you read the paragraphs? How do the things that Bushnell discusses and points out in her book differ from what you have heard from others or in church?

In tbe last 5 years I have noticed people in my peer group at church (early 50's agewise) have been more distant. We used to get together for potlucks, Bible study and hang out at times. People don't keep their potluck dates anymore. There is no longer any Bible study for my peers. At church only 2 people in my peer group ask me any questions. I am the one that asks the questions or they walk by me without saying anything. This year in 2025, my good friend forgets dates in my life and I am the one to typically initiate communication. Are other people finding this, especially those in their 50's. I feel invisible at times. Is this a spiritual battle or just what happens in the age range of 47 to 55?

God loves you. Jesus loves you. God has not forgot you. Even though you may be all alone. And think your days are over .Or that nobody remember you. GOD DOES. He wants you to take new steps with him full of joy. Trust him, and he will pave the road. No matter how hard now, He will create a new way. There is a plan and destiny for you too. It does not matter age. looks. jobs. money. He will. do. it. Today, know you have God on your side.

This is from the Old Testament, but the New Testament writings teach the same truths. To come to God and to put our faith in Jesus Christ, who is the second person of our triune God – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit – it requires that, by God-gifted and God-persuaded faith in the Lord Jesus, we forsake our sinful practices and that we now follow our Lord in walks of obedience to his commands, in surrender to his will and to his purpose for our lives.

For God’s grace is not just forgiveness of sins and the promise of eternal life with God based on a profession of faith in Jesus Christ only. God’s grace, which is bringing us salvation, is training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives while we wait for our Lord’s return (see Titus 2:11-14). And his grace sent Jesus to the cross to put our sins to death with him so that, by faith in him, we will die to sin and now walk in obedience to our Lord in surrender to his will.

For Jesus Christ taught that to come to him we must deny self, take up our cross daily (die daily to sin), and follow (obey) him. For if we hold on to living in sin and for self, we will lose our lives for eternity. But if we deny self, die daily to sin, by the Spirit, and we walk in obedience to our Lord and to his commands, in his power, then we have eternal life with God. For not everyone who calls him “Lord” will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one DOING (obeying) the will of God (see Luke 9:23-26; Matthew 7:21-23).

For by God-gifted faith in Jesus Christ, which is not of our own doing, we are crucified with Christ in death to sin and raised with Christ to walk in newness of life in him, no longer to live as slaves to sin but as slaves to righteousness in walks of obedience to God’s commands. We are no longer to permit sin to reign in our mortal bodies to make us obey its desires. For if sin is what we obey, it results in death. But if obedience to God is what we obey, it results in sanctification, and its end is eternal life with God (see Romans 6:1-23).

So, faith in Jesus Christ is not lip service only. It is not just a verbal confession of Jesus Christ as Lord and of his bodily resurrection. It is not just words we say in a prayer to “receive Christ,” either. And it is not a one-time event which takes place in our lives which secures us heaven for eternity, but regardless of how we live. For how we live determines whether or not our faith is of the flesh or if it is of God, and if it aligns with the biblical gospel, or if it does not. And that determines our eternal destiny.

For we learn in 1 John 1-3 that if we claim that we have fellowship with God, but yet we walk in darkness (sin), we are liars. If we claim that we know God, but we do not obey his commandments, in practice, we are liars. For it is not the one who claims he is “in Christ” who is “in Christ,” but it is the one who has denied self, died with Christ to sin, and who is now walking in obedience to our Lord and to his commands, in practice, and no longer in sin. We have the hope and the promise of eternal life with God in heaven.

For our thoughts are not the same as God’s thoughts, and our ways are not the same as his ways. But God’s ways are higher than our ways, and his thoughts are higher than our thoughts. So we do not get to define faith and salvation and forgiveness of sins and eternal life with God according to our own fleshly thinking, according to our own will and purpose. But we need to define all of that according to the teachings of the Scriptures, but taught in their correct biblical context, and not out of context.

For many charlatans and wolves in sheep’s clothing dwell among us who are distorting the truth of the Scriptures by teaching them out of their correct biblical context in order to make them say what they want them to say. So it is important that we are students of the Scriptures who read and interpret them according to their correct biblical context. Both in the Old Testament and in the New Testament we are taught that biblical faith involves us dying to sin and walking in obedience to our Lord’s commands. Know the truth!

Peace in Christ.

We are to be raised up together by Him and made to sit together in heavenlies (Greek: epouranios = above heavenlies) in Christ Jesus.

