CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Why do I sound this way when I am only describing how I see the viewpoint of the majority of russians?
Let me ask you a different question: How much dancing in the streets do you think the Ukranian people would get in after the "cessation of hostilities" by their surrender to Russia before the Russian invaders came into their town, killed anyone they didn't like, raped all the women and girls and stole the toilets and washing machines?

So Russia should get voting rights in the United Kingdom Parliament, as well? After all, the UK is various countries, as well, and is also in Europe -- though the UK (and its countries) also has no vote in the EU.

Russia fails to meet nearly all of the basic requirements for Commonwealth membership.
It lacks a historic constitutional association with either the UK or another Commonwealth member
It lacks any commitment to democracy and democratic processes, including free and fair elections and representative legislatures;
It doesn't adhere to the rule of law (neither domestic nor international)
It doesn't adhere to principles around international co-operation, use of force and coercion
It lacks an independent judiciary
It doesn't meet standards of good governance, including basic transparency of public accounts
It doesn't protect of human rights, including racial and religious discrimination
It doesn't have freedom of expression
Only to Russian propagandists
