Ok, no worries DARRIONS. Josh to the rescue. ;)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
That night of the battle, rumers were spreading around town that the escaped organoid was at Gyon. She was sitting in the cafe, sipping her coffee when a dark figure walked into the cafe. "We're closed." said Jamie getting up.
The figure ignored her warning and sat down on a stool. "Hey, did you here me. I said we're closed." Jamie said again, this time sounding quite irratent.
"Give me...food. W-water, n-need water." said the dark figure. His voice was dark and scratchy, as if he had a really sore throat.
"There's a drinking fountain in each bathroom." replied Jamie walking over to him.
As she got closer, she thought she saw something move under the man's dark black blanket. But she dismissed it as just a rinkle. She continued to walk closer, but something wasn't right. Immediatly, as she stood next to him, the man turned his body to face her. A set of red pupiled[sp] blood shot eyes seemed to stare into her soul as his pale grey face starred at her. She could ffel her mind being searched, like somebody was sticking a probe into her brain and feeling around. She immediatly began to back off. She tripped over a chair. For some reason, she couldn't look away; like her soul was drawn to him, but her body rejected him. Quickly, she grabbed her coat and grabbed her drink. As she picked it up, a metal tentacle lashed out from beneathe the man's blanket and grabbed her cup! She jumped back, screaming at the top of her lungs. Lights from across the street flickered on. Jamie watched as the tentacle dipped the cup over the man's mouth; and he drank. After he was finished, he stood back up. He stretched his arms and legs. As he did, the blanket slid off, a half naked body, revealing ten metal tentacles lined on his back. His chest had been metal plated and his ribs were lined with metal. As Jamie starred at the half human half metal man, he slowly walked out of the cafe, leaving his blanket behind.
Jamie sat in the corner, motionless, starring at the blanket. She stayed there all night, fearing the man had been waiting for her outside. That morning, her friend walked into the cafe and found her sleeping in a table. "Jamie. Hey Jamie, wake up. What are you doing here. If the boss finds out you stayed the night, he'll probably fire you." said her friend.
Jamie slowly opened her eyes. Jamie shreeked thinking her friend was the man from last night. "What? Huh?" replied Jamie rubbing her eyes.
"You slept in the cafe all night. You need to get up and start work." said her friend beginning to wipe off the counter. As she cleaned up, she noticed a black blanket on the floor and picked it up. "Hey, do you know who...Jarrod Mandon is?" she asked.
"Jarrod Mandon, ummm, never heard of him. Why?" replied Jamie brushing her hair.
"Well, this blanket belongs to him. Did you a this, Jarrod, do a little something last night?" asked her friend smiling.
"What?!?! I can't believe your occusing me of something like that!!!" yelled Jamie. Suddenly, as she looked at the blanket, she had a flashback. "Where'd you find that?" asked Jamie calming down.
"On the floor." replied Jamie setting it on the counter.
Jamie walked over and grabbed it.
"Tell the boss that I'm out sick today." said Jamie heading out of the cafe.
"Where you going?" asked her friend.
"Just tell him." replied Jamie walking out of the counter.
Later morning, she walked into the local science lab. She took a hair off of the blanket and set it under a DNA scanner. As the DNA scanned, she thought about that night. Why does somebody do that to themselves, she thought. Her thoughts were interrupted my the bleeping of the DNA scanner. On the computer screen, the name Jarrod Mandon appeared with his picture. "James Mandon. Second member of Team Vargo. Zoid pilot of a Blaster Liger. Hmm, his face looks nothing similar to last night." she said to herself.
After she was through, she decided to pay Team Vargo a little visit.
Ok, obviously I forgot Jamie's friends name. Sorry 'bout that. :D
You're a life saver Josh. Thank you SO much.
Jamie looked up Team Vargo, and noted that they lived on a Whale Transport. She found out their current location, and went there. She'd never exsactly seen one of these things close up, and didn't know if she should knock, or if there was a button or something to push. She finally decided to knock.
You're gonna need to edit that post, DARRIONS. Team Vargo doesn't live in Gyon. They live in a huge floating sperm whale lookin' transport, called the Whale King. So Jamie could visit the Whale King, which is landed at the outskirts of town. ;)
James was sitting at his computer desk when the presents of Jamie was indicated by a red blinker. He immediatly ran down to meet her.
Jamie waited outside, starring at the huge whale-like transport. Dang!! The claening you'd have to do for this thing. Well, unless their total slobs, thought Jamie. Suddenly, the door swung open to reveal a man. "James Vargo I presume?" said Jamie.
