God is With the Righteous

“The fool says in his heart, ‘There is no God.’
They are corrupt, they do abominable deeds;
there is none who does good.
The Lord looks down from heaven on the children of man,
to see if there are any who understand,
who seek after God.
They have all turned aside; together they have become corrupt;
there is none who does good,
not even one.
Have they no knowledge, all the evildoers
who eat up my people as they eat bread
and do not call upon the Lord?
There they are in great terror,
for God is with the generation of the righteous.
You would shame the plans of the poor,
but the Lord is his refuge.
Oh, that salvation for Israel would come out of Zion!
When the Lord restores the fortunes of his people,
let Jacob rejoice, let Israel be glad.”
(Psalms 14:1-7 ESV; cf. Romans 3:10-17)

When we humans are born into this world, although we are created of God in his likeness, we are born into sin with sin natures in the likeness of Adam, the first man created of God, and the first man to sin against God. Not one of is good. Not one of us does good (in the sight of God). Not one of us is righteous in the sight of God. We have all turned aside. We have all become worthless. We are liars and thieves and evildoers and those who follow after the ways and the desires of the flesh, and not after the ways of God.

[Rom 3:9-26; Rom 5:12-19; 1 Co 15:21-22,42-49; Eph 2:8-10]

And this is why God the Father sent his Son (God the Son) Jesus Christ to the earth to be born as a baby to a human mother but conceived of the Holy Spirit, so that Jesus could eventually become our sacrificial lamb to die on a cross for the sins of the entire world. For in his death he who knew no sin became sin for us that we might become the righteousness of God – that we might, by God-persuaded faith in him, be crucified with him in death to sin and raised with him to walk in newness of life in him, no longer to live as slaves to sin but now as slaves to God and to his righteousness.

[1 Peter 2:24; 2 Corinthians 5:15,21; Romans 6:1-23; Luke 9:23-26]

But not everyone believes in Jesus Christ. Most people don’t. The majority of the people of this world are on a path leading to hell and not to heaven. They are going through a wide gate and following a broad path which leads to destruction (decay, death) which makes no requirements for them to be crucified with Christ in death to sin and to be raised with Christ to walk in newness of life in him, no longer as slaves to sin but as slaves to God and to his righteousness. And so they go on living in sin, doing whatever it is that their sinful hearts desire – even many do who profess Jesus as Lord.

[Matthew 7:13-14,21-23; John 6:35-58; Romans 1:18-32; 1 John 3:4-10]

So, even many who profess faith in Jesus Christ with their lips are saying in their hearts, “There is no God,” because they are living as though there is no God and as though they will not be punished for their sins and for their rebellion against the Lord. So, even though with their lips they give service to the Lord, yet by their actions they deny him. And so they, too, are corrupt, and they do abominable deeds, and they do not, in practice, do the good that God requires that we all do in his power and in his strength.

[Gal 5:16-24; Gal 6:7-8; Eph 5:3-6; Col 1:21-23; Col 3:1-17; 1 Co 6:9-10; 1 Jn 1:5-10; 1 Jn 2:3-6,24-25; Heb 3:1-19; Heb 4:1-13; Heb 10:23-31]

And so when God looks down from heaven on the children of man, the children of the flesh, he sees those who do not seek after God, but who have turned aside and have become corrupt and who do not do the good that they ought to do in the eyes of the Lord, because they do not believe in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior of their lives and because they do not submit to Christ as Lord and to forsaking their sins to follow Jesus in obedience. And he sees that they have no knowledge of God, even some who profess him.

For these are people who do not honor God as Lord of their lives, who have not submitted to dying with Christ to sin and to living to God and to his righteousness. But they are still their own lord and master, and not God, for they go their own way and not God’s way. And many are they who then persecute and mistreat those who are following the Lord Jesus in obedience to his commands, for the righteous are an offense to them. But God is with the generation of the righteous who are committed to his ways and who are walking in obedience to his commands in holy living, and not in sin.

Therefore, although it may appear, at times, as though the evildoers have the upper hand, and as though they are winning, and as though we are losing, if we are following Jesus Christ with our lives we must trust that the Lord is on our side and that he has won this battle for us, even if we do not physically see with our eyes that he has won and that he is winning and that in the end he will win and we will win with him. So we need to just keep making the Lord our trust, for he is our refuge, and one day, when our Lord returns, he will take his faithful ones to be with him for eternity. Amen!

