Staying put, for now. A potential move in the future heavily foreshadowed, though. I think the overall tenor of the conversation boils down to, "Deal with this list of things promptly, so that the parish will be in a good state to hand over by mid-next year."

Of course, I can't tell the parish that, and they're a bit disgruntled at some of the instructions coming from the bishop, so it's going to be interesting times.

Wanna talk about it, I've got all day brother.

Not sure if I want to get into too much detail. It's a combination of things. I guess right now it's hard to realize that I will be in my 40s soon. Not just for my sake, but that some of my loved ones are advancing in age, and that sooner or later they will pass away. I guess.. in a way I took youthfulness and people not dying for granted.

Most of my grandparents died when I was too young to be affected by it. In a way, I am not really experienced in handling death. Especially a death of a loved one. The death of pets is all I really have had to deal with in that regard.

Been thinking lately, tools.

To make any job easier is by having the right tools and using them correctly.

Came to think of this for it is becoming common for certain politicians to say "We have the tools to make you change your mind",

Often their so called tools are a form of blackmail, "Do this or that or we will sanction you."

I do not have the energy to try express in words my thoughts on such.


However, as the Rebbe would say, "Think good and it will be good."

So uninvited a thought came, "Are we not all tools in a gigantic toolbox?"

For you cannot do what I can do, I cannot do what you can do, so it is allaround, but together we can get the job done.

So much strife and misery has much to do with not being satisfied with what we have been given,

One Sage of old stated that a soul may descend into this world and live happily for 70-80 years

for the sole purpose of doing another a favor, physical or spiritual.

There is a food-chain store in Norway whose motto is, "Simple is often the best."

And Psalms 119 tells that "Your Torah makes the simpelton wise."

I don't think I am too worried about feeling alone. As someone who finds it difficult to feel close to others, I have felt alone all of my life. While not pleasant I can deal with loneliness.

Despite not feeling close to others, I can still experience emotional empathy. So losing loved ones will hurt a lot. I almost lost my father a few years ago. The feeling that he was about to die was horrible. Despite not feeling close to him in a personal level.

It is what it is though. Just a part of growing up. A part of growing up I find harder and harder to ignore the inevitability of.

I grew up extremely shy. I have dealt with severe loneliness all of my life. I have built resilience long ago in that regard.

I feel ya man. Enjoy everyone you love as long as you have them. You may have them for much longer than you fear. Don't waste that time with worry.
