In my town of Minneapolis Federal agents shot and killed Alex Pretti, a US citizen, nurse at the VA, and cancer researcher, as he was monitoring ICE activity with his cell phone, and after coming to the aid of a woman who had been hit with a chemical irritant. He had a licensed weapon on him that he was legally allowed to carry - a weapon he never drew according to all the videos available. Here is the NBC News article on the shooting.

I guess being brown and eating tacos creates a nexus of illegal behavior.

Ralat, who’s built a national following for his expert reporting on tacos and regional Mexican food, frequently travels throughout Texas for work. He detailed the encounter with federal agents in a three-part Instagram video titled “Taco Editor meets ICE,” which he posted this week. According to Ralat, the incident occurred near Presidio, a small border town in the Big Bend region.

“Well, it finally happened — I came face to face with ICE agents,” Ralat said in one of the clips, adding that he and his colleague Rodrigo Bravo Jr. were stopped while driving in the area.

Adding that he had a lot of support from Texas Monthly, his family and his documents (“I travel with a passport now,” Ralat noted), the senior taco editor admitted how shaken he was.

“I can’t wait for this to be over,” he said.

These are fake students, many operating overseas, enrolling in online classes, submitting AI-generated assignments, occupying limited course seats, and collecting state and federal financial aid intended for real students.

Sadly this seems par for the course.

So many liars, and so many lies there are today being spread rapidly throughout the world, and in the name of truth, and in the name of the gospel of our salvation, and in the name of God. So much deception and so many deceiving spirits now dwell among us and are in most anything we see on the internet or on television. So much twisting of the Scriptures to pacify human flesh and to make addictive and habitual sin acceptable and tolerable among those professing faith in Jesus Christ, too. And this should not be!!

There is so much that is dishonorable, unrighteous, impure, hateful, disgusting, of bad repute, and totally lacking in anything of excellence and worthy of praise in the eyes of our Lord. And this is not happening just out in the fleshy world, but this is happening within the gatherings of what are being called “the church,” too, and among their leadership and their congregations. For so many are adopting Satan’s lies and are continuing in their sin, and are not walking in holiness and in obedience to our Lord.

So, as those who profess faith in Jesus Christ, our focus is to be on believing and living the truth of God’s word and in rejecting the lies of our enemy Satan which are being taught to the people by marketeers who are “wolves in sheep’s clothing” within the gatherings of what are called “churches.” So, this necessitates that we be students of the Scriptures, as led by the Spirit of God, who study them in their correct biblical context, and who apply their truths to our daily lives in living godly and holy lives for the glory of God.

We are to be truth tellers and not those who spread lies in order to make people feel good. We are to be honorable in all that we are and think and do. And we are to be pure of heart, mind, and body, in all sincerity and in daily practice. We are to be those who live, in practice, what we claim that we believe, and who are not hypocritical in belief and action. This does not mean we are perfect and that we will never fail to live up to what we profess, but it means that obedience to God, and not sin, is our practice.

GM is making a series of job cuts at its Factory Zero assembly plant near Detroit, resulting in the loss of nearly 2,000 jobs across several U.S. facilities. The move follows slower-than-expected EV sales and changing federal policies that have effectively reshaped electric vehicle manufacturing across the United States.

As reported by The Detroit News, GM will cut Factory Zero’s workforce down to one shift, eliminating approximately 1,200 jobs in the process. The Detroit-area plant is responsible for the assembly of BT1-based products like the Chevy Silverado EV, GMC Hummer EV, and Cadillac Escalade IQ, and is currently idle. The facility will remain idle until November 24th, at which time it will operate on two shifts until the holiday break, after which the facility will reopen with only on shift, starting January 5th. Around 2,000 employees will remain on site once the changes take effect next year.
GM stated that the decision was “in response to slower near-term EV adoption and an evolving regulatory environment,” noting that it remains committed to U.S. manufacturing even as the company adjusts its output. Affected employees may be eligible for Supplemental Unemployment Benefits (SUB) under the current GM-UAW labor agreement.

The job cuts extend beyond Factory Zero to the GM Ultium Cells battery facilities in Ohio and Tennessee, both of which are operated under a joint venture with LG Energy Solution. In Ohio, 550 workers will lose their jobs permanently, while another 850 will be temporarily laid off. The Tennessee Ultium facility will temporarily lay off 700 employees."

Weather on purpose or not , this freeze should be seen as a message from above about the conditions in Gaza and Ukraine.

Man Arrested at CAA’s Sundance Party Following Racially-Charged Assault of Florida Congressman​

After an investigation, [Park City police] arrested Christian Young and determined that he “unlawfully entered a private party after previously being turned away for not having an invitation. Once inside the saloon, Young assaulted Florida Congressman Maxwell Frost and a female who was attending the private event.”

Around midnight, Young went into the restroom where he allegedly began causing a disturbance in a racially-charged scene that shocked other men using the facilities when Young allegedly stated how proud he was to be “white.” The tense moment continued as Young then exited the restroom and allegedly punched a person of color, later revealed to be Frost.