When I Go Home

By G. M. Eldridge

“He will wipe away every tear from their eyes…” Revelation 21:4

In the moment He appears
And the light from heaven shines,
I’ll forget ev’ry fear,
Ev’ry pain I’ll leave behind.
Then I’ll see Him as He is
And I’ll know Him as I’m known.
Ev’ry tear wiped away when I go home.

Ever present is the tho’t
That a moment waits for me
When unworthy as I am,
His glory I will see.
I will empty all my praise
Before my Father’s throne.
Ev’ry tear wiped away when I go home.

If the trial I endure,
And your presence I can’t find,
Be near me, Lord, I pray,
Bring back unto my mind
That your promises are firm
And I’m never on my own.
Ev’ry tear wiped away when I go home.

Mixtures

"The common religion of the day is a mingle- mangle of Christ and Belial. If God be God serve Him: if Baal be God, serve him. There can be no alliance between the two. Jehovah and Baal can never be friends. Ye cannot serve God and Mammon, No man can serve two masters. All attempts at comprimise in matters of truth and purity are founded on falsehood. May God save us from such hateful double-mindedness. You must have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them. Walk worthy of your high calling with dignity...
If thy trust is stayed upon Christ who is God's great way of Salvation, thou has evidence that you were chosen of him form before the foundation of the world; and that faith of thine entittles thee to all the privileges which Christ has promised in his word to believers....
If you get Christ, you are in his church. If you have laid hold on him, you are a member of that secret and invisible community of His elect and His redeemed; but it is not by baptism nor by birthright that you can ever be so.....
If you have not Christ, your church certificates are waste paper and your membership with any people, however pure and apostolic they may be, is but a name to live while you are dead, for the only way, the sole way, of getting into the real, vital, living church of Christ, is by coming to Christ who is Himself the door...~Charles H. Spurgeon

I thought these words to be as relevent today as they were in the 1800's when they were written. First, if you know Jesus, then you are called by him, and it is a high calling. We are told to forget those things which are behind us, reach forth to those things which are before us, and press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus~ (Philippians 3:13 +14)

There is no place for compromise. So many struggle with habits and evil desires but this needs not be the case. God can heal instantaneously. It may take time to GROW in knowledge, to smooth out our walk, but deliverance is complete, on the spot. When Jesus or the apostles cast out demons or lay hands on the sick to heal, in most cases the resulting miracle was instant. In fact, rarely was there a delay to the deliverance. How far we have fallen from this power!! Today we unfortunately have wedded pop psychology and New Age self help Teachings to the gospel, and the result is as Spurgeon said, a "mingle- mangle of Christ and Belial." The result of this foolishness is nothing but undeliverable souls, because ongoing "therapy" has replaced the mighty hand of God's deliverance!

Your faith, if you truly have faith does indeed entitle you to all the privileges of Christs promises in his Word. Some of these promises are the power to cast out devils and heal the sick (Mark 16:17-18) Jesus says these are SIGNS that shall follow those who believe. Now I'm not going to preach signs here and make an emphasis on miraculous wonders. The Word simply states that signs shall follow those who believe. If there are NO signs following you, if you have not experienced at least SOME signs of Gods power, the question that must be asked is, do you REALLY believe?

If signs are supposed to follow those who believe and there are no signs, then do you believe? Or are you perhaps like those who are church members only, thinking attendance or membership, or baptism, or daily Bible reading, or prayer makes you a Christian? Those things may be good, but they do NOT make you a child of God! Jesus makes you a child of God, imparts faith, which you exercise reciprocally, Trusting entirely in him, and hence the living word dwells within you by the Holy Spirit; who also empowers you; and who also shall spontaneously perform these "signs" of which we speak!

"Work out your own salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure."~ (Philippians 2:12)
God working in you. Realize what this is saying. Not just the letters of the words, but the life empowering them, which is eternally consistent, settled in the heavens, permeating all creation, piercing to the heart, illuminating the mind. Discerning these truths we need to daily work out our salvation, seeking God- not "trying" to do good but just doing it by letting God work in us and through us. Herein we will live in the Spirit and overcome the deadness that abounds in modern Theological meanderings----

No Passover, No Resurrection Day... Know Passover, Know Resurrection Day

NO PASSOVER, NO RESURRECTION DAY……. KNOW PASSOVER, KNOW RESURRECTION DAY

Play on words you might say, but let’s look at these words in detail. “NO PASSOVER= NO RESURRECTION DAY”

Had there not been a first Passover in Egypt, had not the Israelites been freed from Egyptian slavery through “HaYad HaShem” (The Hand of God), had not Elohim struck the first-born of Pharaoh, then Pharaoh would not have let the people go. Had not “Am Yisrael” (The people of Israel) left Egypt, in Egypt they would have remained.

