Yeah, the Jews would love this book!
I don't even know if they read it...but I doubt if they understand much of it if they do.
Sure they would.
It has 12 of their 12 tribes in it.
Israel, Judah and Moses [and Jezebel] are mentioned in it.
Revelation is taken from most of THEIR own OT scriptures and your saying they wouldn't understand it?

Allusions in Revelation from Old Testament

I find this person's view concerning the "allusions" found in the book of Revelation that are found in the Old Testament/Covenant rather fascinating.
Would anyone like to put down verses from Revelation and the verses from the OT/OC that are "alluded" to? I think that would be enjoyable and edifying. Thanks

THE SYMBOLISM IN BOOK OF REVELATION

One man studied and found 348 allusions (not illusions, Light) in Revelation from the Old Testament. You see the similarity in wording and the context mirrored in Revelation and the particular Old Testament story, and immediately can recognize the reference source!
That's IF you know the bible well enough to even notice that.

95 of the 348 plain references used in Revelation as taken from the Old Testament are repeated in Revelation.
That makes about 250 Old Testament passages are cited. How many chapters are in Revelation? 22. That makes about TEN OLD TESTAMENT REFERENCES FOR EVERY CHAPTER!

Daniel speaks of an Abomination of Desolation -- and most people know it happenned in time of Antiochus Epiphanes -- circa 167 BC. But Jesus in Olivet Discourse says one is COMING; to flee when you see Abomination of Desolation. It is historical fact that Christians fled to Pella and elsewhere circa 70 AD. Dual Fulfillment -- possible Multiple Fullfillment -- yes, a third AOD still to come
How about a 4th?
5th?
10th?
347th?

Where does the Bible teach which prophecies have 17 fulfillments before it is FULLY-FILLED, and which have only one? or 2? or 6??

Are you awaiting another Virgin Birth?
Another Crucifixion?

Was Calvary a mere TYPE of some future, even GREATER Sacrifice of Christ for the sins of the world that we still await?

If Multiple Fulfillment is the RULE, then How do you determine any exceptions?

My point exactly: they missed their Messiah because they did not understand some scriptures - such as Isaiah 53.

Either they did not understand their prophets - or they did but did not believe them.

Didn't some writer somewhere say that a certain generation would see ALL prophecy fulfilled? That would then exclude all future fulfillings.

They missed the messiah because they had a bad eschatology, the same way the church today is missing the antichrist because of bad eschatology ....

The meaning of the symbols in Revelation is given in the Old Testament, for example "Sun, moon and stars" = human leadership (Genesis 37:9), which are mentioned in Matthew 24, Revelation 6, Revelation 12, etc....
Also the New Jerusalem have no sun or moon, implying no humans ruling over humans in eternity ....

Well, the person who said it didn't write it, but He said it none the less. His Name is Jesus Christ and He tied the fulfillment of all things written to the Destruction of Jerusalem in 70AD:

Luke 21:20-22
20 “But when you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies, then know that its desolation is near. 21 Then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains, let those who are in the midst of her depart, and let not those who are in the country enter her. 22 For these are the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled.

I suppose you are free to disagree with His declaration.

So are you waiting for another Virgin Birth then?

Their worship is still as it was under the Old Covenant (if indeed any of them do worship).

No Jew alive today Follows, obeys, or conforms to the Old Covenant in their "worship" in any fashion.
Not even one.

At the time of Christ, earth's population was around 300 million. "a third of mankind" so that would be 100 million killed at the 6th trumpet...with some kind of strange horses with fire in their mouth and in their tail.
Sorry, nothing even CLOSE has ever happened. If someone suggests either of the world wars? Sorry, God's prophecies are far more precise than any preterist understanding of scripture. If someone suggests modern helicopters? Sorry, still never has been any war or battle with helicopters that has killed one third of mankind (men, women, children) in a short period of time.

The only sane conclusion is that these events are future, not in history.

Well, Yahweh came down and shot arrows at Saul and his armies, shaking the earth's foundations and the heavens at that time (2 Sam 22:8-16); Yahweh is depicted as having destroyed the universe when he judged Israel through Babylon (Jer 4:22-30), and did so again when he judged Egypt by Babylon's King Nebuchadnezzar (Ez 32:1-16).

Where is your physical evidence of these events happening the way scripture testifies they did?

We have not "missed" the Antichrist simply because he will not be revealed until after the church is taken out of the way.

