Leaf brother, you have free will and can choose what to do. I just wanted to let you and others know that the sabbath is a commandment of GOD, he asks us to keep it.Hello brother
It makes sense, then, that we would keep the Spirit of the law, not the outward ritual of Friday evening to Saturday evening
John 4:23
But the hour comes, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth
Leaf there is such a passage, Paul quoted from Jeremiah 31:31-34;
The New Covenant
Jer 31:31 Behold, the days are coming, declares the LORD, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah.
Jer 31:32 It will not be like the covenant I made with their fathers when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt— a covenant they broke, though I was a husband to them,” declares the LORD.
Jer 31:33 “But this is the covenant I will make with the house of Israel after those days, declares the LORD.
Note that it's "law" singular. The Hebrew word there is Torah, or "way"I will put My law in their minds and inscribe it on their hearts.
And I will be their God, and they will be My people.
Jer 31:34 No longer will each man teach his neighbor or his brother, saying, ‘Know the LORD,’ because they will all know Me, from the least of them to the greatest, declares the LORD. For I will forgive their iniquities and will remember their sins no more.”
is it written "I will put NEW laws?" NO it is written I will put MY LAWS.
Jesus was teaching the commandments so we know it is not NEW laws but the same Laws he said also they would not pass away until heaven and earth pass away.
Brother, it is important to obey God's law as it was given to us in trust, because only God's law will free us from sin. Only God is wise enough to give us laws that eliminate sin. Our own laws keep us in sin because we are inclined to sin and "blind" to the way that frees us from sin and only God knows the way out of sin, as Jesus tells us in the following passage. The Sabbath in Judaism is a human tradition that will not free us from sin, but if we remove the human tradition and obey the true biblical Sabbath, we will gain all the benefits God intended to give us when we obey His truth. It makes sense, then, that we would keep the Spirit of the law, not the outward ritual of Friday evening to Saturday evening

the sabbath command is also as God said, a test for us all do not forget this, God will test all of us in many ways.Only nine of the ten commands in the 10 commandments dealt with morality, how the Israelites dealt with God and their fellow man. The Sabbath command was dealing with a day. It was ceremonial just as were the feast days, new moons, food laws and circumcision. Laws dealing with morality are forever. Those ceremonial laws were for Israel only.
It is a commandment of God, and he does ask us to keep itLeaf brother, you have free will and can choose what to do. I just wanted to let you and others know that the sabbath is a commandment of GOD, he asks us to keep it.
Blessings to you, too!Blessings
Brother, Yes! And in the New Covenant we are given more information by God as to how to obey itBrother, it is important to obey God's law as it was given to us in trust,

“What sorrow awaits you teachers of religious law and you Pharisees. Hypocrites! For you shut the door of the Kingdom of Heaven in people’s faces. You won’t go in yourselves, and you don’t let others enter either. “What sorrow awaits you teachers of religious law and you Pharisees. Hypocrites! For you cross land and sea to make one convert, and then you turn that person into twice the child of hell you yourselves are! “Blind guides! What sorrow awaits you! For you say that it means nothing to swear ‘by God’s Temple,’ but that it is binding to swear ‘by the gold in the Temple.’ Blind fools! Which is more important—the gold or the Temple that makes the gold sacred? And you say that to swear ‘by the altar’ is not binding, but to swear ‘by the gifts on the altar’ is binding. How blind! For which is more important—the gift on the altar or the altar that makes the gift sacred? When you swear ‘by the altar,’ you are swearing by it and by everything on it. And when you swear ‘by the Temple,’ you are swearing by it and by God, who lives in it. And when you swear ‘by heaven,’ you are swearing by the throne of God and by God, who sits on the throne. (Matthew 23:13-22 NLT)