Had they remained in Egypt, they would have continued being slaves. Perhaps, little by little, the Israelites might have intermarried with the Egyptians, thus, dissipating the Seed of Abraham into a pagan society. Then, Messiah could not have been born from the line of Judah, since Judah, along with the other tribes, would have been interbred with Egypt.

Had not Messiah been born, there would be no crucifixion on Passover eve, and no crucifixion would mean no death, and without death, there would be no resurrection and the conquering of sin and death. If there had not been the conquering of sin and death, it would mean we would still bear the guilt of sin. And if no Messiah had bore the guilt of sin and death, where would that leave US? (in a very bad state!)

(without hope, lost, being separated from a Holy and Awesome God).

But…if we KNOW PASSOVER, then we KNOW RESURRECTION DAY.

Since we “know” the meaning of Passover, since Passover happened for the first time nearly 3500 years ago, then we know that Israel was freed from Egyptian slavery. Since Israel was freed from slavery, they had a new start. Since they had a new start, they became a Holy Nation, of which we are a part of.

And since we know that out of that Holy Nation, came the Messiah Ben David, Son of God, Yeshua HaMashiach, Jesus Christ our LORD, the Bread of Life. And the Bread of Life became the Passover Lamb, and since the Passover Lamb gave up his own life as a sacrifice for our sins, then the curse of sin and death was paid in full on Calvary’s Cross.

And since the Father planned to raise His Son from the dead, it happened so! And thus, conquering death with life, at the “resurrection”. And since we “know” the “Passover Lamb” we “know” the risen Savior, and since we “know” the risen Savior, “We know we have eternal life” (1 John 5:13)

These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that ye may KNOW that you have eternal life!”

God had all of this planned since the beginning of time. He knows the past, present, and future. We serve an awesome God who was willing to come to earth dressed in human flesh, to bear the curse of sin, die a sinner's death, but rise to live again on the third day, on the first day of the week.

Happy Resurrection Day ( according to the Gregorian calendar) (Hebraic Calendar, Passover = April 21, Resurrection Day, April 24th)

Suffering that God's allows in history of Moses, Egypt time

So because of Easter I watched the Moses movie and read the bible, that made me thinking. I mean after Joseph of Egypt died, the Egyptians made the hebrews their slaves and the hebrews suffered as slaves and there was genocide of the baby hebrew boys. Some say slavery was 400 years, but some other sources say it was only 100-150 years or something. I mean why did the hebrews have to suffer like slaves ? I mean couldn't God have organized the historical events more differently so they didn'
t have to suffer as slaves ? Well there goes the teachings of the prosperity gospel, if you were slave born in that time, well what prosperity would u have had as a slave, some propably got wipped to death or something. We know that after that the hebrews suffered as slaves, God sent Moses back to do great miracles, I mean couldnt God organized the events differently so that the hebrews didnt have to suffer as slaves ?

What is a faith response during trying times?

I really feel despite what I'm going through I need to strengthen my faith. What I'm going through sucks but unfortunately life can get worse. I remember a sermon I watched online about how life or the devil will try everyone Christian and non believer alike just to see if were made up of the same stuff. It just keeps ringing in my head.

Anyway, so what is a faith response when going through trying situations? How do I strengthen my faith? It's really weak right now..

On Easter

God comes to this world in human form, and the end result was just as He taught all along: that mankind would try to destroy even God in order to maintain its own ideals, power, and position. Is God then (in allowing us to destroy His Son to show our ideals can only lead to one end), teaching us that we should be glad He died for our sins OR that we should be ashamed of our ways that led to His demise (ways we practice and defend still), and lead us to repent of our self serving ways in order to receive the benefit of the forgiveness, resurrection, and the Kingdom that Jesus taught and offers?

I am ashamed of the ideals that wished for Him to exist no more and glad for the chance to repent of those ideals. Be ashamed. Own the responsibility for harbouring the ideals that killed Jesus before claiming the joy forgiveness can bring. The accusing spirit of the "religious" Pharisees remains today.

