Hi

This is a bit cheeky - and a fairly blatant site plug.

I put together an audio of of the KJV story of Joseph in the book of Genesis.

I can't upload that here.

I wrote some reflections also, about how the story of Joseph in Genesis reflects and anticipates Jesus.

Here is one of the reflections:

Joseph’s Transformation: The transformation of Joseph from a favoured son to a wise ruler is a journey of profound growth and change. From the time his jealous brothers sold him into slavery, Joseph’s character underwent a transformation that led him to become a man of wisdom, integrity, and compassion. Joseph’s experiences honed his resilience, sharpened his discernment, and deepened his faith.

Joseph’s story of transformation reflects the spiritual transformation that Jesus’ teachings bring about in the lives of his followers. Through his trials, Joseph learned to rely on God’s guidance and discovered the redemptive power of forgiveness. This transformation from a victim of betrayal to a reconciler of relationships mirrors the spiritual renewal Jesus offers through his teachings and his sacrifice on the cross.

Jesus’ Call To Renewal: Jesus’ teachings resound with a call to spiritual renewal – an internal transformation of the heart and mind. In John 3:3 (KJV), Jesus explained to Nicodemus, ‘Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.’ This metaphorical rebirth signifies the spiritual renewal that takes place through faith in Christ. Just as Joseph’s character transformed, believers are called to be renewed from within through a relationship with Jesus.

Furthermore, in Matthew 9:16-17 (KJV), Jesus compared spiritual renewal to new wine in new wineskins, emphasizing that embracing his teachings requires a fresh perspective and openness to change. This parallels Joseph’s willingness to embrace new roles and responsibilities as he moved from being a slave to a ruler in Egypt.

Embracing Renewal Through Faith: Joseph’s story and Jesus’ teachings underscore the importance of embracing renewal through faith. Just as Joseph’s journey involved challenges that refined his character, Jesus’ teachings challenge believers to let go of old habits and attitudes and embrace a new way of living.

One thing I would say is that recording and editing and getting okay-ish the Bible reading doesn't half focus the mind.

In the sense that less than an hour takes a while to do - and so to reflect on.

It's okay - the audio - but I find the story of Joseph fascinating and compelling.

It is so deep with God.

Thank you,

Oliver
