It seems impossible for me know so I don't know. It seems right however.

Wow that was fantastic share!Yup. Jesus said that the Pharisees believed the Talmud over scripture. Paul was a Pharisee and he agreed with Jesus after his conversion but ikilled Christians before his conversion.
The Talmud is a creation of the scribes and Pharisees. They started creating it approximately 400 years before Jesus' day. They did this to, in their own words, create a hedge about the law.
Here is a quote from a Jew who became a Christian. His name was F.C. Gilbert and he wrote several books. This quote comes from his book Practical Lessons from the Experience of Israel.
I have e=book copies of parts of the Talmud and the Pharisees had thousands of laws covering every aspect of human behavior. There are literally hundreds of laws concerning washing your hands and doing dishes. They were extremely legalistic and had no love for their fellow man,.
Jesus is God's word made flesh and the Mosaic Law is God's word, so it is contradictory to think that we find rest in him alone instead of finding rest in obeying the Mosaic Law. Jesus set a sinless example for us to follow of how to walk in obedience to row Mosaic Law, and in Matthew 11:28-30, he was inviting people to come to him for rest and to learn from him, not inviting people to come to him for rest instead of learning from him. Moreover, by Jesus saying that we would find rest for our souls, he was referencing Jeremiah 6:16-19, where the Mosaic Law is described as the good way where we will find rest for our souls.Have we entered His rest? If so then why are we pushing Moses law? That was a heavy burden. Can we not see this in scripture? Does this prove that we have not yet entered his rest? Jesus is where we find our rest. Only in him alone.
In Acts 15:11, it makes it clear that what was being referred to as a heavy burden in Acts 15:10 was not the Mosaic Law, but a means of salvation that was an alternative to salvation by grace, namely salvation by circumcision that was proposed by the men from Judea in Acts 15:1.Acts 15 And certain men came down from Judea and taught the brethren, “Unless you are circumcised according to the custom of Moses, you cannot be saved.” 2 Therefore, when Paul and Barnabas had no small dissension and dispute with them, they determined that Paul and Barnabas and certain others of them should go up to Jerusalem, to the apostles and elders, about this question.
3 So, being sent on their way by the church, they passed through Phoenicia and Samaria, describing the conversion of the Gentiles; and they caused great joy to all the brethren. 4 And when they had come to Jerusalem, they were received by the church and the apostles and the elders; and they reported all things that God had done with them. 5 But some of the sect of the Pharisees who believed rose up, saying, “It is necessary to circumcise them, and to command them to keep the law of Moses.”
The Jerusalem Council
6 Now the apostles and elders came together to consider this matter. 7 And when there had been much dispute, Peter rose up and said to them: “Men and brethren, you know that a good while ago God chose among us, that by my mouth the Gentiles should hear the word of the gospel and believe. 8 So God, who knows the heart, [a]acknowledged them by giving them the Holy Spirit, just as He did to us, 9 and made no distinction between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith. 10 Now therefore, why do you test God by putting a yoke on the neck of the disciples which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear? 11 But we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be saved in the same manner as they.”
12 Then all the multitude kept silent and listened to Barnabas and Paul declaring how many miracles and wonders God had worked through them among the Gentiles. 13 And after they had [c]become silent, James answered, saying, “Men and brethren, listen to me: 14 Simon has declared how God at the first visited the Gentiles to take out of them a people for His name. 15 And with this the words of the prophets agree, just as it is written:
16 ‘After this I will return
And will rebuild the tabernacle of David, which has fallen down;
I will rebuild its ruins,
And I will set it up;
17 So that the rest of mankind may seek the Lord,
Even all the Gentiles who are called by My name,
Says the [d]Lord who does all these things.’
18 [e]“Known to God from eternity are all His works. 19 Therefore I judge that we should not trouble those from among the Gentiles who are turning to God, 20 but that we write to them to abstain from things polluted by idols, from [f]sexual immorality, from things strangled, and from blood. 21 For Moses has had throughout many generations those who preach him in every city, being read in the synagogues every Sabbath.”
The Jerusalem Decree
22 Then it pleased the apostles and elders, with the whole church, to send chosen men of their own company to Antioch with Paul and Barnabas, namely, Judas who was also named Barsabas,[g] and Silas, leading men among the brethren.