It verified, if there was any doubt in man's mind, that our rebellious nature was not only our own worst enemy but unforgivably anti-God in comparison, no matter how Godly we think ourselves to be (and that includes today). Yet what did God do? Forgave and forgives still if we but repent of the ideals of man that we deemed important enough to execute God over.

Hummingbirds 101

Time to put up hummingbird feeders and to put a little research into the bird...

1. A hummingbird's heart beats up to 1,260 times a minute
2. Hummingbirds have excellent memories and can come back to the same feeders every year
3. Male hummingbirds can travel more than 1,000 miles without taking a single break.
4. Have the intelligence to build nice nests
5. Having only brains about the size of a grain of rice,

I am getting my hummingbird feeders ready now! Believing these little creatures were designed by the creative power of God!

Consider the ravens: for they neither sow nor reap; which neither have storehouse nor barn; and God feedeth them: how much more are ye better than the fowls? - Luke 12:24

NY Gov. Kathy Hochul defends going to slain NYPD Detective Jonathan Diller’s wake after being told ‘his blood is on your hands’

Hochul, however, failed to address the Diller family member, who according to a source, confronted her at the wake and said, “We don’t want you here. You’re not wanted here. You have blood on your hands. If you want to do something, change the bail laws.”
Hochul spokesman Avi Small also declined to address the confrontation, only saying in an email that the governor “attended the wake … to mourn the loss of Officer Diller, offer her condolences and hear from his family and loved ones who are dealing with unimaginable grief.”
They'll keep voting her in until things get even worse.

Pre-Mil Only The Distinctions in the Futurist's Camp

Premillennialists are viewed as falling under two categories: historic and dispensational premillennialism. While historicists are more often premillennialists, there are some exceptions. This thread explores the difference between the two futurist views of historic and dispensational premillennialism.

Dr. Paul M. Elliott defines the distinction between the historic and dispensation forms of premillennialism on the website teachingtheword.org,

Historic premillennialists in more recent times include Baptists John Gill (1697-1771), Charles Spurgeon (1834-1892), Benjamin Newton (1807-1899), and George Eldon Ladd (1911-1982)… I could point to many things that notably distinguish all historic premillennialists from Dispensational premillennialists, but I believe two stand out. First, historic premillennialists see in Scripture a unity of all believers, Jew and Gentile, through all of time, as one body in Christ. They do not believe that Scripture posits separate programs of God extending into eternity for national Israel and the New Testament church. Secondly, virtually all historic premillennialists agree that Scripture teaches no re-institution of bloody sacrifices (even on a memorial basis) during a thousand-year reign of Christ on earth. They point especially to the statements of the Book of Hebrews as clear evidence that those sacrifices have been done away with forever by the full and final sacrifice of Christ Himself…

Dispensational premillennialism draws its name from the fact that it represents the eschatological position that developed, beginning in the early 1800s, principally under the influence of John Nelson Darby (1800-1882)… They maintain that the Bible teaches two distinct plans of God, one for Israel and another for the New Testament church, extending into eternity. Most Dispensational premillennialists hold to a pre-Tribulation Rapture, but some believe it will take place in the middle of the seven-year Tribulation, and a few believe it will take place at the end of that period.05 - How Can You Be a Premillennialist But Not a Dispensationalist?

I’m sure there will be debate over the definitions, but I must concur with Elliott. I delved into the subject when I first started breaking from my Catholic upbringing. In my first encounter with Protestantism, I was introduced to dispensational futurism. But that is not unusual; insomuch as eschatology goes, I would conclude it has gained hegemony in Christendom. Soon after that, I was also confronted with historicism, which led me to investigate historic premillennialism and finally settle on historicism. It is that investigation into the mainstream schools of eschatology by which I make my assessment that Elliott is correct in his views.

