And are the rumors circulating in the leftwing media true?

According to people who actually know and worked with the guy, no. Just like a lot of the propaganda lately, it's pretty much manufactured stories or twisted reports to cast Trump as guilty by association.

As mentioned previously, Trump's own son-in-law is a religious, observant Jew and his daughter Ivanka, a convert. It makes zero sense he would take advice from what Media Matters (Soros funded alt-left site) called "a notorious anti-Semite".

Further, a well-known NYC priest, Fr. Jonathan Morris states:

Father-Jonathan Morris

I've known Steve Bannon as a close friend for nearly fifteen years. I've never heard or seen a racist word or action from him.

Pamela Geller, a Jew, has known and worked with Bannon for years. She stands behind him 100%

I'm not going to cut and paste, rather read the entire article before commenting.

I would become physically ill if some lunatic like Pam Geller "vouched" for me.

If I had been head hog at Daily Kos, would you believe me if I said I really wasn't all that into socialism? same thing with Bannon. He's been a big deal at Breitbart, which is one step above WeeklyWorldNews, so he's got a few people skeptical about who he is.

In other words, "I Can't be Racist -- I Have Black Friends: Trump Administration Edition". Ho hum.

And Pam Geller really is a crazy person. I do not care if she is also a Jew. She is completely batty. The fact that she endorses him only makes him seem all the more questionable.

Anyone Trump appoints to anything will be according to the left evil incarnate.
Andrew Breitbart is dead, so Bannon is the heir apparent to the Evil Incarnate title.

He was in charge of the site and it ran several columns during that time that could be seen as coming very close to crossing the line. One of which called someone a "renegade Jew" and another of note basically made it seem like a Jewish journalist was part of some elite cabal ready to impose its will on everybody a la Protocols of the Elders of Zion and included the line "Hell hath no fury like a Polish, Jewish, American elitist scorned". Now you can argue that he didn't write them, but he was in charge and they weren't taken down or modified even when the comments section picked up on what might be a "dog whistle" there.

There is also the story that his ex-wife told about not wanting to send his children to a school with Jews, but that's an ex-wife and it could be false.

This talk about about Steven Bannon is starting to remind me of the descriptions of Ben "If I use one of his actual nicknames I'd get banned from CF" Garrison.
Welcome to the new standard, they're evil because I don't like them, therefore I don't like them because they're evil.....I don't need to wait and see what they do.

How about "I can't refute the facts posted about Mr. Bannon, so's I'll just label them as "baseless accusations and rumor-mongering".

You haven't addressed any of the information posted in the thread.

The Ben Garrison thing makes me wonder if someone suggested Steve Bannon was a white nationalist purely for laughs, and then people who found the claim politically expedient didn't realize that it was a joke.

Ben Garrison himself was sought after for interviews on numerous occasions, because the media wanted to spotlight him as a "Nazi Trump supporter", only to find out that Garrison certainly wasn't a Nazi and (at the time) wasn't even really a Trump supporter. Of course the fact that his reputation was destroyed purely for laughs is an interesting news story in and of itself, but none of the media was interested in that.

Which is all very nice but, who cares? Unless President Trump is appointing him to some high-level position, which is not the case, yet.

The point is that he became known primarily as a racist despite doing absolutely nothing to warrant the title, because people took information and regurgitated it uncritically.

The lesson you took from it seems to be that he must really be a racist and so should be shut out of political office permanently.

Well at least that explains why people are so willing to spread such accusations: the punishment for being accused is the same as the punishment for being guilty, so it doesn't really matter where they came from as long as they have the right effect.

Nothing of the sort was stated nor implied. Rather, people who actually know him, not the leftwing media complex, are vouching for him.

Your unfounded smear of Geller is noted.

Well he's an ex executive of Brietbart, which is an alt right news organization. Alt right is the politically correct term for White Nationalism. There's good reason to be skeptical of him.
Breitbart isn't an alt-right website, no matter how much people like to pretend it is.
