You have to decide whether to believe the Bible or science on this one.
There's no reason to choose one over the other.
If you go for the Bible then you are wilfully disregarding applied and proven scientific knowledge.

No, Im disregarding materialism.

There are people who still believe the Earth is flat. What a waste!
I heard a rumor that some [real] scientists think the universe is flat.

didn't you read the link? they always did, "Darwinist" made up that to make Biblical literalists look stupid! ahh nothing like re-writing history to sooth your ego.

in 100 years "Darwinists" will have made up creationists too. ;)

the biblical literalists need no help with this.

And there are no Darwinists. but I guess they will never admit that, coz it seems a good way to call names,

It's sad that people will cling to erroneous theories in the face of all good evidence until death. as if they're throwing away what God truly gave them. They will forever side with what is obviously wrong merely to justify the dogma that they misunderstood in the first place. Creationism is merely the latest in the long line of debunked foolishness. There are people who still believe the Earth is flat. What a waste!

You seem to be describing creationists ? :D

There is no reason why we cannot have a flat: solar system, Galaxy, or Universe. Besides; flatness depends on the magnification, so from afar it could be said that something is flat but through a microscope or telescope depending on what we are observing and it is a different story.
So from afar, the earth is or is not flat? which?

I edited my post as soon as I posted it. Please re read it. Man are you fast AV  But to answer to your question: From afar the earth looks like a blue dot. In order for one to define something as flat, one has to look at the section view or side view.

Does this look flat to you?

This is a dot, that incidentally we all call home:

This begs the question then:

Could the creator of a universe write in his diary that the earth is flat -- (viewing it from his throne) -- and be correct?

If so, could that be construed as a prescient entry in his diary?

One would think that the "creator," having created it round, not flat, would know better.

I think I'll go ahead and take this with a grain of sand, since something can be both round and flat at the same time.

Not to mention the fact that you're missing my point.

The "point" is that you little semantic game only works if God is looking at a photograph of Earth, or is as myopic as you need Him to be in order to sound clever.

Too proud to admit yet another failure, AV?

No. The creator would be incorrect. The earth is spherical. A view from space or "his throne" would reveal a spherical earth.

Nope -- you can't have it both ways:

You can't slag the Bible for [allegedly] stating the earth is flat, then turn around and claim the whole universe is technically flat as a pancake.
