I don't think Revelation had to speak of the abomination that caused desolation, since Revelation picks up Matthew's prophecy, and adds to it, after the fact. Because Revelation gathers all of the prophetic loose-ends, otherwise, Revelation 22:11 would have no meaning.

The testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy. And Jesus taught the Kingdom Gospel to correct the erring believer, just as prophecy is invariably meant to do. You are essentially correct about the abomination that causes the desolation, IMHO.

But Josephus seems to think that the temple fell because they killed James the Just, as well as because the rebels wouldn't stop to think about what the consequences of their actions must be. A very bad element will choose for their followers the death that only they themselves deserve. Josephus says the leaders wouldn't let them go, when the Romans offered it. This is not a singular incident in their history, since R. Wise did the same thing to them in the great war. The cause of the desolation was at least twofold: They made a ruling heathen mad at them--which extended to their religion, and the "spiritual" leaders had become none other than the worthless shepherd.

The first prophets, as well as Jesus, say that bad shepherds feed themselves (and follow their own agendas) at the cost of the lives of the sheep. And so, the hirelings of John 10:12-13 are become the worthless shepherd in Zechariah 11:15-17.

I don't think that the 1260 days are meant to match either the 3 1/2 years or the 42 months. Time is a funny thing in prophecy. IMHO, the timestamp is not the thing to be followed, but the thing that says you are there. I think the same thing about the Name, Mark, and Number... the number being the verification, rather than the object of the search.

And the fact is that God has hidden them for their protection, on that dark day when they too were lost. The Lost Sheep of the House of Israel and the Lost Sheep of the House of Judah/Benjamin, are blended with the gentiles, so that nobody knows who they are... which is the reason that the beast has to mark his own followers, so that he can find the ones he came here to destroy. He will spend 5 months making these marks, IMHO.

"king" AND "of" AND "north" occurs 63 times in 12 verses phrase "kings of north" is used, it is used and astounding 8 times in Daniel all in chapter 11!

The 4 verses outside of Daniel again mentions the King of Babylon:

When exactly do believe the time of the end was?

The Abomination of Desolation has to always be applied to the Temple of Worship.

John is given the Revelation by Jesus, within a post Pentecost Blood Covenant Temple context. The only individual (Head of a given Church denomination) and individuals (within Church assemblies), that can bring in the Abomination of Desolation are professing believers, within the Church establishments and assemblies.

The Man of Sin, is the Son of Perdition and this term applies to the EVEN HIM (head of the denominational Church) and to also the professing believers within the Church establishment. They in the Plural sense of the word Anthropos (Man/Peoples) of Sin are like the Judas Iscariots', who violate the Blood Covenant and sell out Jesus Christ. These sons and daughters of Perdition cannot be from outside of the Church Establishment.

You see, the Daily Sacrifice, within the Spiritual Temple Worship Context, are as Living Stones, bringing in sacrifices to God and they for that matter, are the only ones that can bring in, or to introduce the Abomination of Desolation, in place of the Daily Sacrifice.

So what is the Daily Sacrifice for that matter?

A Living Sacrifice

Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. (Romans 12:1-2)

Our bodies, which is the Temple of God, are where our wills unite with God, so to present our Living Bodies as daily sacrifices to God, pleasing and conforming to his will. We become the Living Stones within the Temple of the Holy Spirit (Post Pentecost Context).

Unbelievers, CANNOT introduce in place of the Daily Sacrifice The Abomination of Desolation, because only those who knew the truth, claimed to be in Christ Jesus and became delusional, in that they had pleasure in unrighteousness and served a lie.

So what is the lie that is being served?

It goes back to the lie in the Garden, where man was deceived to serve man, rather than to serve God. The ecumenical headway that is made, both religiously and legislatively is to abandon God's objective moral laws and to conform to the trending ways of the world and to serve the Creature, rather than to serve the Creator. The progressive Liberal Theological movement and its Ecumenical head (EVEN HIM), has been instrumental in setting up the pieces for the "Falling Away"from the faith in Christ Jesus.

The Black Dragon of Apostasy is being revealed slowly and now, we have many Sons of Perdition manifesting within the Church Establishment, claiming to be of God, but denying the authority of God (Jesus Christ) altogether.

Are we here yet?

These prophesies have nothing to do with the 1st Century Church.

I think its interesting that Daniel was commanded to worship an image, and in Revelation people also worship an image. If im not mistaken.

It is not difficult to find the abomination in Revelation - even thought it is not mentioned in so many words. We know from other scriptures, and from Jesus, that those in Judea will flee when they see the abomination - and we see their fleeing in Rev. 12:6. We also know from other scriptures that the abomination will divide the week into two halves. Since John mentions the half-week period of time 5 different times in chapters 11 - 13, we can be assured the abomination is somewhere in these three chapters.

Since the fleeing in in chapter 12, that rules out chapter 13 Therefore we know it must be in 11 or 12. But since the fleeing is in verse 6, and verses 1-5 are on a different subject, that leaves the midpoint ONLY in chapter 11. I maintain that the 7th trumpet will sound in heaven to mark the very moment the man of sin enters the temple and declares he is the God of the Jews.
