I have often wondered what Muslims think about what we have in the CCC referring to them.

Probably nothing. Why would anyone outside of the RCC take into account what the CCC says about them one way or another? Islam isn't looking for brotherhood or equality with Christianity of any kind anyway, so it wouldn't surprise me if all the nice words in the world fall upon deaf ears when compared to with the instructions of the Qur'an, Hadith, Sira, etc. regarding how to treat those of other religions.

If I'm wrong then someone correct me, but I don't think there were any representatives from Islam present when the Second Vatican Council decided to say that about what Muslims believe.

But, if you allow me, I wouldn't be half so irritating if about 3 posters on this forum were kept on as short a leash as you'd keep me.

Beyond that, tbh I don't get the flap over whether Islam is "Christian heresy" or not. Unless you're doing a case study on the word "heresy," it seems rather pedantic to me.

That's easy. It's because of relativism and this idea that we have to be nice to everyone so those people want to just say everything if gine with things like Islam

Actually, Islam was spread by the sword and by promises of wealth and sexual pleasures (72 virgins) to those who would join Muhammad's religion. That combined with how the new religion retained a lot of elements of the pagan religion of the region made it appealing to pagans. For example, the Hajj pilgrimages to Mecca had been a pagan tradition that predates Islam, and Islam preserves the Arabian mythology of the jinn (or genie). But there is nothing in Islam that appeals to Christians since it demands that we renounce our core beliefs. That's why Christians were killed by the sword. The ones who weren't killed had to live under subjugation and pay a "jizya" (tax). According to Islamic history, Muhammad himself fought in nine engagements.