Eph 2:5-6
(5) Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved
(6) And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:

We are to be seated with Christ above the heavenlies….far above all principality and power and might and dominion and every name that is named, not only in this AGE but also that age that is to come. He gives us power over the nations when we sit with Him at the right hand of God. We sit in His throne with Him.

Eph 1:20-22
(20) Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places (ABOVE the Heavenlies),
(21) Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world (AGE), but also in that which is to come:
(22) And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church,

This is why KINGS shall come to the brightness of our rising. The kings of this earth shall see Him shine through us and come to His light.

Isa 60:2-3 KJV
(2) For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the LORD shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee.
(3) And the Gentiles shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy rising.

Kings shall SEE and arise….princes shall also worship Him.

They once despised Him/us and were once a servant of them…the rulers of this earth.

But we are to arise and shine…to manifest His glory to them. We are be a light to the nations of this world so that they be saved. They will then see Him and come to the light that we shall shine to them.

Isa 49:6-7 KJV
(6) And he said, It is a light thing that thou shouldest be my servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob, and to restore the preserved of Israel: I will also give thee for a light to the Gentiles, that thou mayest be my salvation unto the end of the earth.
(7) Thus saith the LORD, the Redeemer of Israel, and his Holy One, to him whom man despiseth, to him whom the nation abhorreth, to a servant of rulers,
Kings shall see and arise, princes also shall worship, because of the LORD that is faithful, and the Holy One of Israel, and he shall choose thee.

His visage…His view…is being currently “marred” so that they cannot see Him. The man-based churches are not shining the glory light to the people of this earth.

Yet, when He raises us up with Him, then kings shall shut their mouths at Him for what they had not been told they shall SEE and what they had not heard they shall consider. We are to manifest His “view” to them so that they may see His glory and consider it.

Isa 52:13-15 KJV
(13) Behold, my servant shall deal prudently, he shall be exalted and extolled, and be very high.
(14) As many were astonied at thee; his visage was so marred more than any man, and his form more than the sons of men:
(15) So shall he sprinkle many nations; the kings shall shut their mouths at him: for that which had not been told them shall they see; and that which they had not heard shall they consider.

When He shall appear (being made manifest in our mortal flesh to the people of this world), we shall also appear with Him in glory.

Col 3:4 KJV
(4) When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.

In His “times”…set occasions, God will SHOW our Lord Jesus Christ to them...the kings and lords of this earth. He will show to them…the kings of this earth… through us who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings and Lord of lords.

And the kings shall SEE Him (shining through us) and will arise….princes shall also worship Him.

1Ti 6:14-16 KJV
(14) That thou keep this commandment without spot, unrebukeable, until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ:
(15) Which in his times he shall shew, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords;
(16) Who only hath immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto; whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom be honour and power everlasting. Amen.

Currently though, the man-based churches where they are serving their handwritings of dogmas (such as a statement of faith) are not manifesting His “view” to the people of this world. His “visage” …His view …is being currently marred by them so that the people of the outside world have no desire to come to Him.

The earth became without form….the form of Christ…and void…void of the knowledge of the glory of God. We have no light to shine to the people of the outside world (the “earth”)….as we.,.His people…the “heavens”,,, have no light. His people are foolish and have no understanding and are not shining His light to anyone of this world.

Jer 4:22-23 KJV
(22) For my people is foolish, they have not known me; they are sottish children, and they have none understanding: they are wise to do evil, but to do good they have no knowledge.
(23) I beheld the earth, and, lo, it was without form, and void; and the heavens, and they had no light.

We must come out from among the man-based churches and be separate….no longer being attached to them (they are unclean gatherings.) The man-based churches will not believe in what they will hear: the Word of Truth. What part does the believer of the Word of Truth have with the unbelievers of the man-based churches? What communion does light have with darkness?

2Co 6:14-18 KJV
(14) Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?
(15) And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?
(16) And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
(17) Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,
(18) And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.

We must “awake” and arise out of the dead ones…out of the dead man-based church gatherings…and Christ shall give us light so that we may shine to the people of the outside world who are in deep darkness.

Eph 5:14
(14) Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from (OUT OF) the dead, and Christ shall give thee light.

This is the way of righteousness…to come out from among the man-based churches and be separate. The LORD call us in righteousness and will hold our hand and keep us.

He will make us a light of the nations. We are to be His light of the world.