Where in Revelation is shown the AoD mentioned in Daniel, Matthew and Mark?
Any help on this would be appreciated. Thanks

IN Daniel, we have this shown:

Daniel 12:11
And-from-time he-is-taken-away the-continually, and-to-give-of an-abomination, one-desolating, thousand, two hundreds, and ninety days

It is repeated twice in the Olivet Discourse:

Matthew 24:15
Whenever then ye may be seeing the abomination of the desolation, the being declared thru Daniel the prophet, having-stood in a place, holy
(the one-reading let him be minding/understanding)

Mark 13:14
`Whenever yet ye may be seeing the abomination of the desolation, the being declared thru Daniel the prophet, having-stood where not it is binding,
(the one-reading let him be minding/understanding),
then those in the Judea, let them be fleeing into the mountains

However, Luke does not mention it in his Gospel, but he does mention this:

Luke 21:20
Whenever yet ye may perceiving/seeing Jerusalem being encompassed by armies/stratopedwn <4760>,
then be knowing that is nigh/egguV <1451> the desolating of Her...[Revelation 18:19]

John also uses the phrase "....the one reading...." that is used in Matt 24:15 and Mark 13:14:

Revelation 1:3
Blessed/happy the one reading/anaginwskwn <314> (5723) and the ones hearing, the Logos/Words of the Prophecy, and keepings in it having been written,
for the season/time/kairoV <2540> is nigh/egguV <1451>.

And this is shown in Luke 21:20, also of the Olivet Discourse:

Revelation 18:19
And they cast dust upon their heads and cried-out, weeping and mourning, saying "Woe! Woe! the great City, wherein all were made rich, that had ships at sea, by reason of her prices.
That to one hour She was desolated/hrhmwqh <2049> (5681) .

The abomination which causes desolation is a weapon used to destroy and kill many people. It will be used by the armed forces of the king of the north after his military stationed in Israel has been defeated and lay dead in the streets of Jerusalem. It will be used to kill those nations which have come against his military protecting the jewish people.

It is described in revelation as causing an eartquake .It causes the heavens to depart from the earth as a scroll being rolled together.

Revelation 6:12 KJV: And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood;

Revelation 6:13 KJV: And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind.

Revelation 6:14 KJV: And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places.

It resembles a large body or "lake" of fire whos smoke ascends high into the heavens.

This is the effects it has on the people who have come against Jerusalem.

Zechariah 14:12 KJV: And this shall be the plague wherewith the LORD will smite all the people that have fought against Jerusalem; Their flesh shall consume away while they stand upon their feet, and their eyes shall consume away in their holes, and their tongue shall consume away in their mouth.

Thats whats the armed forces would use if they wish to,make it desolate.Thats what it does.Thats what it was made for.

If you look closly at the video ,you will see a body of fire like a lake.

And the beast and false prophet just so happens to be in jerusalem when that Body of fire appears.

Revelation 19:20 But the beast was captured along with the false prophet, who on its behalf had performed signs deceiving those who had the mark of the beast and worshiped its image. Both the beast and the false prophet were thrown alive into the fiery lake of burning sulfur.

My question is.Just how high does the smoke of a nuke rise into heaven?

Revelation 14:11 And the smoke of their torment will rise forever and ever. Day and night there will be no rest for those who worship the beast and its image, or for anyone who receives the mark of its name."

Abomination is a weapon? Really?

For Antiochus it was slaughtering a pig on the altar, then erecting a false god in the most holy place in the temple - not to mention HE going into the most holy place.

What you are describing is what comes AFTER the abomination.

I dont remember Jesus mentioning Antiochus in the gospel. In fact,i havnt read about him in the entire bible. You must be reading some other prophets work.

What is the name of the prophet who said the abomination of desolation spoken of by the prophet Daniel was a dead pig?

Revelation 18:2-4 And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird. For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies. And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.

The myserty of the woman is where many professed Christians will deny. She is the church! It is God’s corporate congregation that apostasized from God’s Word where false prophets and Christs rule (sits).

Not Antiochus.
Not Rome.
Not Jerusalem. (Not even 70AD).
Not America.
Not Papal.
Or any political entity or city with border or some influential madman.

Beside they never were God’s congregation to begin with. Note that she was Faithful representative of God’s kingdom on Earth BEFORE BECOME a habitation of devils. Geez, I wondered if anyone here can biblically explain the meaning of the foul spirits and the cage of the unclean and hateful birds without making some speculations!

Let's read something from the Amplified:

Daniel 8:9
[ The Little Horn ] Out of one of them (Antiochus IV Epiphanes) came forth a rather small horn [but one of irreverent presumption and profane pride] which grew exceedingly powerful toward the south, toward the east, and toward the Beautiful Land (Israel).

Daniel 11:28
Then he (Antiochus IV Epiphanes) will return to his land with great treasure (plunder); and his heart will be set against the holy covenant, and he will take action and return to his own land (Syria).

The Amplified Bible, you are quoting with, published by the Lockman Foundation is straight out of the pits of hell. This work of heresy is just another IMPOSTER based upon the corruptions of Westcott and Hort. Here is proof in the text. A diabolical attack against the Word of God occurs in Philippians 2:6 for example:

AMPLIFIED BIBLE

6Who, although being essentially one with God and in the form of God [[b]possessing the fullness of the attributes which make God God], did not [c]think this equality with God was a thing to be eagerly grasped [d]or retained,

KING JAMES BIBLE

"Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:"

Now I don't need a PHD (post hole digger) to see what's wrong with this picture.

And of course the "he" in Daniel 11:28 was NOT referred to Antiochus Epiphanes nor it talks about Syria!