23 They wrote this letter by them:
The apostles, the elders, and the brethren,
To the brethren who are of the Gentiles in Antioch, Syria, and Cilicia:
Greetings.
24 Since we have heard that some who went out from us have troubled you with words, unsettling your souls, [h]saying, “You must be circumcised and keep the law”—to whom we gave no such commandment— 25 it seemed good to us, being assembled with one accord, to send chosen men to you with our beloved Barnabas and Paul, 26 men who have risked their lives for the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. 27 We have therefore sent Judas and Silas, who will also report the same things by word of mouth. 28 For it seemed good to the Holy Spirit, and to us, to lay upon you no greater burden than these necessary things: 29 that you abstain from things offered to idols, from blood, from things strangled, and from sexual[j] immorality. If you keep yourselves from these, you will do well.
God commanded to keep the 7th day holy, not to worship on a particular day. The Israelites worshiped God on every day, which included worshiping God on Sunday and obeying His command to keep the 7th day holy. In 1 Peter 1:16, we are told to be holy for God is holy, which is a quote from Leviticus where God was giving instructions for how to do that, which includes keeping His Sabbaths holy (Leviticus 19:2-3) and refraining from eating unclean animals (Leviticus 11:44-45), so those eternal instructions teach us about His eternal holiness, and if God were not holy, then He would not have given those instructions.I think we just see it differently but that’s cool. We probably agree on much more than we disagree upon.
I don’t think whether we worship on Saturday or Sunday says anything about God. He remains the same regardless. What does it say about him? That he prefers that we rest on Saturday because he likes college football better than the NFL?
Our obligation to obey what God has commanded is based on His sovereignty, not based on what what we believe or feel.I understand your viewpoint and it’s perfectly cool with me. If you believe that all of the OT laws are applicable to you, then I understand how you feel that you have to follow them.
Christ spent his ministry teaching his followers to obey the Mosaic Law by word and by example, so while Gentiles do not need to become Jews in order to follow him, Gentiles can't follow him by refusing to follow what he taught. Following Jesus is not just for Jews, but for Gentiles too.But again - I don’t view the mosaic law as binding on Christians. I am not a Jew. I was not circumcised into the Jewish faith.
In Matthew 4:15-23, Jesus began his ministry with the Gospel message to repent for the Kingdom of God is at hand, and the Mosaic Law was how his audience knew what sin is (Romans 3:20), so repenting from our disobedience to it is a central part of the Gospel of the Kingdom, which is in accordance with Jesus being sent in fulfillment of the promise to bless us by turning us from our wickedness (Acts 3:25-26), which is the Gospel of the Kingdom that was made known in advance to Abraham in accordance with the promise (Galatians 3:8), and which he taught to Gentiles in Haran in accordance with the promise (Genesis 12:1-5), so Jesus was not creating an entirely new Kingdom with its own unique set of rules. By refusing to follow God's instructions for how to be holy as He is holy, you are treating God as if He were not holy.I think that Jesus created an entirely new Kingdom (which I believe is the Catholic Church with Peter as the first pope) with its own unique set of rules that are binding on Christians. There is some overlap between what is binding on Jews and what is binding on Christians, but not everything that is binding on Jews is binding on Christians, which is why I can eat pork and can worship on Sunday instead of Saturday.
In Deuteronomy 13:1-5, the way that God instructed His people to determine that someone is a false prophet who was not speaking for Him was if they taught against obeying the Mosaic Law, so if Jesus and the Apostles had done as you suggest, then those who consider them to be false prophets would be correctly acting in accordance with what God has instructed them to do. In Ezekiel 36:26-27, the Holy Spirit as the role of leading us to obey the Mosaic Law and in Psalms 40:8, the Father has straightforwardly made His will known through the Mosaic Law.And I more or less believe that Jesus granted certain men (the apostles and their successors) with authority to set the rules in the new Kingdom, and that the Holy Spirit guides them such that they teach nothing contrary to God’s will.
Christ spent his ministry teaching his followers to obey the Mosaic Law by word and by example and what Christ taught is applicable to Christians and has always been intended to be.Basically I subscribe to a distinction between the old law and the new law. The old is not applicable to Christians and was never intended to be.
