Why Islam is not Christian

But there is nothing in Islam that appeals to Christians since it demands that we renounce our core beliefs.

There is one thing that appeals to many Christians.

(Well okay, two things, but "not being killed or heavily taxed for your religious beliefs" hardly counts).

The attractive bit of Islam for many people is that it does away with mysteries. God is three persons in one being? That's too hard to contemplate, so throw it out. God is all-powerful but made himself meek and vulnerable? That makes us uncomfortable, so throw it out. Which of these many discussions of ethics is the most true? Ignore them all, it's just whatever God says that goes.

Christianity forces us to deal with suffering and doubt. We must bear a cross. Islam demands submission, but nothing else. For many people that is the easier path to take.

Yes, one. He's a jerk to his girlfriend, stalks her when she goes out for drinks with my wife, and disallowed her to celebrate Christmas this season (she has two kids too) even though they don't even live together. Ironically, he's also a drug dealer. My sister is dating a county cop who knows all the juicy details about this guy and he's a slimeball.

Me too. Only I know countless of them and this behavior is few and far between. I have the displeasure of knowing one Muslim personally and he fits a stereotype.

I have worked with some Arab and Somalian Muslims, I also spent 6 months in Morocco as an exchange student back when I was in university

I get along very well with Muslims, most of them are very courteous and polite
they have a sense of decorum that most Americans lack

on the other hand, they also have problems with honor killings

Islam isn't even remotely related to Christ. Islam doesn't believe Christ is savior of the world and God's only begotten son.
This video is interesting. The audio is a bit much but the part that speaks of the Aramaic Bible's reference to the Kaaba is the relevant point here. As well as Muhammad. Basically Islam itself is condemned.

When this was the earlier translation, first century, of God's word preceding the Greek I don't think we can miss what God's word said about Islam.

I see the claim made over and over again that Islam is a Christian heresy.

Here's why Islam is not Christian and is not even a Christian heresy:

1) The founder of Islam, Muhammad, was never a Christian.

2) Islam explicitly rejects Christianity. The Quran directly addresses Christians and tells us to give up our faith in the Holy Trinity and calls us deceived. And Muslims believe that our Holy Bible has been corrupted. They tell a totally new and different story and say that Adam and Eve, Abraham, and all the rest were Muslims. And they say that Abraham's blessing was through Ismael instead of through Isaac. This is why Islam is inherently hostile to the Jewish people since it says in the Holy Bible that Isaac was the one who received the blessing and that therefore the Jews are God's first chosen people.

3) Islam has more in common with the pagan religion of Muhammad's ancestors than it has in common with Christianity.

4) Muhammad's teachings and example are the opposite of Jesus. Jesus tells us to love our enemies and to forgive them even when they persecute us. But Muhammad tells his followers to kill the unbelievers.

But aren't there Muslims who are peaceful?
Yes.

Who are they?
The secular Muslims or a Muslim in name alone, the ones who don't follow all of the teachings of Muhammad.

But can't Christianity be taken to the extreme?
Yes. An example of Christianity taken to the extreme is Mother Teresa of Calcutta.

Some have become my friends .

They are an asset to the town .

I think that it would be useful to stop wishing for the good old days when everyone looked and believed as we did. Of course, those days never really existed.