Hours after The Hollywood Reporter broke the story, Frost took to X to state that he was the man who was assaulted. “Last night, I was assaulted by a man at Sundance Festival who told me that Trump was going to deport me before he punched me in the face. He was heard screaming racist remarks as he drunkenly ran off. The individual was arrested and I am okay,” posted Frost, who represents central Florida and Orlando in District 10. “Thank you to the venue security and Park City PD for assistance on this incident.”

Please pray that if it is God's will we can keep power during this storm and our pipes, sewage and anything won't burst of be broken. Really these prayers could be appropriate for those suffering from winter storms in general. But I particularly ask for the tri-state area where I live, namely, Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana.

Please pray for people to stay in peace, to have all the supplies they need, for our utilities to stay working, and that people and their
vehicles not be hurt or trapped in traveling outside if they have to go there.

I deal with people all the time who, once they find out that I am autistic, they decide I am not worthy of being heard. I had such an encounter with my doctor. Recently during an appointment. Once he learned that I have autism, basically he didn’t listen to me at all during the appointment and it was obvious. I later learned that the person in the room was his boss and watched the whole thing without saying a word. I brought the matter up to the clinic and they defended him. I’m almost positive that he exhibited bias towards me because I have autism. How do I respond to people who are clearly not paying me much attention and not listening to me? How do I advocate for myself?

In the scheme of things, it should not be surprising that an invasion of 3 times as many ICE agents as Minneapolis police should produce three deaths. We should be thankful that there aren't many more.

Secretary Noem should be nominated for a fiction award for her statements regarding ICE actions in MN.

Today, a demonstrator was accosted and subdued by ICE agents. I make ZERO conclusion on whether this action was justified. I presume that it was.

The individual, a nurse and citizen. was beaten by several ICE agents. While on the ground he was shot by an agent. He subsequently died.

Secretary's Noem's account needs to be reviewed by one and all. She indicated that this was normal ICE procedure. Perhaps this is true.

I would say to review the bodycam footage, but ICE against usually don't war them. Thankfully, a video is available taken on a demonstrator's phone.

BOTTOM LINE
The MN police and their National Guard can handle the police situations. If there are federal warrants to be served, then the FBI should execute those warrants, and they will get the cooperation of local police (including arrest of those finishing their prison sentences). If not, the FBI can use greater numbers. ICE members are inexperienced and have had less than 2 months training. They should not be the ones to arrest potential criminals.

I was born into the Baptist church. My mom took me to church every Sunday since I was a baby and since I have been an adult I have gone and have not missed a Sunday (unless I was sick or something).

There is this guy I know about who was not born into a Christian family or had the privilege of having access to the Light of Christ like I had from an early age. I felt sorry for him because when he was a teenager his parents divorced and it destroyed him emotionally. He cried quite a bit. (He is one of those people that has strong emotions and is sensitive, he can be a real sweetie and that is one of the reasons I like him so much). Then he fell into darkness in his life and it was like he was drowning. I didn't know it at the time or believe me, I would have helped him find Jesus! Then he met and married a Christian girl (like me) and she introduced him to church, which I am extremely grateful to her for doing because I had been praying for him for years that he would get saved, and he finally did. Now he is living in hope and the Light for the first time in his life. It's a happy ending, praise the Lord. His spouse was able to save him from drowning. I have no doubt God set her to him to rescue him from the darkness, in a way. It's like she is a guardian angel!

I guess I just don't understand it when someone tells me they were not brought up in a Christian household, because I sure was! Ever since I was a baby, and now I am 38, so I have 38 years of church under my belt. I got saved when I was 6.

I guess it is just hard for me to believe that at one point in peoples' lives they did not have access to the Light of Christ. Does that make me privileged in some way because I always had access to it?

Are Christian families more privileged than non-Christian families because God is there?

On Friday, The Minnesota Star Tribune reported the accounts of Tippy Amundson, 39, and Heather Zemien, 55. The women said that while handcuffed in the back of an ICE SUV on Thursday in Brooklyn Park, one of the agents in the vehicle began having a seizure while stopped at a red light.

Amundson could hear the agent’s tongue and fluids blocking his airway. She asked to be uncuffed.

“He’s going to stop breathing,” she told them.

[After being uncuffed] Amundson ran around the car and knelt beside the agent, trying to turn him onto his side. She spoke to him calmly, telling him he was safe and that help was coming. She said she was aware that people having seizures can often hear what’s being said around them.

After the agent was transferred to receive professional medical attention, Amundson and Zemien said they were put into another vehicle and driven to the Whipple Federal Building in Minneapolis.

While at Whipple, a commanding officer informed them of their release.

“We’re releasing you to your counsel and to your state representative,” the officer stated, according to Amundson. “But you need to tell everybody that we treated you kindly.”

The New York Times ran the image through an A.I. detection system and concluded that it showed signs of manipulation.

The White House posted a digitally altered image showing a demonstrator involved in interrupting a church service in Minnesota last weekend crying as she was arrested on Thursday. A previous version of the image, also posted by an official government account, showed her looking forward calmly.

When asked about its post, the White House pointed to a message on X from Kaelan Dorr, the deputy communications director, who wrote, “Enforcement of the law will continue. The memes will continue.”
