It is a beautiful Sunday today. The sun is shining and it is HOT! We are sweating bullets outside and shivering in the AC inside. Somehow, they managed to make the church comfortable this morning, which made it easier to focus on what the pastor was saying.
For some reason, I have become very reflective over the past year. Every little thing means so much to me and makes me think about who God is. I started making devotions a priority each day and journaling about what I read.
Church was amazing this morning. The pastor spoke about Moses at the burning bush. I knew the story from Sunday school, but I have never heard it as other than a Sunday school lesson before. The pastor outlined each of Moses' protests and God's responses and applied it to our lives. It actually made sense... we do protest the same way Moses does!
In Exodus 3, God appears to Moses in the bush. He commands Moses to go to Egypt and lead His people out. Moses protested first by saying "who am I to do this?" If God says you are the right person for a task, then you are the right person. He already knows your background and you have passed the check. Next Moses said that they would not believe him that God sent him. God responded by giving his credentials and providing three signs. God will not send us without paving the way. Finally, Moses said he couldn't talk. God said he created Moses, but he provided Aaron to help him anyway. We can follow God the easy way or the hard way, but His will will still be done.