well at least if you keep the moral principles you are on the right track certainly.Note that it's "law" singular. The Hebrew word there is Torah, or "way"
I take it to mean all of the instructions given to the Israelites in the wilderness.
Now, are all of those instructions written on our hearts and put in our minds? Well, I don't have immediate recall of all those instructions, so I'm going to take that to mean the moral principles behind the instructions
And that goes along with what we've been talking about, it's the moral principles that we keep
I'm glad we agree on that!well at least if you keep the moral principles you are on the right track certainly.
Hi SBIt’s impossible to keep the moral principle of God’s commandments by breaking the commandments. It’s an oxymoron Jesus speaks on this in Mat 5:19-30. He condemns even our thoughts that lead to breaking His commandments because thoughts leads to action.
You can call it a ritual, God called it a commandment, no different than breaking any of the other 9 commandments. I’m not going to respond further because God has the final say, but wish you well.Hi SB
Do you follow the rituals, then?
Brother, we all have Bibles! We all learn about God's law directly by reading His guaranteed word from the prophets. The reason it is placed in our hearts is because of Jesus' pull on our heart strings through His exemplary life written in the guaranteed word of God through the prophets.Well, I don't have immediate recall of all those instructions, so I'm going to take that to mean the moral principles behind the instructions
It looks to me like something can be both a ritual and a commandment. The entire book of Leviticus is called commandmentsYou can call it a ritual, God called it a commandment,
No different from breaking the principles, true!...no different than breaking any of the other 9 commandments.
Peace be with you, my sister in ChristI’m not going to respond further because God has the final say, but wish you well.
Brother, this is not a simplification of the law, but a summary of God's law. Our love is like filthy rags! We do not know how to love as God loves. Only by obeying Him can we love as God loves. The whole law is fulfilled in one word, in this: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself
I don't know of anyone who has immediate recall of all of the instructions given to the Israelites in the wilderness. There probably are some people, very fewBrother, we all have Bibles! Therefore, I will always remind you about these things—even though you already know them and are standing firm in the truth you have been taught. And it is only right that I should keep on reminding you as long as I live. For our Lord Jesus Christ has shown me that I must soon leave this earthly life, so I will work hard to make sure you always remember these things after I am gone. For we were not making up clever stories when we told you about the powerful coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. We saw his majestic splendor with our own eyes when he received honor and glory from God the Father. The voice from the majestic glory of God said to him, “This is my dearly loved Son, who brings me great joy.” We ourselves heard that voice from heaven when we were with him on the holy mountain.Because of that experience, we have even greater confidence in the message proclaimed by the prophets. You must pay close attention to what they wrote, for their words are like a lamp shining in a dark place—until the Day dawns, and Christ the Morning Star shines in your hearts. Above all, you must realize that no prophecy in Scripture ever came from the prophet’s own understanding, or from human initiative. No, those prophets were moved by the Holy Spirit, and they spoke from God. (1 Peter 1:12-20 NLT)

Maybe, but posting what you did Doesn’t show where Sabbat blessings made an error.Following and teaching an unorthodox fringe doctrine doesn't equate to following Jesus.
Brother, this is not a simplification of the law, but a summary of God's law. Our love is like filthy rags! We do not know how to love as God loves.
Obeying the Torah that he has put in our hearts and minds!Only by obeying Him can we love as God loves.
You welcome those who gladly do good, who follow godly ways. But you have been very angry with us, for we are not godly. We are constant sinners; how can people like us be saved? We are all infected and impure with sin. When we display our righteous deeds, they are nothing but filthy rags. Like autumn leaves, we wither and fall, and our sins sweep us away like the wind. Yet no one calls on your name or pleads with you for mercy. Therefore, you have turned away from us and turned us over to our sins. (Isaiah 64:5-7 NLT)

Brother, it is not in our hearts and minds initially until we receive it directly from God's guaranteed word through the prophets. Erroneous translations have hidden God's truth from us, as the KJV did by misidentifying Joshua as Jesus in Hebrews chapter 4. Now, people have a wrong view of God's "rest" in Hebrews chapter 4 in their hearts and minds because of this misidentification in the KJV.Obeying the Torah that he has put in our hearts and minds!
I don't think reading the Bible puts all of God's Torah into our minds and hearts.Brother, it is not in our hearts and minds initially until we receive it directly from God's guaranteed word through the prophets.
I disagree that human translators can stop God from putting his Torah in our minds and heartsErroneous translations have hidden God's truth from us,

We are human, but we don’t wage war as humans do. We use God’s mighty weapons, not worldly weapons, to knock down the strongholds of human reasoning and to destroy false arguments. We destroy every proud obstacle that keeps people from knowing God. We capture their rebellious thoughts and teach them to obey Christ. And after you have become fully obedient, we will punish everyone who remains disobedient. (2 Corinthians 10:3-6 NLT)

Brother, the Jews memorized the Bible from childhood and still kept human traditions in contradiction to the word of God because they preferred those traditions over the word of God. You may like what a preacher says, but there is no guarantee that it is the word of God unless it comes through the prophets. The Roman Catholic Church did not learn from the mistake of the Jews and has gone its own way, collecting even more human traditions than the Jews, in contradiction to the word of God.I don't think reading the Bible puts all of God's Torah into our minds and hearts. If it did, we'd only need to read it once. After that, we could just look in our minds and hearts to see what it said
Unless you learn the original languages of the Bible, you are relying on the translation of uninspired translators to do a good job of giving you God's word and not their own uninspired view of God's word. Our prophetess, Ellen G. White, encouraged us by revealing the Bible's design to overcome these obstacles.I disagree that human translators can stop God from putting his Torah in our minds and hearts
