Thx Brian 45, I learned that from Dr Fruchtenbaum in his book Footsteps of the Messiah. It's a shame that every time eschatology gets posted that amillennialists
Jump in and try and force their corrections on us.
Because this portion of the forum is open to all. There's a "safe house" for those who hold your view, just as there's a "safe house" for those who hold my view.

Ebed, you're a great guy but you've got issues. If Jewishness and Gentiles are no longer relevant then how come you think in terms of being a spiritual Jew? Why not just a Christian or spiritual person?

Because the scripture says "He is a Jew who is one inwardly, and circumcision is that of the heart, by the Spirit."

You haven't realized that physical circumcision was an outward sign of what was an inward reality.

Why do you think God told Israel to "circumcise their heart" in Deuteronomy?

That's how God calls it...so that's what it is...

Out of context. Of the Jews, real Jews are the one's who's hearts are right with God. He is not saying that gentile Christians are Jews.

Yeah Doug...you read Romans 2, and show me how it's out of context. This is you saying what you think...not what the scripture says.

The whole point of Romans 2 is found in the 2:1:
Therefore you have no excuse, everyone of you who passes judgment, for in that which you judge another, you condemn yourself; for you who judge practice the same things.

The point Paul is trying to make is to the Jew, is that they are sinners like the rest of mankind. They are no more or less than any Gentile.

This is the very point Jesus was trying to make when the Pharisees claimed Abraham as their father. Jesus made it clear to them they were not. He said to them:
John 8:37:
37 I know that you are Abraham’s descendants; yet you seek to kill Me, because My word has no place in you.

Jesus makes the point that in the flesh, they are descendants of Abraham.

John 8:38-41:
38 I speak the things which I have seen with My Father; therefore you also do the things which you heard from your father.”
39 They answered and said to Him, “Abraham is our father.” Jesus *said to them, “If you are Abraham’s children, do the deeds of Abraham.
40 But as it is, you are seeking to kill Me, a man who has told you the truth, which I heard from God; this Abraham did not do.
41 You are doing the deeds of your father.”

In the above passage, Jesus makes it clear that spiritually they are NOT Abraham's children. They are children of Satan. This is the very point Paul is making in Romans 2...there's the natural Jew, and there's the spiritual Jew.

Pretty simple...

Explain Romans 15:27 homie
Pretty simple if you walk in the Spirit. Romans 15:7-9 set the stage:
7 Therefore, accept one another, just as Christ also accepted us to the glory of God.
8 For I say that Christ has become a servant to the circumcision on behalf of the truth of God to confirm the promises given to the fathers,
9 and for the Gentiles to glorify God for His mercy; as it is written, “Therefore I will give praise to You among the Gentiles,And I will sing to Your name.”

Any Christian should know we are blessed through Israel, as the Lord Jesus is the seed of David that now reigns. When we realize Christ made Jews and Gentiles ONE...the body of Christ should support one another as ONE.

Paul is returning to Jerusalem, and he shares how Gentile saints are pleased to give to the needs of the believers at Jerusalem, and he shares that they understand they've received spiritual blessings through the Jews.

The apostle shares this continuously as he constantly preaches to help the church to understand in Christ there's no difference.

Paul consistently does these things because he's aware of the Judaizers, who follow behind him everywhere he goes trying to deceive believers, that they must observe the OT Laws, which is false under the New Covenant.

Only if one is still thinking "Jews"...instead of the "Body of Christ".

As Paul says..."We are members of one another".

Seems Jesus needs to take you through a "Peter picnic"...

Ummmhmm right.

Yea, it hath been their good pleasure; and their debtors they are. For if the Gentiles have been made partakers of their spiritual things, they owe it to them also to minister unto them in carnal things. (Romans 15:27 ASV)

Paul is referring to my dearest ebled, the recent donation brought forth by the Believing Gentiles of Macedonia to the Believing Jews in Jerusalem.
Again, exegetical gymnastics.

Really? What did I say? Here it is again:

Now those in Macedonia and Achaiah are Gentile Christians. You're quite disingenuous if you read my response. I just took it a step further as to how Paul strives to make the point we are one body with Jews.

Sounds like dispensational, replacement theology, fella.

Paul was an apostle to & for the Gentiles, called by God to do His will.

You're the only one that seems to be "against" the Gentiles being
being made heirs of the promises through faith in Jesus!

Replacement Theology:

The view that the Church replaced Israel as God's covenanted people. Or that Israel was in effect the Church in Old Testament times and the Church today is Israel. It believes that the believer in Yeshua becomes a spiritual Jew once he believes.

This is not what the Bible teaches.

I was talking about your replacement theology!

You seem to believe God will replace the church with ethnic Israel.

You simply missed the qualifier...look at the WHOLE phrase:

Romans 15:27:
27 Yes, they were pleased to do so, and they are indebted to them. For if the Gentiles have shared in their spiritual things, they are indebted to minister to them also in material things.

Paul is saying that...true enough...but why do you ignore that these Gentile saints WERE PLEASED to do so.

Probably because you don't get it...they had a right Spirit. Their willingness shows the Holy Spirit working in them.

Paul then speaks from the same point of view he shares in Romans 11:17-24.

You simply chose to focus on one point...and that's pretty sad.
