.....(Moni Moni. Possible the worst single song/version ever)

.....(or pretty much anything ultra compressed sounding)

Oh man, G n R was awesome especially their first album. I wore that tape out. I also still like Quiet Riot, Slick Black Cadillac is a great song. I forgot about the human league, they were bad.

Talking heads and culture club were terrible. There are too many for just 10. I did like Billy Idol though.

I liked Idol until his songs were played to death.

The B-52's were bad, hey we agreed on something! But Ratt was awesome. That did not last too long. I was listening to them the other day.

Now GnR was objectively a hot band, no doubt. But personally I cant stand them.

Now GnR was objectively a hot band, no doubt. But personally I cant stand them.

Music is subjective, but I still like them. Their subsequent albums were worse but Appetite for Destruction is still an awesome album in my opinion.

Man, I cannot believe all the Kiss hate here. My very first album was given to me by my godparents and it was Kiss Alive II. It had the red discs. I loved that album and I still like Kiss. I think they are a fun band but to each their own.

And you bagged the Boss?! I guess it does take all sorts. And kinda boring if we didn't. I came from the era of The Stones, The Who and Led Zep (first album I bought was LZ1). So that glam rock business drove me to distraction.

May I recommend a guy on Youtube called Rick Beato. A musical producer. The guy runs a segment 'Why This Song Is Great' and regularly disects a specific song in a particular genre. He's a Boomer like me but he's opened my eyes (ears?) to a variety of music that I wouldn't listen to normally. The guy is a musical genius. He can listen to something for a few seconds and then say 'Ah, I think I've got that' and them mimic incredibly complex rifffs and chord structures like he'd been playing it for years. Even if I don't like what he's playing I'm endlessly fascinated by how he breaks it down.

And no, can't recall him doing any Kiss tracks...

It is funny how we all have different tastes but a good thing. I love the glam bands and the heavy metal bands of the 80's. Ride the lightning is probably one of the best albums ever.
