If I hear that awful airhorn sound coming from that insufferable "Rock the Bells" station that's been playing day in and day out on the mainlab radio, I am going to wrench the radio free of its moorings on the shelf and hurl the accursed thing out the window into the metal waste dumpster where it belongs.

.... Okay, not really. That would be destruction of someone else's personal property, whoever bought that radio shortly before I came back to work here in the first place four years ago. But still, that airhorn sound is just obnoxious. Who thinks that this seriously makes for good music? I know that sir @public hermit would certainly never approve. He knows the good stuff.

Watching a kdrama and find myself thinking- how strange is it that moms seem to know their baby’s gender while it’s too early to tell in the womb? I wanted a girl so badly and I remember one day early in pregnancy getting a sinking feeling realizing it was a boy- not a what if, I just really felt certain. (Btw, now I adore my little boy and couldn’t imagine life without him) but I’ve heard many other mothers say something similar. How odd it is that we can feel that?

I am so tired...

I know it might be a little late to do so, but I pray you sleep well, tonight, Chelsea, whether it be because of physical or emotional exhaustion. May an angel watch just over your slumbering head.

Since a thought back to that fight to the death at the end of Karate Kid 2 flashed through my mind just now, and hence the particular reason I thought that Part 2 was the best of the original three movies, I just wanted to mention here: You know who I think is really pretty despite being almost 20 years older than me? (I mean, I admit that most of the ladies I have crushed on in my past were a few to several years younger than me, rather than older, but I certainly have no aversion to the notion of ever falling in love with an older woman, for youthful beauty lies more within the spirit rather than the number of years showing on her face as far as I am concerned ^-^ )

Tamlyn Tomita, who played Sumiko in both Karate Kid 2 and the recent Cobrai Kai series.

Talk about aging with dignity. ^_-
I believed every word of that line she spoke in her first appearance in Cobra Kai, as seen above, in response to Daniel asking her if anyone ever managed to win her heart to the point of marriage over the thirty years or so since he last saw her. She coyly replied, "Many have tried, but honestly none of them ever fought to the death for me." (referring to the fight at the end of Karate Kid 2, that started when Daniel came to her defense) A woman who says that with such innocent-sounding confidence, has assuredly captured the heart of many a potential suitor.

I've got different things on my mind.

- I'm dreading going out to the grocery store today (I will eventually go)
- Some of the people's politics on this forum...
- There's a YouTuber that has his own website and does the membership through his website instead of YouTube or Patreon. I was thinking about doing that a week ago, but I've been having issues with the account I made. I was afraid to go through with the payment in case my account got suspended.

- I too am dreading going out to the store, lol
- yeeeeh politics are why I avoid talking about them on a forum. I am always uncertain if political discussions online are ever productive. Maybe if an entire forum was focused on debate, but too few people know how to actually debate…

The Holy Spirit is a person, so deepen your relationship with Him. Pray, study scriptures, read books and devotionals, etc. Allowing the Spirit to work more through you by denying self.

Absolutely! Or on my computer, popping up randomly where your mouse cursor is. I've accidentally clicked a few of those recently especially because I'm a compulsive, nervous clicker lol

So I'm getting the psychological runaround at my boyfriend's church. Said church is hosting a class on trauma, and I attended and it was extremely helpful. The videos that we watched from actual therapists, the conversations in the class, everything. I spent some time yesterday devouring the video material for the future sessions - the church provided a login to watch them online.

Except today I got a call from the guy who is hosting the class and he wants me to see a therapist and be moved to another group. Apparently, I'm too smart and too "deep" for the class I was attending, and he claims that the class I was attending wasn't designed for me. Further, if I keep going I could get the church in legal trouble. What?

At least I'm allowed to finish watching the rest of the videos for the rest of the sessions online, but I found this whole thing really frustrating. The class was very helpful for me, both in understanding my problems and also my boyfriend's situation. I feel like I'm being misunderstood, and it's making me very uncomfortable.

It's just another edition of "linux is too smart for therapy" that I experienced back at the community college. I was just looking for information about trauma from the class, and I feel like I'm being punished.

Honestly I think that's kind of a strange response from him.
This situation has been resolved. It was a personal issue between me and the leader of the group. Apparently the leader of the group is a naturally paternalistic figure who is very caring and dadlike, and that is a big part of his identity. Hearing about my abusive dad and his misdeeds was too much for him to emotionally handle.

Unfortunately, he didn't clearly communicate that to me and proceeded to be a "dad" by assuming that he knew what was best for me and making a bunch of things up because he was hurt, which triggered my own awful memories of my dad, and the picture may be fully explained. Needless to say, we get along about as well as oil and water.

I am being allowed to retain online access to the videos for the class, and I have been invited to another group which is being led by a woman. Hopefully this new group will work out much better. I've already spoken with the female leader of this new group and I don't anticipate any further issues.

I'm sorry, but that person should not be leading any type of ministry or support group. If he can't handle your story and will make up things to push you out...that's just awful. He's no true Christian leader.

I mean, the first qualification for leading a trauma class/group should be being comfortable hearing people's traumatic stories...lol. I've already voiced my anger about being lied to and he apologized, but I hope that he is removed from that role in the future.
