80's you mean the sound i take it.
they are very goth death metal though. I understand the 80's sound you are referring to though. the "fan" name is always immortal..the band is actually immortal souls. sounds like we are talking about the same band though. Did you read the review>?
Anyway, they are from Finland and just signed with Facedown Records. They are still with the Eurpoean label, Fear Dark. Facedown deals with a lot of extreme core bands in the xtian scene. they are from finland.
I thought they were from Norway.
We are talking about Immortal Souls.
Yeah, it's the sound that's 80's. They have an old school influence. They have the talent though.

Aaaargh...forget it. They are from Finland. It's Immortal that's from Norway. I get confused when all the names are alike. I think Immortal is secular, not sure, but Immortal Souls is Christian. Gotta get used to distinguishing between them.

I was mixing both bands thinking they were the same one.

What's some Christian hyperspeed black metal in the vein of Marduk or Anaal Nathrakh?
Okay, I'm not familiar with Marduk or Anaal Nathrakh, or particularly into Black Metal, but 2 spring to mind: Mortification and Extol.

Or if you like a classical influence (ie: Nightwish) I heartily recommend Savior machine and Virgin Black.

Well well! What do we have here? The Christian police?

Show me where in the Bible it say's listening to secular Music is evil?
I think it's OK as long as it isn't offensive, there are Christians out there who are in secular bands like U2, POD, lifehouse and a few others. I see nothing wrong with discussing secular music.

agreed......

Is this for non-believers or something?

The Bible teaches Christians shouldn't listen to secular music which doesn't bring glory to God.

Now, an unbeliever, I understand them listening to secular music, but a Christian has no excuse to be listening to the music. It promotes an apathetic and flippant lifestyle toward Christian things.

Can we discuss this?

well what would you suggest? most professed christian groups these day cant even practice what they preach...at least the secular ones sing about what is reall....wouldnt God want us to be real...and honest?

Because not all secular music is bad. A song doesn't have to be about Jesus to bring honor to God. There are plenty of songs out there that are not labeled "Christian" that don't go against God's teaching by any means of their content. Also, what about instrumental music? That is technically secular, but how is that not honoring God playing an instrument beautifully?

So I'm a wacko because I try to follow the path outlined in the Bible? I try to stay away from things that don't help me spiritually, so I'm a wacko? So be it.

I don't believe he's calling you a wacko because you are trying to stay away from what hurts you spiritually, but rather because you are trying to impose your standards of what is helpful and what is harmful on everyone else.

the bible says that in every thing you do, praise the lord. That means that when you are listening to music it should be praising the lord and secular music dose not praise god

I can see how that would make since...You better not be sleeping anymore, because there is no possible way to praise God while you are sleeping. Not even every Chapter of every book of the bible has to do with praising God, so does that make it a sin now to read those parts of the bible?

You still have yet to prove how Secular music cannot praise God, or what praising God intails. Giving praise to God does NOT equal music.

Actually, sleeping is something God intended for us to do. I guess you don't read Psalms

It sad to see people throwing out the Bible in favor of their own reasoning :sigh:

I personally think it's sad to see someone throw out their common sense in favor of an overliteral interpretation of the Bible, but maybe that's just me ;)

Common sense? It's common sense to listen to unChristian music which usually is openly against the things of Christ?

I'm sure everyone here also like's Garth Brooks, you know, the "Christian" who sings, "I got friends in low places, where the whiskey flows and the beer chases my blues away. . ."