The purpose of a Bible discussion forum is to discuss how we interpret the Bible differently. If we all interpreted the Bible in the same way, then there would be no point in discussing theology. Now, you disagree with that of course and I’m sure you have some Scripture verses to prove your view, and that’s cool. But I interpret the Bible differently than you. I think that’s what it comes down to but there is still a lot that we can agree on.
We keep every day holy, including Sabbath, when we are Holy. I dont do my works any more. I live in Christ. I left this world of darkness and death and I dont do its ways any more. This feels like cut and paste or the rehashing of old material. It feels like a chatbot is responding to me with a bunch of preprogrammed responses and memorized verses.God commanded to keep the 7th day holy, not to worship on a particular day. God could have commanded His people to keep every day holy if He had wanted and if that made sense, but He did not, but rather He commanded to keep the 7th day holy. A day that is holy is a day that is set apart and in order for a day to be set apart there needs to be a day that it is set apart from, so to treat every day the same is to treat none of them as holy. If we did on every day what God wants us to do on the Sabbath, then we would do no work, but God also wants us to work. Christ walked in obedience to the Mosaic Law, including keeping the 7th day holy, and in 1 John 2:6, those who are in Christ are obligated to walk in the same way he walked. There are many verses that describe the Mosaic Law as being God's way, such as Deuteronomy 10:12-13, Isaiah 2:2-3, 1 Kings 2:1-3, Joshua 22:5, Psalms 103:7, Psalms 119:1-3, and many others. We keep every day holy, including Sabbath, when we are Holy. I dont do my works any more. I live in Christ. I left this world of darkness and death and I dont do its ways any more. Jesus did God's work on Sabbath and I believe I do as well.
Having a circumcised heart refers only to someone who is living in obedience to the Mosaic Law (Deuteronomy 10:12-16, Deuteronomy 30:6, Jeremiah 9:26, Romans 2:25-29).I left Egypt, Rome, and Babylon. All three. Unlike the uncircumcised hearts of the Jews I heard the prophet Jeremiah speak God's holy command. I heard Daniel and Revelation as well. I obeyed the Lord.
Romans 3:Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God. 2 Therefore whoever resists the authority resists the ordinance of God, and those who resist will [a]bring judgment on themselves. 3 For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to evil. Do you want to be unafraid of the authority? Do what is good, and you will have praise from the same. 4 For he is God’s minister to you for good. But if you do evil, be afraid; for he does not bear the sword in vain; for he is God’s minister, an avenger to execute wrath on him who practices evil. 5 Therefore you must be subject, not only because of wrath but also for conscience’ sake. 6 For because of this you also pay taxes, for they are God’s ministers attending continually to this very thing. 7 Render therefore to all their due: taxes to whom taxes are due, customs to whom customs, fear to whom fear, honor to whom honor.
Love Your Neighbor
8 Owe no one anything except to love one another, for he who loves another has fulfilled the law. 9 For the commandments, “You shall not commit adultery,” “You shall not murder,” “You shall not steal,” [b]“You shall not bear false witness,” “You shall not covet,” and if there is any other commandment, are all summed up in this saying, namely, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” 10 Love does no harm to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.
Put on Christ
11 And do this, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep; for now our salvation is nearer than when we first believed. 12 The night is far spent, the day is at hand. Therefore let us cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light. 13 Let us walk [c]properly, as in the day, not in revelry and drunkenness, not in lewdness and lust, not in strife and envy. 14 But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts.
God does command his people to be holy everyday. He says be holy because he is holy. Scripture clearly says God is holy and he has absolutely no fellowship with darkness. But they didn't obey God. They grumbled and wanted Egypt. They also didn't come out and be separate as he commanded. They instead was an unfaithful and abusive wife to God. They served idols and their demons. I know i dont want to walk the path of their stiffnecked folly. Scripture teaches us not to be like them.God could have commanded His people to keep every day holy if He had wanted and if that made sense, but He did not, but rather He commanded to keep the 7th day holy. A day that is holy is a day that is set apart and in order for a day to be set apart there needs to be a day that it is set apart from, so to treat every day the same is to treat none of them as holy.
