We subsidize farmers so they grow so much that we have to dump it at below competitive prices in South America, forcing SA farmers into narco-production, poverty, or illegal immigration.

The war in Iraq is not serving our country, it is serving our oil producers who along with the best politicians money can buy, hold the rest of us hostage to the internal combustion engine.

So would you rather lose 3000 soldiers in foriegn lands in 4 years or 3000 in 1 day here like in 9-11??
Terrorists and their allies are in other lands for the most part. It only makes semse to fight them in those foriegn lands. And have our military in the foriegn lands or near the them if not actually in them all. This way when we
need to strike the next on the list our military is already poised to attack.

I would rather lose NO-ONE.
Iraq should never have been a nation. It was Britain's idea to draw those stupid lines in the sand. They lumped shiites, Sunni's & Kurds together, not the Arabs.
WE supported Saddam & made him into a monster big enough to fight the Persians who we p.o.'d by installing a pro-western dictator(The Shah) in '53.

WE gave Saddam the gas he used against his Kurds.
WE armed the muslim fanatics in Afghanistan against the Russians in the 80's.
OUR government has been silently taken over by cash crazed lawyers & businessmen who only care about profit, and not one wit about freedom.

As long as there is Islam there will always be the necessity of war. Unless we want to be forced to deny Christ.
Saddam was a cheaper way to deal with Islamic Iran for a while.
We sold him weapons we knew were obsolete comapred to our newer better ones so if he got out of line we could always take him down.
The way we used Afghanistan helped us win the cold war.And when we had yo we took Afghanistan governement down as well.
Seems we have done everything the smart way and
freed millions in the ex Soviet Union. freed millions in Iraq
will probably free millions more in Iran soon and have
kept Israel safe.
Praise God.

I agree about Islam. It is not a religion of peace, as the illusion dictates. It is one of war.

But as far as illegal immigration itself goes, in regards to America....

"GET OUT OF MY COUNTRY! If you want to come here, that's fine, but do so LEGALLY. By coming here illegally, they show a lack of respect to me and what this country stands for.

Besides, it's a huge security risk.

My honest belief is that while illegal immigrants are breaking our laws, they are in fact, human beings. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't remember Moses and the Israelites ever going through customs or immigration on their Exodus. Yes, they are illegal immigrants, but that doesn't mean that they are objects. And it's not just Mexican immigrants, but also alot of other nationalities as well.

I pray for thgese grown-up women who are making nasty fun of a young, sharp guy trying to provoke some serious conversation. One of them is even called a 'super moderator'. You can disagree with this guy, but please do it in a way that shows that you did go to school yourselves and that you understand in what
way Christ commands us to treat each other.

I haven't made fun of you and I have not belittled you...

I do find it ironic that someone who lives half a world away feels he can tell Americans how to handle American problems.

The illegal immigration problem is simply a matter of law. People are trying to paint an emotional knee-jerk picture about it, citing the poor and downtrodden. Ironically these same people were the ones screaming for closed borders in the weeks and months following 9/11.

Time apparently does heal wounds, as well as erase memories. Illegal immigrants were the perpetrators of that terrorist attack.

If the existing immigration laws had been enforced, history would be a lot different about now.

I wasn't talking about myself. I was talking about this 18-year old American guy. He's a smart kid and if you and KarrieTex, two grown-up women (you even a 'super mod') have no other way to refute him than 'rofl' and 'swoon', then... well, don't say anything. (Am I just being "blunt as a sledgehammer" now?)

I understand the vast complexities of the illegal immigration situation in the States and I will abstain from churning out crude comments about it, knowing I don't live there and don't have all the same perspectives on the issue as you guys.

But apart from the issue and people's positions on it, your responsibility as a super moderator should definetily be to set an example of a civilized conversation style that
examplifies what the Foru.ms stands for. If you lack the patience to think, studyand give a reasonable answer to refute the opponent, then just admit it and say that you have to think and study some more and come back later, instead of just answering with 'laughter similes' to a young, genuine guy.

Oh, I see, I'm supposed to be perfect, walk on water and kiss the feet of a kid who has 0 life experience, but wants to preach about socialized citizenship adn socialized medicine and everything that is against the constitution that I fought and bled for?

Sorry, not going to happen. He's still living at home with mommy and daddy taking care of him. So excuse me if I dont' take his position on something this complex seriously based on a couple of summers working along side illegal immigrants.

That in itself is a violation of our laws!

He may be young and genuine, but he's completely naive in this matter...so yes, I will laugh if I feel like it. I've earned that.

Seriously for a moment: I think the "missing link" in any and all discussions about Illegal Immigration is the wholesale corruption and poverty that is an everyday reality in Mexico.

As long as Mexico remains the festering hell-hole it now is, Mexicans will be more than willing to risk life and limb to get out of Mexico and into the United States. And regardless of the rightness or wrongness of it, we can hardly blame them.
