Thanks on the gentleman part, but when it comes to the ladies, I am actually quite inexperienced. I think I actually prefer things that way, though. I would worry about becoming an arrogant person if I got along a lot better with women in any kind of romantic sense.

Well, i guess there is one thing I can say that is going on, although game-related and probably not suited to the interests of a lady such as Sampa, Multifavs, or Bella

I birthed a gamer and between you and I, her grandmother is probably the culprit! She played video games with all the grandkids. I’ve endured my share of first shooter (Halo & the like), fantasy, roleplaying, and other genres through Little Miss.

I exclusively play older games, but RE4? That's a semi-older one! Was big when I was growing up. What system do you play it on? Mod, so computer I'm guessing?

Oh, I was there from pretty much the very beginning when it first came out on the Gamecube in 2005. I still remember my first experience playing for the first time all night in the old rented house I had with a longtime friend just two blocks or so away from where I live now, just trying to take a break from recent final exams in college , and finally giving it up about halfway for the night to get some sleep and resuming again after church the next morning. I somehow remember that all in all my playtime on that first run was well over 20 hours, because it was so different and challenging an experience. Just little memories like that. It was definitely a brand new RE experience from what I was used to, mixing in more action with the horror element, and seeing Leon Kennedy become quite the snarker when it came to the very bad day he suddenly found himself having in the middle of rural Spain, in comparison to the more naive rookie hero he was in a previous RE game. XD
And I once owned RE4 on the PS2 as well for the sake of being able to play the added side story with Ada Wong. But for now, with this mod, yes, I am using the HD version on Steam. Steam is good stuff, but honestly all in all I probably still prefer console gaming.

Yup. It's brutal. There are monsters everywhere in this version. ... And I do mean everywhere. Poor Leon is having a very bad day. I guess the mod is called Resident Evil 4: Life in Hell for a reason. O_O

I don’t think that would be an issue as long as you’re being yourself. I think the arrogance is a side effect of changing yourself to please people.

Hosting exchange students sounds fun. One of the ladies in my missionary program had 3 Muslim young men. It blossomed into a ministry for the couple.

What kind of sucked during that time I went skating with them is that I found any prowess I once held as a skater in my childhood, was completely lost.

I can’t ice skate either. Rollerskating is easy but my body was non compliant on blades! Skis are okay.

Also been listening to the series of podcasts that my friends at RPGMaker Magazine made back in 2012 through 2014, just chatting about gaming news and having fun with each other, called the MagCast, while playing through this mod of RE4. I was there for a few of the podcasts, but not all of them like Fayorei, Lantis (my longtime friend from high school forward who I still visit in El Dorado nearby once a month or so), Ixzion, and some others were. Good times.

It's interesting just listening to stuff like that in foreground with the actual game volume turned down lower. You might say it gives me a bit of a disadvantage since it's harder to hear the sounds of approaching monsters in-game, and thus not react before I get a nice clawed uppercut upside the head from a Novistador monster ... or worse yet a chainsaw ... but, you know, when doing hardcore gaming like this for hours on end on my days off of work, sometimes you just want to hear something else other than repeated orchestra stings, monster howls, and gunshots.


EDIT: Actually right this moment Lantis is going on and on about how limited and frustrating the RPGMaker 1 software was for making our game Arc Arath, when we were so close to the finish at this time but battle balancing kept becoming a chore. I wasn't there in the podcast at the time to double the impact and length of his rantings, unfortunately. Yup, good times.
