Why do YECists have such a low opinion of God?

No, it wouldn't --- but as I have said before --- this universe eventually landed in the hands of Satan, and he can't handle it like he thought he could. He does not have the power required to prevent entropy, and this universe is winding down to a uniform temperature.

Aw nuts, who could have forseen that?

Either that, or He documented what He did quite clearly.[

That's the trouble he didn't did he, or all Christians would hold the same beliefs that you do, and they don't do they? You are in a tiny minority.

Which he didn't, as you admitted. Therefore the only remaining possibilities are

  1. God is a deceiver for not telling us what he did or
  2. this planet really is 4.5 billion years old.

Along with a geologic column full of fossils of animals that never existed and ample other evidence of great age? Wouldn't that be deceptive? Did this fully functioning world have all the evidence of meteor strikes and massive vulcanism already in place? Did God not only removing all evidence of the global flood the Bible claims he used to destroy his botched creation but also creating a great deal of evidence that it never happened? Wouldn't that be deceptive?
I belive what was created mature; mineral, rocks, sand, coal, tar, etc., simply got mixed up with everything alive at the time of the FLOOD. It isn't the bones that are dated, it is the minerals found in the bones, the layer they are found, or the supposed date of the sandstone/limestone they're impression was formed in.

Fools are deceived through their own impertinence. The Bible is clear who made the universe and what it was created with. The Bible is also very clear that CREATION took but a week and not billions of years.

But you believe it without evidence.

what is created mature;
Nonsense.

mineral, rocks, sand, coal, tar, etc., simply got mixed up with everything alive at the time of the FLOOD.
There wasn't a global flood as described in the Bible.

So basically you're making everything up.

Then the Bible is wrong.

The Bible is known as "The Infallible Word of God."
Only by Fundamentalists such as yourself who translate "good" into "perfect."

"I" invented it?

I thought Omphalos and Last Thursdayism use it, too?

Two things I've been accused of being.
Wasn't it your pastor who came up with "embedded" age?

Do "rapture" and "trinity" also qualify as "inserted ideas," Vene?
I would say yes. They certainly don't come from the Bible... do they?

And it wasn't God who wrote the Bible, it was fallible Men.

Makes perfect sense. There is lots of data, only the interpretations of that data varies depending on one's perspective. There was a global FLOOD as discribed in the Holy Bible. So honestly, a theory is contrived from what one believes/imagines/thinks he sees.....

Then at least use the right terminology. A self-fulfilled prophecy is not what you were describing.

Fair enough -- what I'm describing is Foreshadowing -- a common enough literary device.

And if you think you're "teaching" by calling the author (Joseph, in this case) a liar, guess again.

I guess you're too entrenched in your own dogma to accept this story as anything but historical fact.

Not much of a guess, actually, but more like a sure thing.

If you can't teach me the account as it was written, then by all means, consider me "unwilling to learn."

So, historical context means nothing to you? Wow, you must believe everything you read.

I'll take a literal interpretation over any interpretation that makes Joseph out to be a deceiver.

So, You will not accept Joseph writing anything but absolutely accurate, unembellished fact? Anything less, and you brand him a deceiver?

Is it that you love Joseph so much, or trust him so little?

Your opinion of Joseph is even lower than that of God -- and not even your irrelevent out-of-context Bible quote can whitewash it.

So make perfect sense out of these data in terms of a global flood. They are from Glenn Morton's web page on the geologic column. Glenn gives lots of information on each layer so you should be able to tell us which layers are flood deposits and which are not and how the flood deposited those layers that are flood deposits.
Tertiary Ft. Union Fm ..........................100 feet
Cretaceous Greenhorn Fm .......................4910 feet
Cretaceous Mowry Fm........................... 5370 feet
Cretaceous Inyan Kara Fm.......................5790 feet
Jurassic Rierdon Fm............................6690 feet
Triassic Spearfish Fm..........................7325 feet
Permian Opeche Fm..............................7740 feet
Pennsylvanian Amsden Fm........................7990 feet
Pennsylvanian Tyler Fm.........................8245 feet
Mississippian Otter Fm.........................8440 feet
Mississippian Kibbey Lm........................8780 feet
Mississippian Charles Fm.......................8945 feet
Mississippian Mission Canyon Fm................9775 feet
Mississippian Lodgepole Fm....................10255 feet
Devonian Bakken Fm............................11085 feet
Devonian Birdbear Fm..........................11340 feet
Devonian Duperow Fm...........................11422 feet
Devonian Souris River Fm......................11832 feet
Devonian Dawson Bay Fm........................12089 feet
Devonian Prairie Fm...........................12180 feet
Devonian Winnipegosis Grp.....................12310 feet
Silurian Interlake Fm.........................12539 feet
Ordovician Stonewall Fm.......................13250 feet
Ordovician Red River Dolomite.................13630 feet
Ordovician Winnipeg Grp.......................14210 feet
Ordovician Black Island Fm....................14355 feet
Cambrian Deadwood Fm..........................14445 feet
Precambrian...................................14945 feet

Here are some more data from Glenn Morton on living and extinct mammals compared to where those mammals appear in stratigraphy

On the genus level the numbers of members of extant mammalian genera in the various geological epochs is:
oldest
Triassic there are 4 genera--no living members
Jurassic 43 genera-no living members
Cretaceous 36 genera-no living members
Paleocene 213 genera-no living members
Eocene 569 genera-3 extant genera
Oligocene 494 genera 11 extant genera
Miocene 749 genera 57 extant genera
Pliocene 762 genera 133 extant genera
Pleistocene 830 genera 417 extant genera
youngest

Please make "perfect sense" of these data for us. Please explain how post flood survival of animals at the genus level is so perfectly inversely correlated with how deeply the fossils of those animals were supposedly buried by the global flood.

After that perhaps you can make sense of massive salt deposits, trace fossils throughout the fossil record that indicate animals going about their daily buisness with no evidence of a global flood and of course I would really like some YEC to make "perfect sense" of the earth's biogeography which makes no sense at all in terms of a the global flood.

Young Earth Creationist Geology only works when the Creationist expressing said geology has no working knowledge of how rocks form, what rocks look like, or how structures on the planet form or what they look like.

YEC Geology is a perfect combination of words without any technical meaning.

That sounds exactly like what happens why they argue against the Theory of Evolution. It's sad that they have to use false statements and assertions to support their origins myth.

yes and this "evidence" is false, it is impossible for a flood to do what AIG is claming
GOD caused Israel to walk through the Red Sea on dry land and drowned the Egyptians..... Is that also impossible?
