Is it possible for a Christian to become unclean by touching, say, unclean things?
That is not true.Observation over the world of people/ including named 'Christians' :
Everybody is unclean.
Exceptions: rare.
Yes indeedy! We rest on this day because God Did as the commandment says. And because He rested on this day He blessed it and sanctified it. Hence why we are called to keep it holy.
Sabbath has meaning as a day of rest even in the sinless environment of Eden according to the Bible.![]()
As Christ also loved the church and gave himself up for her, that he might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word Ephesians 5Observation over the world of people/ including named 'Christians' :

That looks like a purposeful misrepresentation/ misquote ?As Christ also loved the church and gave himself up for her, that he might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word Ephesians 5
Not at all. We are told the ceremonial law that was added after the fall of man were contrary and against.
Deuteronomy 31:26 KJB - Take this book of the law, and put it in the side of the ark of the covenant of the LORD your God, that itmay be there for a witness against thee.
Deuteronomy 31:28 KJB - Gather unto me all the elders of your tribes, and your officers, that I may speak these words in their ears, and call heaven and earth to record against them.
Deuteronomy 30:19 KJB - I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, [that] I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:
Nope. . .it was a prefigure/type/pattern of our true salvation rest of God in Jesus Christ (Heb 4), which is why it was so important. To try to tie Col 2:14-16 to the weekly Sabbath that started at Creation Exo 20:11 when God made everything according to His perfect plan is an attack on God’s character that He made the Sabbath to be against man basically saying God was against man from day 1.
Oh, but it does. . .That is not what the verse says. That is a serious twisting of God's word. Is that what one must resort to now?
No more different than a shadow Sabbath rest ending at the death of Christ, our Sabbath, where we rest in him for our salvation and not in our own works. An animal sacrifice pointing to the death of Christ -- that ends (as Heb 10 pints out) when Christ dies on the cross --- is not being "contradicted".
But both Sunday keeping scholars and Sabbath keeping ones - affirm the fact that the TEN - all TEN are included in the moral law of God. Where they argue is whether it is ok to edit the Law of God in the case of the Sabbath commandment.
That is very different from a shadow animal sacrifice ending at the death of Christ.
Oh, but it does. . .
Indeed, that is the burden of Heb 4.
Heb 4:8-9 presents another Sabbath rest for the people of God, the NT Sabbath rest--from one's own work to save and in Christ's work which saves.
It's from hereThat looks like a purposeful misrepresentation/ misquote ?
< sigh >No it isn't. Nowhere is the word another even implied in the text as you purport below. Don't add what is not.
Brother, what a great passage! It tells us clearly where true cleansing from sin comes from, like with water, and it comes from obeying the Ten Commandments as Jesus obeyed them and not as Judaism disobeyed them by sabotaging them with human traditions added to the “word” of God written in letters on stone. It's from here![]()

So then it is deliberate mis-directed, vague off truth instead of direct specific truth ?It's from here
Sigh? That is being stated in respect to the rest in which is the Gospel. Joshua leading the people into Canaan was not that rest, otherwise he would not afterwards spoke of another day. Verse 9's Sabbitimos, Sabbath keeping is being said in relation to verse 4 and 5 where it says that He spake in a certain place on this wise, and God did rest from all His works. And to this again he speaks, If they shall enter into my rest which is stated to be the Gospel in verse 2.< sigh >
Read Heb 4:8 again, where you will find the word, "another" (allos).
Sadly, its not going to make a difference. Regardless how many times God said not to edit His commandments Deut 4:2 Psa 89:34 Mat 5:18 and we are told to follow in the footsteps of Jesus Heb 4:10 1 John 2:6 and even if it goes against what Jesus said Mar 2:28 Mat 24:20 John 14:15 people believe want they want 2 Corinthians 11:4Sigh? That is being stated in respect to the rest in which is the Gospel. Joshua leading the people into Canaan was not that rest, otherwise he would not afterwards spoke of another day. How do we know? Because Verse 10 says he that has entered into that rest which is the Gospel ALSO ceases from his own work JUST AS God did from his. The rest that we entered which is past tense and the ceasing from work are 2 different things not one. This is seen by the word ALSO. And that ceasing from work AS God did is recorded in verses 4 and 5 so we would not get confused.
Hello brother, and peace be with you! Verse 32 stands out to me this morningBrother, what a great passage!
It tells us clearly where true cleansing from sin comes from, like with water, and it comes from obeying the Ten Commandments as Jesus obeyed them and not as Judaism disobeyed them by sabotaging them with human traditions added to the “word” of God written in letters on stone.
For husbands, this means love your wives, just as Christ loved the church. He gave up his life for her to make her holy and clean, washed by the cleansing of God’s word. He did this to present her to himself as a glorious church without a spot or wrinkle or any other blemish. Instead, she will be holy and without fault. In the same way, husbands ought to love their wives as they love their own bodies. For a man who loves his wife actually shows love for himself. No one hates his own body but feeds and cares for it, just as Christ cares for the church. And we are members of his body. (Ephesians 5:25-30 NLT)
Here is evidence of the need to follow the spirit in Jesus' model of obedience and not the letters in stone in Judaism's model of disobedience.
Jesus replied, “You hypocrites! Isaiah was right when he prophesied about you, for he wrote, ‘These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. Their worship is a farce, for they teach man-made ideas as commandments from God.’ For you ignore God’slaw(nomos)/commandment(entolé) and substitute your own tradition.” Then he said, “You skillfully sidestep God’slaw(nomos)/commandment(entolé) in order to hold on to your own tradition. For instance, Moses gave you thislaw(nomos)/commandment(entolé) from God: ‘Honor your father and mother,’ and ‘Anyone who speaks disrespectfully of father or mother must be put to death.’ But you say it is all right for people to say to their parents, ‘Sorry, I can’t help you. For I have vowed to give to God what I would have given to you.’ In this way, you let them disregard their needy parents. And so you cancel the word of God in order to hand down your own tradition. And this is only one example among many others.” (Mark 7:6-13 NLT fixed)
United in our hope for the soon return of Jesus, Jorge