Any disagreement with Elliott’s definitions will have to prove there isn’t a separate program concerning the destiny of the Church and Israel in dispensationalism, which is not held by historic premillennialism. In essence, the distinction should not be held by historic premillennialists. No argument can prevail against the documentation supporting this specific difference between the two forms of futurist eschatology. This difference is portrayed in the writings of historic premillennialists like George Eldon Ladd and Leon Morris. Concerning Revelation 7, both authors make the comment that the 144,000 and the great multitude represent the Church, the true Israel of God (Galatians 6:15-16),

There is good reason to believe that by the 144,000 John means to identify spiritual Israel–the Church… The great tribulation will be but a concentration of the same satanic hostility which the church has experienced throughout her entire existence when Satan, in one final convulsive effort, tries to turn the hearts of God’s people away from their Lord.[ii]
There is good reason for seeing a reference here to the church as the true Israel. Here it is the church, sealed in view of the coming trials; later in the chapter it is the church triumphant and at peace.[iii]

I’m not interested in debating whether the church is spiritual Israel or not. What I’m debating is whether a historic or non-dispensational premillennialist can hold the distinction between the Church and Israel. I don’t believe a historic premillennialist can maintain different destinies for the church and Israel and claim to be a non-dispensationalist futurist. And it follows if there aren’t two destinies, then there is no reason or warrant for a pre-tribulation rapture, as the pre-tribulation rapture is not historic; it doesn’t exist as a doctrine before the ninetieth century, which dispensationalists concede,

Now, what do we make of this accusation that the teaching of the Pre-Tribulation Rapture is a novelty, that no one taught it or believed it before the 19th century… It’s true that there was not much specific interest before the 19th century in the “catching up” of the church as described in 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17.[iv]

The author contends that the doctrine existed in the Bible before the systematic doctrine of dispensationalism brought it to the forefront, but again, this isn’t my concern. My issue is that without the distinction, there is no reason or foundation for the pretribulation view, which dispensationalist Thomas Ice pretty much concedes,

It is true that some hold to the Pre-Trib position that do not want to be called dispensationalists, but it is equally true that it was dispensational thought which provided the theological rationale for the Pre-Trib viewpoint… A dispensationalist holds to the above mentioned “Israel—church” distinction as well as the Pre-Trib rapture. Dispensationalists believe that God has a distinctive plan for ethnic and national Israel that includes their spiritual restoration and conversion, as well as a specific geographic destiny.(emphasis added)[v]

Again, without the distinction, there is no warrant for a pretribulation rapture, which is supported by Alan S. Bandy, assistant professor of New Testament & Greek at Oklahoma Baptist University,

Historic premillennialists affirm only one return of Christ and typically believe that the church will persevere through the tribulation. This differs from dispensationalists, who maintain that the second coming of Christ will involve a secret return for the church prior to the tribulation followed by his visible return after seven years. One reason they do not necessarily affirm the need for the pretribulation rapture is due to the reality of the new covenant that makes all believers in Jesus the spiritual descendants of Abraham and, therefore, covenant members of the people of God—true Israel (Rom. 11:1-24; Eph. 2:11-22; Gal. 3:28-29).[vi]

Any doctrine always contains aberrant views, but the rules that define doctrines cannot be ignored because they would defy the ability to define paradigms such as historic premillennialism. This is why the forum allows for “statements of purpose” such as Premillennialists Only. Dispensationalists' distinctions concerning the Church and Israel must accompany the pretribulation view, and any aberrant is confusion.

Religion and incest

Let me start by saying that I in no way try to mock, offend or upset people with my question. Nor do I try to condemn or justify this and am I in no way trying make someone question their believe. I understand that this is a sensitive topic and apologize in advance if I'm not allowed to ask this. It's just that it has intrigued me. From what I understand, the Bible describes two events during which incest happened:

  1. Adam & Eve having to populate the earth in the beginning
  2. The sons of Noah (Shem, Ham, and Japheth) having to populate the earth after the flood
My question, without trying to insult and offed anyone or have someone question their belief, is:

Is there still widespread acceptance of the occurred event among Christians, or is this something that has people divided where some believe this to have happened and others believe populating the earth may have occurred differently?

Again, I'm not trying to mock or insult, nor do I condemn or justify this. I simply would like to know if there is a consensus or if it's something that has people divided.
I myself am an Atheist but my wife is a Christian and doesn't believe it has happend like this as she points to different genetics so I'm just curious how others think on this topic.

Jesus enters Jerusalem 4 days before Passover.

For anyone who isn't aware regarding Jesus's riding into Jerusalem on a donkey 4 days before His crucifixion, I learned when my daughter bought a small far with donkeys.
Did you know that all donkeys have a cross on their back?
Also, the Jews were to single out their best lamb for Passover 4 days beforehand, to watch and search him for any defects.
Jesus did just that when he rode into Jerusalem 4 days before G
His crucifition where Jews from every nation could look him over, ask him questions and decide if He was a perfect sacrifice.
I thought the cross on donkeys backs was interesting.

