Don't throw this on me. I understand your point of view. The Bible says it is wrong, so it's wrong. It's a very easy point of view.

I don't understand why you feel this view needs to be forced upon others that do not believe in the Bible. You wouldn't like it if the Muslim point of view were forced upon your life, and Shia laws were adopted. You would more than likely rebel and fight against this.

But you are perfectly content for YOUR way of life and YOUR point of view to be forced. That is against the very fabric of a country that allows for freedom of religion stands for. That view is hypocritical at best.

So again you would put the best interests of your child's mental health aside to go to someone that is not educated in the subject and can only operate on conjecture, here in CA that would get your child taken away from you.

No, I would do what is in the child's best interest. In this case, I think counseling or psychiatry/ology would be best.

I've never seen them say it was a fact. I've seen them say it might be, but never for sure, certain, 100%, etc.

Then maybe they should get closer to God. We shouldn't be so dependent on another person to make us happy or to make life livable. We should love ourselves enough to be content in our situation.

There are many people that find the idea of god as foreign as you find the idea of no god. For me it is absolutely a ridiculous concept that anyone could possibly believe in a god, I was brought up Christian and knew from a very young age that it is illogical to me, you may well have a child that is the same way.

Well that would be very sad. I would never want my child to do that, but I guess that is their decision. But if they choose to openly live in defiance of God, they would not be allowed to live with me any longer (assuming they were old enough duh).

I realize that. It was an afterthought relating to my own situation and notice I said "sometimes I wonder if," not "I am convinced." I tend to write much the way I speak, including little side thoughts.

How about addressing the real issue and point I was making instead of focusing on one little irrelevant statement?

The APA does not condone their members counseling against something they do not agree with.

Well, you are stating what will happen to the kid but you make everything be as bad as possible. The child will hopefully see the error of their ways and come around to God. He will help them through anything, even that.

If you are a Christian and you read the Bible, it is not debatable. If they do not believe the Bible, they should at least respect my belief in it enough to not live in sin while living under my roof.

Wikipedia says that "Clinical psychology includes the scientific study and application of psychology for the purpose of understanding, preventing, and relieving psychologically-based distress or dysfunction and to promote subjective well-being and personal development."
If the vast majority of forced closet-homosexuality has led to psychologically-based distress or dysfunction, why would a psychologist be endorsing such an imposition?

Do they not allow it or they just don't condone it? I've never even seen where they say it is 100% true that homosexuality is genetic.
