I wasn’t recommending that, just pointing out that our God isn’t sappy and sentimental about The Children. Many self-righteous people use them as sheeps' clothing while they do the work of Satan (by rebuilding Babel).
And yet the verse I quoted came from the earthly mouthpiece of the Trinity.

In regards to the first verse I'm not even sure we agree on how you'd fit into that story.

Given the context of your stories I'd wager you put forward a weak argument.

Point of clarity; are we talking about asylum seekers or refugees? Given that these people are arriving at border crossings (some of them right?) They would not be criminals in any way shape or form.

And yet they should be treated like them?

The mods will also observe the extreme, knee-jerk reactions by liberals and atheists that my threads usually get. No questions, just invective.
I don't think calling out and being shocked by someone who supports inflicting trauma on children is "extreme" in any way.

Employment isn't the purpose of fleeing oppression as refugee. Why not flee to a country with the same language and similar culture?

There is something very sinister going on with this movement, and I'm sure it will be revealed in time.

I don't see what is complicated about it - people born in places where they have few opportunities may be motivated to go and live somewhere where they, and their children, will have better opportunities. In a lot of cases the lack of opportunities in their own countries lead to higher levels of crime, violence, instability etc. In the case of Central America some of the issues may be collateral from the US's involvement in overthrowing socialist or left leaning governments in several countries. Regardless of any arguments for that the fallout for people living there was pretty bad.
What do you see as being sinister? Do you expect people fleeing poverty and violence to behave in an orderly and reasonable fashion at all times?

The irony is that empty prisons are the only reasonable place to house and care for large numbers of migrants that we can't release into the country. All the space and facilities are there; private rooms with 'facilities', large cafeterias, clinics, playgrounds, as well as security.

Perhaps you should address the refugee problems in your own country.

I don't support inflicting trauma on children. Whatever gave you that idea? If it were up to me a barrier would be in place and they wouldn't even have come here.

A fair number of people who register as refugees register here only to get access to other EU countries, although where refugees have settled in Romania it has generally been quite sucessful. When I was last in the UK I set up some services for asylum seekers that I ran for a few years, here I live in a small place where it isn't an issue.

The way I understand it middle eastern refugees aren't particularly welcomed in Romania.

Welcomed by some / not by others. There have been middle Eastern communities here for centuries. It's probably true though that any refugees here would feel more pressure to assimilate than they might in Western Europe, but that's just my impression.

Learning the language is almost mandatory as I understand it. We have no such requirement. And because of the sheer numbers of Latinos they don't feel the need.

There's no requirement for people applying to settle in the US to learn English?

I’m not an expert, but I don’t think there’s any English proficiency requirement for resident alien (“Green card”) status. Passing an English test is required for citizenship. But there are exceptions if you’re over a certain age and have lived in the US as a resident alien for a certain number of years.