State of the Nation

This is Easter, and it should definitely be an occasion for celebration and reflection. I find myself feeling a bit down today though, because of the state of the country. I know that my ultimate home is not here in this world, and that the world is evil. But it still bothers me to see the direction the country is going. And the hatred between the two parties, and the lies each one believes about the other. And the non Christian secular aspects of our culture, which are constantly being pushed. I am told I should not be concerned about such things, but it is difficult to see wrongs committed in the world, especially when many people claim such things are actually right. I must remember God chose us out of this world, and not to let it touch me.

Nuclear Strike "most likely" Coming!

More nuclear posturing....

Amid the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war, Russian President Vladimir Putin's friend, Viktor Medvedchuk, recently predicted that a nuclear strike will "most likely" be coming.

Putin and senior Russian officials have repeatedly threatened nuclear escalation against Kyiv and its Western partners since Moscow launched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022.
During Putin's annual state of the nation address last month he warned that Russia's "strategic nuclear forces are in a state of full readiness." He also warned that there was a genuine risk of nuclear war if Western nations send troops to Ukraine, as suggested by French President Emmanuel Macron last month.

Western nations, Putin added, "must realize that we also have weapons that can hit targets on their territory. All this really threatens a conflict with the use of nuclear weapons and the destruction of civilization. Don't they get that?"

However, Macron appears to have walked back his previous comments earlier this month about sending troops to Ukraine. During an interview with Czech news publication Novinky.cz. Macron emphasized that France is not actively considering sending military forces to Ukraine.

"In response to one question I was asked about sending troops, I said that nothing is out of the question," he recalled. "This does not mean that we are considering the possibility of sending French troops to Ukraine in the near future, but we are starting discussions and thinking about everything that can be done to support Ukraine, especially on Ukrainian territory."

On Friday, according to Russian news agency Tass, pro-Russian Ukrainian politician Medvedchuk who was exiled to Russia in 2022 in exchange for Ukrainian prisoners of war predicted that a nuclear strike will "most likely" be coming as the West continues to "assert its right to global dominance."

"If the collective West continues to assert its right to global dominance, Ukraine's human capital will not be enough in any case...If we continue the policy of war to the bitter end, sooner or later foreign troops will have to be introduced. And most likely, [we will be] looking at a nuclear strike eventually," he said.

However, Medvedchuk does not rule out that countries outside of Europe could become involved if the conflict expands. "It is clear that the Arab world is being drawn into the war, and after that, China and India will also be involved, as they do not have issues with soldiers."

King Charles Given 2 Years to Live as He Battles Pancreatic Cancer

"Less than two months after Buckingham Palace confirmed King Charles III was diagnosed with cancer, sources exclusively reveal to In Touch that the king is battling pancreatic cancer and has been given two years to live."

So far just Yahoo and a few other minor media sites are reporting this. Due to the longevity of his parents, I figured Charles would be on the throne another 20 years.
But if this report is true, I think he'll probably abdicate within a year. Which will bring in King William V a lot sooner than expected.

Is the TDOV the possible abomination of desolation standing in place of Easter?

I just read the news and it occurred to me that the following might be the case in light of the prophecy of Daniel about the abomination of desolation standing in the holy place and what follows it.

It's written that there will be about 3.5 years after the sacrifices are abolished that the abomination of desolation is set up. I am not an American, but I like Trump and he says that the previous elections were rigged and IF he's correct, then Biden was swearing on the Bible falsely, and so the Spirit of Truth is not in him. But the sacrifice pleasant to God is the Spirit of Truth:

The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise

And so it can be said that the sacrifice, which the world's greatest country's leader should be making, was "abolished" at that moment. And around 3.5 years later, instead of the "holy place", which was always reserved for Easter -- the greatest Christian holiday -- we see the TDOV. The "desolation" part can be tied to it in the sense that the cities Sodom and Gomorrah were into this kind of stuff, but they were made desolate.

Please note, I'm not into politics and I'm not posting this to spark a discussion on politics -- there is a separate section on this forum for this.

Are You Embarrassed by Them?

