We continue our discourse on the prayer life of Jesus. Luke 3:21-22 says,

|||| When all the people were being baptized, Jesus was baptized too. And as He was praying, heaven opened and the Holy Spirit descended upon Him in bodily form like a dove. And a voice came from heaven, ‘You are My Son whom I love. With You I am well pleased ||||

The setting here was Jesus’ baptism and this is the first recorded example of Jesus praying, and we see in the book of Luke three results of His praying.

•Heaven opened.
•The Holy Spirit came down.
•The voice of Revelation came from the Father
These are three results when we contact God in our prayers. Symbolically, heaven opens and we receive God’s blessing. The Holy Spirit fills our lives afresh. And the Father speaks to us.

Proverbs 1:23 encapsulates these three-fold benefits of prayer.

||| Turn you at my reproof: behold, I will pour out my spirit unto you, I will make known my words unto you |||

When we turn to God the heavens open, there is an outpouring of God's Spirit, leading to revelations that sparks revolution! This was what Jesus expected and it was what Jesus experienced! From his supplications he expected revelations! It's the basic answer and the most critical answers that God gives to our prayers!

God said in Jeremiah 33:3, Call unto me, I will answer thee:(how?) I will show you great and mighty things you do not know. That's God's basic pattern to our supplications: He gives revelation. He shows us the paths, for thou will show me the path of life, in thy presence there is fullness of joy and at thy right hand are pleasures forevermore (Psalm 16:11)

This we see demonstrated in Psalm 107:19-20. When they were in distress they call upon the Lord, he answers them by showing them great and mighty things they do not know! Revelations! This was what Jesus expected and experienced in prayers! The father spoke and Jesus move, his ministry began fully! We must not move until the father speaks!

Every time the saints prays we should expect open heavens, and every time the heaven opens there is an outpouring of Gods spirit whose principal means of empowering the saints is by unfolding revelations (John16:13, 1 John 2:21,27)

Elias prayed in James 5:15-17 and the heavens opened. An open heaven experience always leads to a spiritual outpouring! The Apostles tarried in Acts 1$2 and there was an endowment of the Spirit, leading to empowerment of the saints. This empowerment brought enlightenment which made peter spoke in revelations that led to the enrichment of the lives of people hearing - 3000 souls saved in one day and the church grew!

The revelation of the word by the Spirit enriches our lives and destiny!