"Yes." replied James.
"Yah umm, I have a blanket here that might look familiar." said Jamie handing it to him.
James' eyes widened as he took the blanket out of her hands. "Where did you find this?" asked James.
"Well, for you information. I was visited by your friend last night at the cafe. He scared me to death! Somebody like that should be locked up." replied Jamie crossing her arms.
"I'm sorry for any unconviniance he may of caused you. Well, please come in and let me explain." said James leading her in.
Sianara heard no reply, only static. Frowning, she switched on her tracking computer and locked all arms into hunting position. The small blue moniter flickered 3-D before her eyes, and quickly it showed four zoids in the near vicinity . . . wait. Sianara frowned. A flicker of brilliant fuscia streaked across, intercepting the four. Quickly, she realised this was a zoid with a super-powerful organoid in command. And it was decimating the zoids.
But strangest of all, it looked like Jarrod's Blaster Liger! Feeling perturbed, she headed in that direction. Her fingers played over the keyboard, almost blurred as she brought the zoid back into battle mode. The for'ard guns spun and locked on the swiftly moving coordinates of the Liger as she descended upon the one-sided battle. The Geno Saurer was down, and the Dibisen practically scrap. The Death Cat was limping badly and as she watched, all systems were shut down to prevent short-circuits in the wiring.
The Lightning Saix was making good use of its speed, but some of the wires connecting the back legs to the body were damaged. It slowed down to make a pass at the Blaster Liger, only to have the wiley controller make a feint lunge away, then a follow-up with a long metal arm that sent sparks showering around on the sand. The Saix reared back, in retreat, only to have the Liger sink its metal fangs into the delicate wiring at the base of the neck. The badly damaged Saix succumbed.
The Blaster Liger snarled, then began to tear the Lightning Saix apart in an attempt to kill Alex. The inner capsule was already within view as the wires snapped when the Black Sphynx suddenly leapt forward out of Siani's control. She learned later that her brother had altered her on-board computer to include a list of all banned organoids. It was supposed to make a retreat, but something inside the Sphynx's command computer malfunctioned and sent the zoid plummetting directly into the battle.
The Liger did not sense the oncoming Sphynx because of its speed and cloaking system, and its first clue was when the flexible metal claws sank deep into its flanks. Its second clue was when the Sphynx's unforgiving jaw snapped shut on the sensitive neck, exactly where it had first attacked the Saix. The damaged Liger tumbled, regained its balence, then snarled, attempting to circle the Sphynx, only to have it run circles around it.
A cannon blast from the Geno Saurer sent it on its way, at least for the moment. Sianara jumped out from her zoid and ran towards the zoids, as Jaylin emerged from her mangled Death Cat, with a pale face and bleeding arm that could need stitches. Darrick followed, with a bad cut above his right eye that would need medical attention. They quickly ran towards the Dibisen, the worst damaged of the zoids. Shrapnel was lying all over the sand.
Siani jogged over to the Lightning Saix, seeing Alex still inside, his head resting against the back panel, his legs jammed under some fallen metal and some live wires. Siani cut the power cord and levered the load off of his feet, offering him her hand to get out. She could see blood and bruises covering his face.
"Ambushed?" she asked. He only nodded. "I'll get someone to call your transport." She waved until Darrick got her point and called the transport via comm.
Throwing an arm under Alex's shoulder, she helped him to a nearby boulder, where she set him in the shade. "Broken ankle, at least," she said, glancing at him. He fanned himself and looked up at her.
"Why'd you help? Wasn't your battle."
She couldn't restrain a slight smile. "After four years of winning every zoid battle, I'm afraid you've forgotten something called comaradarie. If we hadn't driven that zoid off, he probably would have nabbed me, too." She looked up, and saw that Darrick and Jaylin had extracted Maya. "Hey!" she called. "You're both weak as kittens, you shouldn't be carrying the groceries, much less rescuing her. That's my job!" She struck a dramatic pose as the Hover Cargo came into view.
She looked down to see tears of agony in Alex's eyes. "Hey, c'mon. You've been strong before. You're a Banshee, and you survived. You did all right. No one could have beat that zoid at an even fight. Not even four somebodies."
Alex's Lightning Saix is offline. Darrick's Geno Saurer had to carry him off.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