“Therefore do not be ashamed of the testimony about our Lord, nor of me his prisoner, but share in suffering for the gospel by the power of God, who saved us and called us to a holy calling, not because of our works but because of his own purpose and grace, which he gave us in Christ Jesus before the ages began, and which now has been manifested through the appearing of our Savior Christ Jesus, who abolished death and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel, for which I was appointed a preacher and apostle and teacher, which is why I suffer as I do. But I am not ashamed, for I know whom I have believed, and I am convinced that he is able to guard until that day what has been entrusted to me. Follow the pattern of the sound words that you have heard from me, in the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus. By the Holy Spirit who dwells within us, guard the good deposit entrusted to you.” (2 Timothy 1:8-14 ESV)

What does that look like to be ashamed of the testimony about our Lord? Well, to be ashamed is to be embarrassed and to not want to be associated with something or someone out of fear of what others might think of you. It is to be reluctant and unwilling and hesitant to be involved in something or to show support for someone or something, again out of fear of what others will think of you and/or out of fear of how you will be treated by them. And that is a legitimate concern, for if you are a true follower of Christ, you will be rejected and persecuted by someone, or by many people.

But as genuine followers of Jesus Christ we should not be those who are ashamed of the testimony of Christ, which is the message of the gospel of our salvation. We should not be embarrassed by those whose lives are committed to sharing the truth of the gospel, nor by the fact that they are suffering much persecution and rejection for the sake of the name of Jesus, and for the sake of the truth of the gospel, and for exposing the lies of the enemy for what they are in hopes that many will reject the lies and that they will pursue and follow after the truth of what Jesus taught, instead.

Instead, we are to be those who are “putting our necks out on the line” and who are willing to swallow our pride in order to share the truth of the gospel of our salvation and to expose the lies of the enemy so that many may come to genuine salvation from slavery to sin and to genuine walks of faith and obedience to our Lord in holy living. For we are not here on this earth to be liked by other people and for them to think that we are wonderful. We are here to share Jesus Christ and his gospel with the people of the earth so that they will love Jesus and so that they will want to serve him with their lives.

For Jesus didn’t die on that cross merely to forgive us our sins so that when we die we get to go to heaven. He died that we might be crucified with him in death to sin and raised with him to walk in newness of life in him, no longer as slaves to sin, but as slaves to God and to his righteousness. For he called us to a holy calling, to be holy in all our conduct. And to be holy is to be separate (unlike, different) from the world because we are being conformed by God to the likeness of character of Jesus Christ in holy living and in walks of obedience to our Lord and to his commands.

Now we are not saved by our own works of our own flesh and of our own doing. We can do nothing in ourselves to earn or to deserve our own salvation. But God’s grace, which is bringing us salvation, is training us to renounce (say “No!” to) ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives while we wait for our Lord’s return. For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works which God prepared in advance that we should walk in them. For Jesus gave himself up for us to redeem us from all lawlessness and to purify for himself a people for his own possession who are zealous for GOOD WORKS.

[1 Peter 2:24; Romans 6:1-23; 1 Peter 1:13-16; Ephesians 2:8-10; Titus 2:11-14; Ephesians 4:17-32; Luke 9:23-26; Matthew 7:21-23]

Therefore, a profession of faith in Jesus Christ is much more than just lip service to God. If our profession of faith is genuine God-persuaded faith in Jesus Christ, then our lives should now be surrendered to the Lord and to his service. We should not be those, therefore, who are ashamed of the gospel of Christ, but we should be those who passionately and obediently are committed to spreading the truth of the gospel regardless of how others react to us, and regardless of how we get treated in return. We must be the servants of the Lord and not servants to our own flesh.

He Gives Purpose

An Original Work / June 9, 2012

“Listen to Me when I’m calling to you.
Obey freely My word.
Follow Me in all of My ways.
Do all that I say.
Hear Me gently whisper to you
My will for your life and future.
Give all of your life and heart to
Follow Me always.”

Repent of your sins and worship Jesus.
He’s your Lord and Master.
He died for your sins so you could
Live with Him today.
He has a plan for your life and
He gives purpose and direction.
He gives meaning to your life,
So follow Him today.

“I love you so much I gave My life for
You to walk in My ways,
Living for Me each day as you
Bow to Me and pray.
Witness for Me of your love for Me and
Of My grace and mercy,
How I died to save you of your
Sins now and always.”

Omw to the ER

I'm on my way to the ER again. This time for leg pain and shortness of breath that's pretty severe. Im terrified that it might be blood clots again. t could be a series of panic attacks but i want to be sure. I'll have my wife update everyone as we find out results. Right now my wife is napping to be more recharged. We should hopefully be there in 15 mins or so.

I really hope the ER isn't super packed on Easter Sunday.
