Whatever. I hope you tell your sons they will not likely be able to shift the blame to the girl if they have non-consensual sex, regardless of whether she is dressed provocatively or passed out drunk. Or under aged and too young to consent.Try convincing your insurance company of that.
My son has been married for several years and is the dad to two of the young girls in my avatar pic.Whatever. I hope you tell your sons they will not likely be able to shift the blame to the girl if they have non-consensual sex, regardless of whether she is dressed provocatively or passed out drunk. Or under aged and too young to consent.
That certainly is a possibility."I really wonder if God is allowing evil to be exposed for what it is and how prevalent in society it is."
Idk if God is allowing for it to be exposed at this time, due to something else.., such as the end of times?
Not all the blame. Only the part that requires some thought and discretion be shown.
My emotions have moved through several places on this and finally come to rest here:....and do you think there is a spiritual facet to it all?
We all know this stuff has been going on forever. Here and there we hear of someone getting caught, but there certainly has been a rash of reports lately. It could be that some women feel more confident to talk if others do as well, but I am wondering if there is a spiritual facet to it.
It's not just sexual harassment, many crooked kings and politicians are being exposed of late.
I really wonder if God is allowing evil to be exposed for what it is and how prevalent in society it is. Evil meaning corruption, modern slavery, sexual harassment, ect.
Any feelings on this? I have done a few in depth searches but nobody else is making any connections that I can find. Is it just coincidence or is there something bigger going on?
I realize any answer is speculation, but can we speculate?
I think it's a result of the feminist's "Me too" campaign
backfiring against them. Instead of bringing out more
false charges against Republicans, it encouraged those
who were actually abused to come forward. It seems that
those who thrive on vilifying others have been the most
serious offenders.
I think that is actually the proactive goal of this. Except there is stuff like this (Joy Baer and Robin Williams):I think one possible outcome could be that more and more women get elected; they could change both the law and attitudes on sexual harrassment in all its forms in any work environment. This may take a generation but big change could happen.
I agree. And on a related subject, if the mistreatment happened more than 2 years ago, I don't want to hear about it without solid evidence. That's just my personal guideline. YMMVVictims don't sin by being mistreated but they should seek justice, if nothing else, just to prevent others from being victimized by these evil men. I really hope your opinion is far outside the mainstream or that you just don't get it.
Depends on the church.Well they haven't. Abuse in the church has gone on and on and been covered up - - I don't know when it started but if your child is abused and you think your church is going to solve the problem you are so, so dead wrong.
My wife would disagree with you. However, in all fairness, it depends on the degree of "abuse". My wife got her butt pinched when she was in Italy. She slapped the guy. Please go try to learn why women don't consider it their moral duty to endure sexual abuse by men. Your reasoning is very twisted.
Yes, and then it got political. That is why I have not chimed in much because I don't follow politics. The OP asked this question:
I really wonder if God is allowing evil to be exposed for what it is and how prevalent in society it is. Evil meaning corruption, modern slavery, sexual harassment, ect.
Is there a spiritual component to all of the women coming forwards?
Is it the "spirit of truth" at work, and would that be the correct use of the term?
And why now, in 2017?
Wrong. The lawbreaker takes full responsibility. A law abiding citizen is not "partially at fault" simply because they don't lock their door or leave their keys in the car. You are now at fault if your home is robbed simply because you have an expensive home. And a woman who is raped or sexually harassed is not responsible for the rape or harassment simply because she wears a reveling outfit.
Overnight the NFL Network suspended three analysts after claims of sexual harassment were lodged against them. The woman who was harassed reported that she had complained about the sexual advances to management but was told "It's part of the job when you look the way you do."
So, using your reasoning simply being attractive gives men a green light to assault and harass women.
Whatever. I hope you tell your sons they will not likely be able to shift the blame to the girl if they have non-consensual sex, regardless of whether she is dressed provocatively or passed out drunk. Or under aged and too young to consent.
But would Williams have considered that abusive?I think that is actually the proactive goal of this. Except there is stuff like this (Joy Baer and Robin Williams):
And there is the rub, in a single statement. So, when is it inappropriate? If Robin had said to get her hands off him was it already too late to take it back, or would doing it again be the first offense? But would Williams have considered that abusive?
I don't think so.
I have four daughters, and two sons. The challenge for me regarding this issue is that the solution is not easy. In your case, the absolute right thing to do would have been to immediately report it to the school and then to your parents. But that is a hard choice for a 17 year old girl to make.my gymnastics coach stuck his finger straight up and into my lady bits when I was 17.
assaulting gymnasts has been in the news a lot lately....
No, I did not approve.
Will there be the argument made that gymnasts, swimmers and dancers are all wearing enticing uniforms, and so we are asking to be assaulted/groped?
did my leotard invite upon myself my own abuse?
should I have refused to be a competitive athlete?
Well, the whole thing regarding female gymnasts is being exposed now, so to answer the OP, I think that perhaps social media is opening doors to expose the sinful nature of mankind, which possibly could help with a global revival?
If social media/the press expose the world to the harsh realities of a sinful nature, is this an opportunity for us Christians to witness?