As the four talked, a dark feeling overcame all of them. Knowing immediatly that the Blaster Liger had returned, Siani ran back to her Lighning Saix and charged up her weapons. With Team Banshee hiding in the dunes, she activated her cloak and began searching for Jarrod. As quietly and swiftly crouched behind a sand dune, she saw him. The Blaster Liger had healed its wounds and was ready for more. Man, I hoped the organoid would've learned its lesson. Now he knows my speed and attacks. He'll know what to expect, she thought. Suddenly, with no result in finding Team Banshee, the Blaster Liger ran back off into the Gyon Desert.

Siani finished hooking up the cables, waving to Darrick the all-clear. The remains of the Dibisin were hauled up behind the Geno Saurer, and with the Death Cat limping off of its own accord, the Sphynx was using its power battery to help haul the crushed body of the Lightning Saix up to the Hover Cargo.

Quickly, she made sure they were all okay before making her farewells. She smiled wryly at Alex. "My own team didn't get off so easy, Banshee. They'll need me to make up for that mindless zoid and keep their computers connected."

Alex didn't even have the ego to make a comment that Team Vargo would need a LOT of help. Instead, he just looked silently at her.

Darrick spoke up. "You joining up with that team?"

"Those weaklings? C'mon," Jaylin muttered. "You're not such a bad fighter as to waste yourself on them."

Sianara rolled her eyes expressively. "I'm a merc, people. A mercenary. I don't *join* any team. I'll be with them until they get back on their feet, and then I'll go wherever the best deal is." A troubled look flashed across her eyes. "But I don't know what I'm going to do with my life."

"Ha, well. Keep in contact. We may have to hire you some time," Darrick rejoined. Siani grimaced and waved, hopping back into the Black Sphynx before it streaked out of view.

Jarrod stood on a high standing hill as he looked on at the sunrise. "Enjoy your last moments as an inessent man." said Fange walking up beside him.

"I will always be inessent. You are the one who has forced me into doing this for you. I regret the day I found you. I should've known better." replied Jarrod turning to look to a penetentury not far from them.

"Ha, inessents. All humans lack it greatly. The scientists who made me are not inessent, though they created the most dangerous being ever known to Zi. Their fellow scientists gave them awards and money. After they found out I was too dangerous, they tried to cover up my existance. They tried to destroy me. You call that inessent! All humans are the same; they lack what machines have. Perfection." said Fange.

Fange fused himself back onto the Blaster Liger and made Jarrod climb in. Jarrod growned as his crainial implants zapped his brain, looering[sp] him to the pilots seat. After Jarrod was strapped in, the same wires entered his mouth, ears, and eyes. The Blaster Liger crouched down on top of a sand dune. Immediatly, the Blaster Liger fired its long range missiles and vulcan cannon, causing large pillowy clouds of smoke to rise into the air!

Siani groaned as she heard the distant rumble. "C'mon," she said to her Sphynx. "Get me as far as Tarree and you can take a rest." Immediately, she shut down all non-essential operations and channelled all power into the speed of her cat. In less than two hours, she had arrived in Tarree, an oasis. She had been running the Sphynx so hard that there were sand grains etched into the front of the zoid.

The small town of Tarree was known for its prestine setting, its thriving native population, and its organoids. Sianara counted up her money. Over the years, she'd stockpiled a fair amount. Enough to buy an organoid -- one very great organoid! Quickly, she guided the partially damaged zoid to a hanger dock, where her own Hover transport was waiting. She lifted the zoid up and put it into the small cleaning/restoration room.

Outside, she closed the heavy, water-tight doors and punched a series of buttons on a display panel. Sudsy white water sprayed from special faucets in the walls and roof, dousing the tired-looking zoid thoroughly. Soon, the special rollers with dirt-adhesive brushed over the metal plates, removing the dust.

She left the cleaning at that stage and loped down the boarding ramp, nodding to her brother. She mouthed "I'll tell you later" as she waved to him across the hanger. Then she hopped into a one-person hovercraft and raced off, weaving her way through the streets of the villaige to the scientific research centre. They let her in after a few moments of checking her ID, leading her down a corridor walled with glass, viewing spotless white compartments, each with a cocooned organoid in suspended animation.

"These are all functional, and show no sign of corruptability?" she asked in amazement, inspecting each one.

The superviser nodded, gesturing widely. "The ones you see here have each been chosen specifically for their good characteristics, behavior, and relative power."

"Which one of these is the most powerful?" she asked bluntly, looking around.

"Depends," the scientist replied. Siani rolled her eyes. Were they all so difficult. "What kind of droid do you have?"

"A highly modified Lightning Saix, the Black Sphynx."

"A cat droid then -- say! You're not Sianara D'qéso, are you?"

"I am."

"I had a message for you." He took an envelope from under his white coat and handed it to her. Hastily, she tore it open, noting it was from her brother. It simply said, 'Number 103 is for you.' She glanced up at the superviser. "Which one's 103?"

The scientist's eyes widened. "103? Why . . . why didn't I think of that? 103's the end, to the right. Perfectly suited for a superfast Saix."

Sianara nodded politely and went to look for herself. 103 appeared to be a very young organoid, looking like a large black kitten in shape, although it clearly was a highly intelligent organoid. Siani bought it immediately, and took it to her ship in its cocoon. Her zoid was now clean, although dripping, gleaming black.

Sianara activated the organoid, and it perked up as she spoke to it. "I am your new master, Sianara. What should I call you?"

The answer was immediate. "Whatever you wish."

"Well, 103 does not work any longer. I shall call you . . . Sukari, or Suki."

"Suki it is, Sianara."

"Acquaint yourself with your new zoid, Suki . . . the Black Sphynx. I trust you implicity with everything on board."

There was unswerving loyalty in the kitten-organoid's golden eyes. "I trust you, Sianara."

Siani sighed with relief. Things were looking up for her, at least a little. What she really needed was some friends, now.