Isa 42:6-9 KJV
(6) I the LORD have called thee in righteousness, and will hold thine hand, and will keep thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, for a light of the Gentiles;

So that their “blind eyes” may open and see His light. They will then see the Son of man being made manifest through us.

(7) To open the blind eyes, to bring out the prisoners from the prison, and them that sit in darkness out of the prison house.

The LORD will not give His glory to any man-based church.

He will not give His praise to “graven images”…to churches who keep and serve their handwritings of ordinances. The people of the outside world will not praise God by looking at any denominational church where they are keeping and serving their church handwritings of ordinances/dogmas.

(8) I am the LORD: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images.
(9) Behold, the former things are come to pass, and new things do I declare: before they spring forth I tell you of them.

It will be church business as usual in the unbelieving man-based church denominations while the Son of man (the manifestation of His presence…the manifestation of the life of Jesus in our mortal flesh) IS BEING revealed to the people of the outside world.

Mat 24:37-42
(37) But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming (Greek: Parousia = PRESENCE) of the Son of man be.

The man-based churches will continue on in their things OBLIVIOUS to what is going on while they ignore the presence of the Son of man.

(38) For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark,

They will NOT KNOW anything until the “flood” of the believers of Christ among people of the outside world becomes so visible to them and all of the world.

(39) And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming (PRESENCE) of the Son of man be.

For at the time they (the unbelieving man-based churches) are being oblivious…not knowing what is happening outside their churches, the Son of man is being revealed to the people of the outside world ...and many will be received (taken) to Him. One person of the outside world shall be see Him and be received unto Him while another will be left.

(40) Then (AT THE TIME) shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left.
(41) Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left.
(42) Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.

They…the man-based churches… will say that they we are “gluttonous” and drunkards because we are friends with the people of the outside world (publicans and sinners) who will fellowship with us because they will see the Son of man being made manifest in us to them. They will see and believe and come to the light in us while the man-based churches will scoff at us.... until they see a “cloud”....a "flood".... of the people of the outside world coming...and then they will know (but it will be too late for them).

(34) The Son of man is come eating and drinking; and ye say, Behold a gluttonous man, and a winebibber, a friend of publicans and sinners!

Hasan Chokr threatened children and their parents at a daycare center at a Jewish synagogue in Dearborn Michagan. This happened in 2022. After threatening people at the synagogue and spewing antisemitic slurs, he went to a gun shop and handled several weapons. He decided to buy a rifle, a shotgun and a pistol but a background check blocked the purchase. Chokr had been convicted of theft in 2017 and had a pending assault charge against him. He was out on bail.

Chokr has now been sentenced to 34 months in prison on Federal charges.
This is one case where background checks worked, they did what they are supposed to do. I do wish the sentence had been longer.

Hi, please bear with me, I may be wrong on this and I'm not in the mood to explain why I'm asking this.

Say you're struggling with something and someone tells you "Only God can fill in that void..."

No offense to anyone but I can't stand this statement anymore and if it weren't for me being already friends with someone who said this, I'd remove them from my life completely. I can't handle this statement anymore. If this is the best statement that someone can come up with instead of actually solving the problem, then I don't know what to do anymore.

This statement is bleeding into Catholic circles.

Not anything "gotcha" like 11 + 11 (22 decimal; 110 binary). Just something straightforward. Which AI you ask doesn't matter.

I tried this, and the results were less than impressive. The only thing it got correct was the name of the event and when it happened. A supposed participant wasn't there. The specific event that triggered it wasn't mentioned, nor was the aftermath. Most of the response was fluff worded to pass for something authoritative. It didn't work. It read for all the world like a grade school student trying to bluff his way through an essay question.

In picking something concrete but obscure, you're asking the AI for something there's not a lot of info online to train it. No telling how many words are written about, oh, Washington crossing the Delaware, or calculating the value of Pi, and what AI regurgitates might be passable. Might. Something obscure isn't going to have many words online about it, and what AI comes up with can be questionable. It might be questionable even if there's a lot of words written about it, because it has no reasoning to fact check itself. This experiment is sort of looking at boundary conditions that evaluates the accuracy of AI.

Add to the mix topics that people debate. Add to it things that some people consider as not concrete. And consider that AI has no reasoning to evaluate its own responses.

Now consider the posts that show up on CF that are essentially "AI says." Then consider that if AI can't be relied on when it comes to the obscure, how can we rely on it for anything where it has to imitate "general knowledge?"
