  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Ben is still sick and at the East Tennessee Children's Hospital right now. Please pray for him. Knowing Jenny, she has enough worries throughout daily life without a sick child whom no one yet knows what is wrong with him to add onto that.

Turns out finding Christmasy clothes wasn't as easy as I thought it was going to be, now I have until Wednesday to find something because I suggested and my team is on board for Christmas Cheer Wednesdays...

Good second counseling session through free counseling service a dating app offered me. Very good platform. We got into my growing up years. Tenacity was the word that was repeated many times for describing me. She's going to send me a link to a Christian Neff in Austin Texas. Something about compassion fatigue. And also something about the Galveston diet. I really like her a lot. She's so sweet and a delight to be around, even if it is virtual. She's in Alabama

I have found plenty at the consignment shops. Otherwise grab a sweater and buy a box of ornaments and clip them to your sweater. There's all kinds of creative things you can do with a plain sweater and putting Christmas decorations on it. Maybe even tinsel garland. I came one year for ugly sweater with battery operated lights that danced whatever music was played.

I ask that at least six times a night now with every new (and cringe-sounding) song that comes on the station that the two guys in the lab next to me at work have become fond of. The latest gift I have received from Hell's recording studio earlier tonight seriously had an air horn sound every fifteen to thirty seconds. Along with a healthy mix of racial slurs and F bombs every other line. It physically hurts my ears sometimes. This brand of music should be considered ugly and unlistenable just on the level of aesthetics alone. Like, from a Christian moral or a totally secular standpoint, why would anyone want to listen to this as music?

Every time this happens, I just involuntarily stop whatever I am doing at the moment, look over through the doorway to the room next to me, and say with derision, "WHAT IS GOING ON?"
