  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

What's on your mind?

*yawn* I needed that 12 hours of sleep.

Now, onward to Texarkana for a few medical appointments, ending with a foot massage (I am certain Miss @bèlla would approve of such pampering ^_^ ) and a meal from Raising Canes as the reward for my recent labors.:D

What an adorable picture! I really like it. :)

Yes, I approve of the pampering. You’ve worked hard and deserve it. Enjoy your day. :cheer:

PS. Have you finished the treatments?

PS. Have you finished the treatments?

Unfortunately I have discontinued that for now. It just isn't going near as fast and efficient as what it looked to be doing at first. Most of my facial hair just comes right back, and still won't go away even after a second sweep. I must have endured at least three thousand, perhaps as much as five thousand, of those heated shocks by now, and yet at least two thirds of the total hair on my face remains, mostly from just having come right back. That much pain isn't worth it. =/

I have instead turned to laser treatment, which while just as painful, only requires a few zaps to cover the entire face, and, they tell me, at least six visits over the course of the next half year to achieve full effect. The ladies at this new place, which was recommended to me by someone else who sort of knew them, are very elegant and nice and made me feel more at ease with them than the one person who was performing the electrolysis before. Especially a very pretty girl who handles the finances, Rachel, is very welcoming. The environment of this clinic is much cleaner and fancy in decor, too, which I imagine you would like, Bella. ^-^
This method is not "permanent", per se, but with optimum success after the initial six treatments the ladies tell me that hair growth should be reduced by 75 percent, provided I still follow up with a single treatment every full year or so. Just drastically reduced growth instead of full removal (which I am clearly not close to achieving with electrolysis) is what I may have to settle for.

Sometimes, self-care looks like crying at the feet of Jesus for two hours straight.

I'm not a crier. But, once in a great while, there are tears. But, it usually takes a lot to make me cry. Today was different.

I am loved.
I am seen.
I am heard.
And so are you.

I'm glad you've found a better alternative. I've never tried either. I wax at home. I used to go to an esthetician but it wore off too quickly in the summer due to the heat.

It sounds nice. You know we're particular about cleanliness. :crossrc: It seems like the new place is better. Perhaps you can get acquainted with Rachel.

One treatment per year isn't bad. Especially if you're getting the look you want with less hassle. I hope it works out. :)

Been feeling stressed again lately; a lot going on over here. Although, I find that I can always find peace and comfort by turning to God in prayer for awhile. It helps to take breaks and get away for a bit, and just pace away from the noise - seeking Him while doing so. Rarely do I regret it.

Thanks shineyourlight. :blueheart: Although it was meant to be an encouraging post that I wanted to share with the community. I was encouraged to do so by your post above. ^-^ We can always find comfort and peace by running to the loving arms of Christ.

Although, I can always use the prayers. :ahem:

Watching the Olympics Opening Ceremony. First thing I saw was athletes waving, then I saw the almost completely empty seats, lol, who are they waving to. I miss japan. Great country. Nice, clean and beautiful place, great food, ten years in the future, people mind their own business and are much more polite.

I think people are getting the wrong idea regarding this post yesterday.

I've been in some very deep, dark places in my walk with Jesus. Not exactly the end of the world to be stressed and I don't need sympathy. Although I appreciate the prayers. ;)

It's exciting to finally get to enjoy the Olympics again. Was watching the Soccer and Rowing events yesterday that started early, and am looking forward to seeing the opening ceremony later that I have recorded.

It's unfortunate that COVID and various controversies have affected the games during this current Olympiad though.

So now Cleveland's MLB team will be the Guardians. I don't mind sports teams changing names so as not to be ethnically insensitive, but why do the new names have to be so contrived? :(

I've been procrastinating getting my car washed and waxed for the last couple months and really thought I was going to these last 2 days. Especially today, but I really feel like I need to prioritize sleep before my health goes down. Sometimes you just have to know when to say when, and today is one of those days that I just need another night of earlier rest. Once I get some rest, hopefully it will go well for my run tomorrow morning.

Nothing wrong with prayers :) No one's giving you sympathy just because someone offers to pray for you. In Ephesians, it talks about lifting each other up. Even if something isn't wrong, receiving prayers is a good thing!

I'm glad things are going good for you! I'm gonna keep praying for you because that's what we are called to do and I hope you do the same for me <3
