Crusade" and being curious about this exotic religion
I listened and asked questions.

I wondered about crediting this "Jesus" and teaching
in church the things we grow up with as just the right
way to live.

Ive seen nothing original / unique in Jesus'
teachings, those teachings seem like the folk wisdom
of his time attributed to one person, a pattern seen elsewhere.

Which I don't consider to be a bad thing. Jesus reminded us of many moral positions that we should adopt. The main one being the Golden Rule. If that's all you take from his teachings then it's an excellent base for developing a personal morality.

I've always considered Him to be a socialist. Or perhaps more in the mould of the more modern social democrat. Which Americans seem to class as socialism.
