Glad that my stomach is starting to feel better.
I'm happy to hear that!

Having an upset stomach (no, more than upset, I mean downright miserable) is a HORRIBLE feeling!

Trust me, as a person with acid reflux and anxiety, I can relate.

The last few days have been pastorally busy; lots of people dealing with the fallout from family and church hurt over Christmas.
Not gonna lie, I wonder what happens in the daily life of Protestant clergy since they don't (necessarily) have daily services and confession on a daily basis (at least in the US).

Essentially, people are in and out 24/7.

God bless all our clergy

Their work load must be EXTREMELY exhausting.

May God bless you in his love.

:prayer:

That's true, and every parish is different. Here, though, I have some sort of regular commitment every day except Tuesday.

Today, (Wednesday in Australia), I had two services and a community choir rehearsal. In between, I did a bunch of admin, prepared for a funeral on Friday, and wrote Sunday's sermon.

Workload is a perennial issue, but thanks be to God at the moment it's not too crushing. It will get busier as the year goes on.

That’s very interesting. Thanks for sharing.

One of my aunts died. I wasn't close to her but visited her at least a couple of times a year growing up She probably died a few weeks ago. Family and friends have been trying to contact her since then. For whatever reason police were not able to enter her home until today. She was found on the ground. According to police she looked peaceful like she was sleeping.

As far as I know she's still there. The funeral home is busy and cannot pick her up until later. As someone who is sensitive about how the dead are handled I wish this whole situation was done in a better manner.

I do wonder how common such huge delays happens when people die.

I have given a key to the one I was married to, today as a matter of fact she called me on the phone 3-4 times,

she called my daughter who lives a couple of hours away by car, she phoned me later on and told me.

I had not heard any telephone because I was asleep.

So I phoned her later on and she told me she was very near to coming over and letting herself in.

It is often so easy to think the worst though.

I can have thoughts about those living in this apartment building that I have not seen him or her for some time,

Then suddenly I bump into them.

Sorry to hear your news MehGuy. But yes, how is it that things are getting so sloppy out there compared to days gone by. Perhaps greed has decreased availability of all services in order for fewer to profit more. As a result the whole system suffers..

Sorry for your loss, @MehGuy.

Anecdotally, locally at least, funeral directors are very short staffed. Not sure if that trend holds elsewhere, but it might be part of the picture.

I've been wondering why I live on Pancake Street. I mean, the house I bought is okay enough, but what a stupid name for a street.
Reminds me of what a college's cafeteria is named "the gag"

That is has been quiet on the forums for a while now. Does nobody go to work any more?
Still work, that's all I've got left now.
Keeps my mind busy after the loss of my wife last month.
