How did you feel like about it?
When I first did as a child, I was confused and thought "what does He have to save me from and why", because my church rather associated Jesus with mercy and the saving part was barely touched. Or that's the part that they chose to teach us when we were children.
But then I started to understand when I learned about those who are spirit and Jesus' own people, and that they are not embraced by the world that embraces flesh instead. Then there's the Revelations that are related to the matter.
I guess the adults here are rather selective on what to teach children about Christianity.
