Debate is allowed in all sections of the forum. And taking the fifth is, in the first instance, a refusal to answer a question. Which you hadn't asked. But which I have. About Jesus and his credit for the ethical direction of society. And all I've received is a book suggestion. Which I'm reasonably confident doesn't mention Him at all.

Put up the original quote?
The one I quoted. '...for ever and ever'.
"No, as far as rational, social development can be seen among the human species, I credit Jesus of Nazareth for much of the ideological and ethical (re)direction in the world."
Ah yes, that."No, as far as rational, social development can be seen among the human species, I credit Jesus of Nazareth for much of the ideological and ethical (re)direction in the world."
You should meet the urinal colonels!Philosophy majors are the most tiresome people on campus.
Ah yes, that.
I wondered too what that supposrdly consists of but
it became obvious I was not going to find out.
As a newly arrived student I encountered " Campus
Crusade" and being curious about this exotic religion
I listened and asked questions.
I wondered about crediting this "Jesus" and teaching
in church the things we grow up with as just the right
way to live.
Ive seen nothing original / unique in Jesus'
teachings, those teachings seem like the folk wisdom
of his time attributed to one person, a pattern seen elsewhere.
You do know that translations can vary a bit. That is why I like to check using Biblehub:The one I quoted. '...for ever and ever'.
It says devil, the beast and the false prophet will be tormented day and night forever and ever. Which could still mean for an age and an age.
That is true. But the popularity of the Christian religion allowed them to be spread quite a bit more.Ah yes, that.

Yep! I mean, it wasn't difficult to pick Jesus' teachings out from the Competition.
And it still isn't difficult...
Hmm, it is said that quite a bit of what he taught was awfully close to communism:Then feel free to tell us of something original He taught. If it's not difficult it must be...easy.

I'm sure you could convince yourself of that.

Was Jesus a communist?
