Brother, put your gun back in the holster. Read and consider retracting your harsh, non-Spirit-led words:

The jigsaw puzzle of End-time events which Lindsey so imaginatively constructed, included the following key pieces:  the establishment of the State of Israel  in 1948, the repossession of ancient Jerusalem in 1967, the Secret Rapture of the Church in 1981, the seven-year countdown Tribulation events, the visible Return of Christ by 1988.

Jesus, St. John, St. Peter, and St. Paul:

    JESUS
    Matthew 24:33-34
Even so you also [the apostles], when YOU see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors. Most assuredly I tell you this generation will not pass away until all these things are accomplished.

    ST. JOHN
    1 John 2:18-19
Little children, it is the last hour, and as you heard that the Antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have arisen. By this we know that it is the last hour. They went out from us...

    Revelation 1:1, 3
This is the Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave him to show to his servants the things which must happen soon...Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of the prophecy, and keep the things that are written in it, for the time is at hand.

    ST PETER
    1 Peter 4:7
But the end of all things is at hand

    1 Peter 4:17
because it is the time of the beginning of the judgment from the house of God, and if first from us, what the end of those disobedient to the good news of God?

    ST. PAUL
    Hebrews 10:37
for yet a very very little [while], He who is coming will come, and will not tarry

    Heb 1:1-2
God of old having spoken to the fathers in the prophets, in these last days did speak to us in a Son, whom He appointed heir of all things

    1 Corinthians 7:29,31
But I say this, brothers: the time is short, that from now on, those who have wives may be as though they had none; ... For the mode of this world is passing away.

So when did the earth melt with a fervent heat and why I am I still in this body?

Wait a minute. Hold it there partner...

I'd like to see if you all would consider a Holy Spirit led apology for calling us preterist evangelical brothers liars. Hal Lindsey was famous for his teaching about the 1980s being the terminal decade. Are you just too young to remember?

I listed his quotes and you just blow on by them with not a hint of conviction of the Holy Ghost about the wrong accusations made against us?

I could care less about Hal, I didn't say it And As far as I am concerned you are preaching another Gospel and the Bible says that you will be curse but not by me!

So when did the earth melt?

    RKF,

There is no scripture that says the "earth" will melt.

There are scriptures that say the "elements" will melt however.

"Elements" is the Greek "stoicheion" and is always used in scripture to refer to the basic, rudementary principles of the "law", not the "periodic table" as you would have it.

Here are ALL uses of "stoicheion" in scripture:

Ga 4:3 Even so we, when we were children, were in bondage under the elements(stoicheion) of the world:

Ga 4:9 But now, after that ye have known God, or rather are known of God, how turn ye again to the weak and beggarly elements,(stoicheion) whereunto ye desire again to be in bondage?

Col 2:8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments (stoicheion) of the world, and not after Christ.

Col 2:20 Wherefore if ye be dead with Christ from the rudiments (stoicheion) of the world, why, as though living in the world, are ye subject to ordinances,

Heb 5:12 For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles (stoicheion) of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat.

    And finally.......
2Pe 3:10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.

2Pe 3:12 Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?

    RKF,
If you would only let scripture interprate itself, you will clearly see that the "elements" that melted with fervent heat of 2 Peter 3, were the "first principles of the oracles of God" of Hebrews 5:12 above.
    They are the same.

When you interprate "elements" to mean rocks, dirt etc, and even going so amazingly far out as to interprate "stoicheion" to mean "planet earth" as is your apparent want, you are making the apostles, and therefore scripture, say something they are absolutely, irrefutably not saying at all.

Your futurist bias is hardening your heart to the plain meaning of scripture, forcing you to ignore and neglect precious, God breathed truths, in favor of twisting it into what you "want" it to say.

I am praying God will soften it.

Good job. I posted that one as well. care to elaborate on how you justify "elements" to mean "planet earth"?

Oh, and while you are at it, where is the 1000 year reign in Peter's theology?
Paul says the "day of the lord" that comes as a "theif in the night" is the second coming, and Peter says that on that day, the heavens and earth pass away.

    Where'd the 1000 years go?

This is nothing but garbage. Just because you fail to comprehend what is actually being said. The problem as I see it, is not only mis-interpretation, but also reading comprehension. You take everything at face value, as in what you can see. That is why I call it "The Doubting Thomas Theory", because you don't want to excercise any faith.

I agree with what Hal Lindsey said. You preterists twist his words into your own version, which is not even needed when you speak the same language. And when you are finished explaining what he has said, then you destroy the whole message to a point where you can't even recognize what he said. You do the same with my words, so this should come as no surprise to you, as I've voiced my complaints several times. But the light never came on. So you don't understand.

What Hal Lindsey was saying, was that the generation that saw Israel come back to form a nation again, that would be the generation that sees the return of Christ. He said that most scholars agree that a generation in the bible lasts about 40 years. That does NOT mean that Christ had to return in 1988, like you make it sound. Christ said that that generation would not pass away before His return. What Hal said was that, that generation (everyone born between 1948-1988) would be the generation to see His return. You make it sound like the whole generation has got to die before 1988. Some people live to be 100 years old. By your standards, everyone born in 1988 would have to die an infant (baby). I was born in that generation, and I'm not dead yet.

Do you see how your comprehension is causing the problem?? He never said that Christ would return within that generation. He said that generation would not pass away before the second coming, and some of us would naturally live a long time.

Now I know you preterists don't believe this way, but you all do say that it was in the apostles generation. You think that some of them never saw physical death, but the truth is, every single one of the apostles died physically. In fact, most of them died a cruel death, all except John I think, who lived to be an old man, but he too died. So there goes that theory, once again you are proven wrong, but it's hard to believe without faith. Everyone of them died physically. But they will still see the return of Christ, because they never died spiritually. I tried to tell you all that before, but you refused to listen. See ya
