CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I'm of the mindset that we don't have to love them personally but show the love of Jesus to them through our actions as God's love at times flows through us a lot easier than our own love. Sometimes loving others is doing what is best for them and (to them) the don't consider it love at all. To want the best for a person means encouraging to give up the worst of them for better and at times that is a hard thing to bear.Loving your enemies is hard.I feel like I don't have any love to give to my enemies.

I just heard that Ray Liotta died, apparently peacefully in his sleep, thank God. That is a pity, though, as he'd always seemed like a good man off-screen, and from what little media gossip over celebrities I had heard on the subject over the years he appeared to be a man of faith as well. May he rest in peace.
