But there is nothing in Islam that appeals to Christians since it demands that we renounce our core beliefs.
There is one thing that appeals to many Christians.
(Well okay, two things, but "not being killed or heavily taxed for your religious beliefs" hardly counts).
The attractive bit of Islam for many people is that it does away with mysteries. God is three persons in one being? That's too hard to contemplate, so throw it out. God is all-powerful but made himself meek and vulnerable? That makes us uncomfortable, so throw it out. Which of these many discussions of ethics is the most true? Ignore them all, it's just whatever God says that goes.
Christianity forces us to deal with suffering and doubt. We must bear a cross. Islam demands submission, but nothing else. For many people that is the easier path to take.
